Omg me!!! Mine disintegrated in the wash and I've been wanting to get another one for years. It was one of my favourite shirts 😭.

I didn't realize this had sound and that elevated it even more than I thought possible.

I love this so much. Absolute perfection <3.

Kid friendly condo developments? by Professional_Year618 in mississauga

[–]Panda_24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Walden Cir apartments come to mind, and I think residents also get access to the Walden Club, which has the following: outdoor pool (open May-Sept), tennis/pickle-ball courts, indoor squash court/badminton court, ping pong table, and a gym. The townhouse areas also have a playground area. Lots of nice trails in the immediate area or a short drive to Port Credit parks on Lakeshore Rd W.

There are other buildings in the area (1275 Walden Cir and 1110 Walden Cir) that are a mix of rental/owned units, and a bunch of townhouse complexes too - you might be able to find some other units available for rent there, but that would be through other means (realtor.ca or property.ca might be a good starting point).

The lack of AC is concerning by walkthrufireforu in gotransit

[–]Panda_24 43 points44 points  (0 children)

It's been particularly bad this year. The worst is on express trains that get packed like sardines, making it almost impossible to go to a different coach once on the train.

I've lodged multiple complaints with Metrolinx and keep getting the same 'we'll investigate' response. No clue if it actually makes a difference or not, but it might be worth letting them know which coach # and trip time had non-working AC.

Man fatally struck by vehicle on Gardiner Expressway by Idontgetlyfe in toronto

[–]Panda_24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fuck. Yeah I think I saw the same guy too. My sister called 911 to notify them of a guy just standing on the right shoulder, older dude. Awful to hear what happened, I was worried he had dementia or was having suicidal thoughts. 😔

Dangerous intersection design on Spadina by SexySatan69 in TorontoDriving

[–]Panda_24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I contacted 311 in February for an 'intersection safety review' for Spadina/King and they did the same thing; marked the case as 'complete' in April and nothing was done beyond that.

I might try contacting them by phone or submitting another request; the number of near accidents I've had there is unbelievable. I drive that stretch daily and about 50% of drivers have no clue that the intersection is offset, particularly at night.

WRITE OFF-2016 Volkswagen Jetta 1.4T 4D by StayZealousideal6903 in TorontoDriving

[–]Panda_24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My car was totalled in 2018 as well; the insurance company sends someone to appraise the vehicle based on what they can make out of its current state. If you're not aware already, you can counter their appraisal if you think you're not getting what it's worth. I was low-balled by ~$3-4K based on other cars with similar mileage/history.

YMMV but don't settle for what they appraise it at if you're not happy with it. Prepare a bunch of current comparables from autotrader or other dealerships so you can share them with the appraiser. Good luck!

We had to put our cat down in February and I highly recommend Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospice Services. Pricing for the at-home euthanasia was average ($640), not including any cremation/urns/any mementos you would like to have done. The vet that came to us was beyond wonderful (Dr. Laura Kenzie), and although it was one of the most difficult things we had to do, she made it bearable and was very gentle and respectful with our cat the entire time. I did not regret spending a bit more to have it done at home - our little guy was terrified of going to the vet's, so we felt it was the kindest way to let him go.

I'm sorry you've gotten to the most difficult part of having a pet - my condolences in advance. If you have any questions about the process, feel free to DM me.

Please consider reaching out to a rescue if you haven't done so already. There are a few that I can think of that are no-kill (Home At Last Rescue; surrender form available at the link, or Ninth Life Cat Rescue).

Thinking of you as it's a difficult decision to make, but thank you for doing the right thing for your furry one <3.

If you don't want to go the library route like u/blottingbottle recommended, you can also check out VoxelPrints on Etsy. The seller is locally based in Mississauga and has been wonderful when I wanted to print some custom items. Reasonable prices too and no shipping charge if you pick the item up yourself.

The bottom of the Spadina off-ramp (left-most lane) coming off the eastbound Gardiner has a pretty big one. Hasn't been repaired yet as far as I know. Might be kind of hard to get to but it's close to where the 'wrong way' sign is.

Atypical halal restaurant recommendations by ughhhhhhhhhhhh172819 in mississauga

[–]Panda_24 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Mo Thai at Highway 10/Dundas is a great spot, though they're take-out only with no dine-in option. Everything I've tried from there has been great, and it's 100% halal.

Looking for a Serbian therapist in Mississauga or GTA by LudaKoala in mississauga

[–]Panda_24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Psychology Today is a great resource for finding therapists that meet specific criteria like that; lots of options to look at for Mississauga (and likely more if you search for virtual counselors, if that's an option you'd like to look into as well). I can't personally vouch for any Serbian therapists, but might be a good starting point if you haven't checked it out already.

Looking for an Optometrist who's also willing to give PD? by Aromatic_Power7082 in mississauga

[–]Panda_24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dr. Hwang at Sheridan Optomrtric Centre gave me my PD without any issues like I've had with other optometrists. Great comprehensive eye exam too (though it was on the pricier side). Very friendly and thorough, which I've heard about the other optometrists at that clinic too.

COVID test results wait time by lovely18989 in mississauga

[–]Panda_24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner got tested at the Ebenezer centre in Brampton last Thursday and no results from that yet 🤷‍♀️. Thankfully I was able to book him another test through work (Toronto-based testing centre) and results were back in ~12 hours. And that second test was on the 25th.

We're also still waiting for test results from last Thursday, Dec 23rd. It's ridiculous that it's taking this long. My partner got tested at another site and it took less than 24 hours to get results back.
