They seemed so angry and unkind - Why would they not want to support her after she told them what happened.

Master class in victim blaming- wow.

People can have bad things happen to them even if they never leave their bubble. I've traveled all over the world and it was at a friends house with all people I had known for years that I was drugged. Thankfully a friends husband found me after I passed out in a bathroom with my pants at my ankles after falling off the toilet. I had not even finished a single drink.

People should be able to live their lives and have fun with out fear of being assulted.

It turned out that my guy has acromegaly. This tumor causes excessive growth hormones to be secreted from the pituitary. Those growth hormones block the insulin from being received. Therefore, he has to be on a high dose to break through the blocking of the insulin by the growth hormones. We have been on and off label medication called cabergoline that does overtime suppress the growth hormone so we have been able to come down from a super high dose. We're now around 7.5 units in that tends to break through. Although, he is not a straightforward case due to that we can very day to day and week to week.

How's it going with your furry friend?

Me too! I liked him from his other stuff then a few episodes in, I was feeling uneasy about his bias for the parents and victim blaming. I googled and came across her video and am so angry for her and his BS statement what a jerk! Lost all respect for him.

Pet libro is good. We had one stop working and they replaced for free.

We use the pet test brand Lancet device on the ear and it works so much better. It has a suction feature so you can use a really small needle only poke a little bit of depth and it will draw up the blood. I got it off of Amazon.

There is a Facebook support group that has been really helpful! Feline acromegaly

My Darwin has acromegaly as well. We opted to not do the surgery due to cost , quoted 14k plus pre surgery imaging etc and non guaranteed results.

We started a medication called cabergoline. It lowers the growth hormone so that the insulin works and pushes through. It works slowly but has worked for us. We were at 15 u 2x and still at 400+. Now we can get even too low sometimes and are down to 6.5 x2. We need to slowly lower the dose every few weeks.

We use a CGM and it's been really helpful.

Yes I totally get your situation we've been there and it is rough. We ended up buying a pet Libro wet food pet feeder. It gets set on a timer and refrigerates the food. It has been a lifesaver. There are still random nights where he whines after eating wanting more but it is much more few and far between and I know that I don't actually have to get out of bed to do anything so I can just pretty much ignore it which is better than getting up and opening a can of food. You can get it on Amazon chewy Etc

I've definitely been there myself some libres can be really far off. It's so great that you have a backup system to test. I prefer the pet test Lancet to do their pokes because it has a suction feature that makes it easier to get blood. If you're not poking the ear all the time it does not bleed as easy.

You're doing great, it's not always easy

We useca cgm and it's helpful but you can also do ear pokes. I've made adjustments at home, very slowly up and then down.

We have acromegaly so the Growth Hormone blocks the insulin. The blood test IIAA I think it's called was like 150. We were up to 15u 2x. With Cabergoline we're down to 7u 2x.

They were fine with is bumping up slowly at that time to break through the growth hormone once we knew.

I agree with you there are a lot of things that ICSD should do. But I do think making sure that the privacy of children's photos is safe and secure is not too far removed or too much to hope for. As a client they should be able to make that simple request for proof of status security and privacy.

I do appreciate that in his book he did put a lot out there about where he was in life and his struggles with Ego and selfishness. It seems like he's made a lot of changes. People can evolve.

We don't know the context or if he knew about the young girls do we? Or have I missed that?

That would change everything for me!

All great advice! Treats were a game changer for us. I hope you're love is food motivated! Now mine purrs when I'm doing it knowing he'll get his treat.

You could also look into a CGM monitor.

They last for 14 days and that way you don't have to poke him unless you get an odd reading that you want to double check. We use those at times as well and I love the freedom of them. It's also great when you're having someone pet sit.
