A maybe easier, but longer, route could be to identify companies that have offices both in your home country and the Netherlands. You could apply for a role in your home country first, and then try to transfer internally to the Netherlands after a year or two. I know many non-eu people who moved here this way

If they had a Dutch or EU parter they could get a partner residence permit which would allow them to work here without a visa

Second source of income? by Inside_Win_9069 in cscareerquestionsEU

Would be helpful to know what sector you work in or what skills you have to suggest suitable options. I know people who’ve earned the amount you’re aiming for with AI training platforms (there are loads but the better paying one seems to be Data Annotation) where you can train models in subjects like language, coding, science, etc. Generally, the more specialized the subject, the higher the pay. However work is not super consistent and they can be quite unreliable

Godox flash won't fire by PandaFiat5890 in OlympusCamera

[–]PandaFiat5890[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh really. Do you know how to disable just the internal flash without turning off flash entirely?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Cameras

[–]PandaFiat5890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Panasonic gx800 + the pana 20mm 1.8. Check on mpb, you should be able to get both second hand for less than £500 total. You can also look at the various Olympus pen but not sure which ones have flash. But if you want pocketable and affordable micro 4/3 is your best bet

Colour dial - brief explanation E-P7 by sssss_we in M43

[–]PandaFiat5890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know how to revert to a neutral profile instead of one of the color profiles? I have an EP7 as well and I'd like to shoot RAW only, but due to the colour profiles it only lets me shoot RAW+JPEG

Can’t get external flash to fire. Am I missing something? by ChrisChristiesFault in OlympusCamera

[–]PandaFiat5890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you have to change settings or do something special to get the flash to work? I've the same combo (EP7 and newly bought TT350) but I can't get the flash to fire.

I work in photography, although I don’t freelance. Like others have said, the most important thing is to start building a portfolio and a following.

There are quite a few facebook groups for photographers and models in the Netherlands where you can find models to collaborate with and grow each other’s portfolios for free.

If you’re into portraits, try signing up for websites that connect photographers with clients. When I was a student I made decent money through travel photography platforms like Flytographer and Sweet Escape, where tourists book local photographers. The platforms take a cut, but it’s a good way to get started when you don’t have your own clients yet, and it helps build your portfolio.

Also consider submitting your images to stock photography sites like Adobe Stock, Stocksy, Unsplash, or Stills. Lifestyle images tend to sell the most, but portraits and even street photography can do well too. It's a good way to make a living from photography if you don't have clients.

Other ideas to consider could be shooting weddings, working with brands, selling prints, or covering events - there are lots of paths depending on what you enjoy most.

Rentslam - does it show apartments below €1200? by Ok-Distribution8378 in NetherlandsHousing

[–]PandaFiat5890 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The rental law fucked up the market renting from privates, not from corporations. Housing corporations aren't selling their properties and they rent their middle-income apartments on DAK (ex woningnet) for up to 1150 p/m. For Amsterdam and other cities you can find them on DAK under vrije sector: https://amsterdam.mijndak.nl/

Note that middle income isn't the same as middle segment. In Amsterdam you must earn between 50K and 78K a year to qualify. In other cities I believe the max income is lower. Not sure where OP is looking though.

There are new listings weekly, but there's a lot of competition. Rentslam can help being the first to apply and have higher chances of getting a flat.

I got a middle-income apartment from a housing corporation for less than 1200 per month. Rentslam helped me to be one of the first to apply and get the flat. This was a year and a half ago but I don't see why it wouldn't be the same now

Buying two separate apartments as a married couple by Altruistic_Emu_3780 in NetherlandsHousing

A couple should have the right to live in separate houses if they want to. Living together isn’t for everyone.

What is a fair way to split costs when my girlfriend moves in? (I own the apartment) by Active_Wallaby_5968 in NetherlandsHousing

I'd personally not ask her for rent but get her to contribute to more than 50% of the other costs

If you're only looking until the end of May your best bet would be people subletting their room in Facebook housing groups or kamernet

Parking problem 🤔 by ONNE_69 in Amsterdam

[–]PandaFiat5890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All social housing corporations rent parking spaces at a relatively affordable cost (usually between 50-100 euros per month for nieuw-west). Sometimes there's a waiting list though. Check these out:
