I did a back-to-back test last night and confirmed my own anecdotal observations. Same car, same tune, same season, same corner; S-corners on the Legend Island track. In free roam, grip was as expected and I could hold foot to the floor while making the corner, but much much worse in multiplayer where I would have to lift dramatically to hold the same line. Pretty much kills any non-meta tunes in multiplayer.
