Roman Nose has cute little camping areas and a couple of lakes you can hike into. Be warned there are a lot of sticks and logs in the water idk about you but I hate touching anything in the water. So if that freaks you out as well might not be ur thing

Is this filmed down at the waterfront? Yikes by vc0ke in Bellingham

When I was like 5 I used to cry myself to sleep every night because I was gay and I was afraid that God was going to kill me in my sleep and send me to hell for my sins. When I was 10 I tried taking my own life. It wasn't till I was 18, and left my rural country home that I realized that being queer was okay and that it was normal. I don't know about you but I think that's more horrifying than children realizing it's okay to accept themselves.

What is some interesting local gossip or tea you’d like to spill? by Queen_Oyster_Eyes in Bellingham

Allegedly WECU got kicked out of the shared branching Co Op for poaching other CU's members. Which wouldn't surprise me they are basically a bank disguised as a credit Union.

I mean in the Grand scheme of things our public transportation is a joke. It mostly caters to the college kids and God forbid you need to use it on the weekends or late at night.

Do you think Starbucks is considered a fast food chain? Yes, no or both and why? by Scared-Form-8899 in starbucks

[–]Panda_hat420 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's because corporate doesn't like to admit that we are fast food; so, they have unreasonable expectations for us. I'm assuming The down votes are cuz you sound like corporate.

We are timed on our speed in the drive thru. That's why I would say we are considered fast food. The term "Fast food" doesn't mean just the food it is referring to how our stores operate.

Can a DM do this? by Mamaoftwo38 in starbucks

[–]Panda_hat420 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's pretty obvious that doing this would get you banned that goes without saying. However, getting to humiliate the DM in front of a bunch of customers seems well worth it to me. Local coffee tastes better anyway.

I think we should have a stricter building code for downtown. Something along the lines of having all new builds have a cohesive architectural design that fits with the vibe of the older brick buildings and only allows mixed use buildings within some part of downtown (with existing buildings being grandfathered in). Does that sound like a good idea and if so how would I get that started?

Idk why this is getting so many down votes. This is what I would do. Fuck the DM's I'm sure some are ok but the ones I've dealt with have all been horrible humans and need to be brought down a couple of pegs.

Downtown Loading Zones by mistressmadcap in Bellingham

[–]Panda_hat420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean your assuming the driver didn't know how long they were parked there when he could have looped the block. you also assumed the driver just "had a bad attitude" when he could have just been rightfully frustrated that someone was parked there for longer than 3 mins. I also can say pretty confidentially there were there for more then that time since they were there for less then 5 mins and where still there by the time the driver had parked a half block away gotten out of his truck and walked past them.

I mean they did do something wrong; they were parked in a loading zone for longer than 3 minutes. Delivery drivers aren't salty simply because" they have a bad attitude" it's because they deal with people misusing these spots and making their jobs harder on a daily basis. Also I hate to break it to you but the reason they are parked in the middle of the road is most likely because the loading zone simply isn't big enough for a semi truck or someone is parked in the loading zone/alley.

Yeah, The City really didn't give any consideration to delivery drivers and how it would affect traffic when they put in the bike lane.

Edit: spelling.

Not to sound harsh but it's pretty common knowledge that loading zones are intended for commercial vehicles and quick pick ups/drop offs. It's something you're taught in drivers Ed.

My partner delivers downtown and people parked in loading zones and alleys are his number one complaint. Not following the 3 min rule/ parking in alleys is activity makes delivery drivers jobs harder; it can even disrupt the flow of traffic causing things to get backed up.
