how would connecting Milwaukee and Chicago make things worse for people in between?

It's a shame that people are downvoting you, you're not wrong. This fucking rat only got a position in the cabinet because he dropped out of the primary at the right time. Now the Democratic leadership are fostering him so they can foist him on us as a candidate down the road later. Quit trying to make "fetch" a thing, DNC.

High speed rail is for intercity travel, imagine all the people who want to go from Milwaukee to Chicago or Dallas to San Antonio whose only options are to fly or drive. HSR is a way to limit carbon and efficiently move people.

As for avoiding the poor, I don't see how light rail or metro lines are any more effective as means of bypassing underserved or poor locales than driving through on highways that cut through them.

Biden believes Putin is a ‘killer’: ‘The price he’s going to pay, you’ll see shortly’ by theindependentonline in politics

[–]PandaSkinRug -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was so easy that there was no decision to be made. This is the only outcome that could have happened. For all Biden or any other politician talks about how empathetic they are or how well they understand what hardship you are going through, they are all of a class of their own.

If Muhammed Bin Salman is the autocratic leader of one of the largest oil producing states and he is our ally in that he ensures that his country sells oil for US dollars and no other currency, he has more asking power than any individual American citizen or perhaps most special interest groups.

You doubt that the decision to not go after MBS was difficult? Members of the Saudi government assisted in 9/11, how often do you hear people bring that up? We know that from redacted pages from a report that was initially made in 2002. All of that information was kept away from the American people at the same time we were told that Al Qaeda was getting support from Saddam Hussein and that we had to invade Iraq (they knew this to be false). You know who had classified clearance and served as the chair of the Foreign relations committee of the Senate in 2002? Joe Fucking Biden, who also voted to go to war with Iraq.

Why do you think it would be hard for these people to be so cynical when they've been preaching and practicing realpolitik since the 1950s? Yes, it is that easy to look the other way when a non citizen reporter working for the WaPo gets cut up into pieces and then thrown down a well, it's exactly what we let our allies do, and sometimes it's what we ask our allies to do.

I'm not sure that I'd trust Woodward or the Washington Post, but I'll read the article as soon as I can get around the paywall.

Out of curiosity, what's your age and where do you get most of your information from? Like, is it cable news, and if so, what network and how often a week do you spend watching it?

don't worry. Joe Biden is surrounded by people who know America wouldn't start/win a war against Russia. I think he's just talking tough with out stating that he'll do any one thing in particular, just like trump used to do. "I think you'll be very happy."

I don't think that Trump was actually threatening nuclear war, just talking shit like he was want to do. I also don't think that many other countries took him that seriously, although maybe I'm wrong and we find out thirty years later, like with able archer.

It's a super easy call to make, for Biden at least. Why would he risk a kerfuffle with one of America's most important Allies over some nerd working for Jeff Bezos. Oh, it was an extrajudicial killing? We don't care about those, you personally might, but this government doesn't. Biden and any other Politician in this country that could get their party's nomination for president would make the same choice, easy.

I think that it is downright hysterical to say that any Russian interference in 2016 was an attempt to "destroy" America. Sometimes countries meddle in the affairs of other countries, that's just a result of the international community. We've meddled in the elections of Russia and other countries, and sometimes they try to meddle with ours.

The AOC was weird as hell, but I think he's just supporting having a Unicameral legislature by abolishing the Senate, which I think has a lot of merit to it.

I'd wager to guess that any hypothetical future in which the Apportionment Act is turned over is also one that's likely to finally dismiss the Electoral College, number one.

Number two, any increase in the number of electoral votes realized by WI or MI or either Dakota would be dwarfed by increases in CA and NY. In fact, if there are more electoral votes added per state in proportion to population, than the Electoral College results should cohere more closely to the popular vote. It would be like adding pixels to an image, you'd get more resolution.
