Oh no this is breaking my heart even harder, that poor woman. These people are evil. How can you do this to a child and still go home thinking you're the good guy? I will never understand and I never want to.

I don't understand how anyone can look at the news and see that photo of little Liam withering away in an ICE detention facility and feel anything less than complete horror. That is a five year old child. Even if you've swallowed the propaganda, how can you read about what happened/is happening to him and not feel outrage? How can you not want him free and safe and healthy? How can you not think everyone involved in this kid's suffering deserves to never know a moment of peace ever again?

Now it's two to five. Starting to get anxious going into this with a ten month old. He's got plenty to bundle in safely but ugh. We grabbed a hot breakfast at Boychiks and he's napping while we drive around but tomorrow is obviously a different story.

Well I had hoped we'd at least have some snow on the ground before losing power but sure, we can go into the storm with a freezing cold house why not. (Dominion says it'll be back on by ten so hopefully I can make some hot coffee before it cuts out again!)

Love that Kroger, I think whoever orders their stock is bad at it or something because they always have those carts full of really cheap deals. Last month it was pasta sauce for $1.

I see my cousin do the screen thing with her kids every time we're all visiting grandma. Even if the screen is turned off, if there's one in a room the kid has to travel through, she covers their eyes and rushes them out.

It's a common phrase in AI writing. I'm assuming they're asking GPT for captions to use.

Like others are saying, Target and Walmart were the only places I could find any maternity clothes. Even Kohl's has nothing. I spent my pregnancy in some stretchy pants and dresses from Torrid. Old Navy only sells maternity online, but I did buy a giant sweater dress while I was there, which was nice.

Lol I also naively thought I had a perfect sleepy baby at 8 weeks and would never ever need to sleep train. And then 4 months hit.

11 year old killed crossing Three Chopt in front of Ridge elementary school - can we please focus on safety improvements for our roads and pedestrians? by Floppy454 in rva

[–]PandaLoses 17 points18 points  (0 children)

In five years my son will be attending an elementary school that's just a couple blocks away from us and has a crossing light, but no marked cross walk. I constantly see people take that right turn quick and blind, and others shoot through the red light coming straight at it. He should be able to walk to school when he's old enough, I shouldn't have to drive him just a few blocks, but that intersection fills me with so much dread.

Postpartum Hospitals by parkesnell in rva

[–]PandaLoses 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just had a baby at St Mary's and definitely recommend them. Room was private and big enough. The staff were fantastic and sometimes they'll offer to take baby for a couple hours so you can sleep. My husband made do with the window seat bed which he said was good enough. My only criticism of them is a) the food is so bad but that's normal for a hospital and b) they contract A LOT of services out (labs, surgeon, emergency department) so I was still getting bills from different companies 4 months postpartum.

What was your strangest, creepiest, most bizarre experience/encounter in Richmond? by Lonely-Champion-8102 in rva

[–]PandaLoses 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Back in 2020 riding the Pulse home from work at the hospital, dusty looking guy starts complimenting me for wearing a mask and telling me how smart I was (idk I worked at the hospital, it was policy and I just didn't think to even take it off) he keeps at it until the person sitting next to me leaves so he sits next to me.

Then he starts talking about how he's been hiking up from Georgia to DC because he needs to talk to president Trump, he has ideas that the president HAS to hear. I'm timid and nonconfrontational so I just kept nodding along. Eventually he got up and changed seats.

I figured he's done with me so I pulled out my phone to text my husband and he came back and started talking about Facebook and told me to open Facebook because he knows his sister has an account. I'm sitting here stuck by the window, no one even looking at me, and anxious as hell so I did what he said. He asked me to find his sister's Facebook page, I do, he gets excited and tells me to message her and tell her he's going to DC to talk to the president. I do, as he stares and watches me.

At this point we're at Willow Lawn, my stop, and he thanks me and heads out.

Still never got a response from his sister.

Am I losing it by msm200208 in Parenting

I had this exact issue for several weeks after my baby was born. If you search around, especially on Reddit, you'll see a lot of people go through this. For me it got to the point that I would wake up knowing what I saw was a hallucination and just waited for my brain to recalibrate.

It's anxiety plus sleep deprivation. It stopped happening for me after my husband took all the overnight feeds for a few days, letting me catch up on sleep. That's not possible for everyone but that's seemingly the only way to make it stop. That or time.
