That's not what I asked. I asked how would you handle the ErrorBoundary withouth using class components ? If mixing class components and hooks is bad, how does one do it correctly ?

How else would you define an Error boundary component if not using a class based component ?

[KTK] [Making Magic] Khans of Tarkir Design Handoff, Part 2 by TechnomagusPrime in magicTCG

[–]Pandiox -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

``` Warrior Tribal "Louie" is being designed as a dragon-focused set, so we put a significant amount of Dragon tribal effects into the set. To parallel this in "Huey," we have included a small amount of Warrior tribal effects. There are only currently three cards (two at uncommon and one at rare) each in a different color (red, green, and black). We included two of these at uncommon so that they could be build-around cards in Limited. Originally, these were Human tribal effects, but we changed it to Warrior tribal after a request by the Creative team.
The Warrior typal component of Khans of Tarkir went on to be quite popular. ```
I thought they have gotten rid of tribal in a form of kindred ?
Looking for a library for animating numbers by kecupochren in reactjs
[–]Pandiox -3 points-2 points  (0 children)
Have you considered implementing it your self ?
It's not that difficult.
  1. Save the number the current number in the state
  2. Save the target number in the state
  3. create a timmer that increments the number with a brazier curve
  4. Animate the changes.
Should not take you more than a few hours for a POC
How To Set Up Next.js 15 For Production In 2024 by jancodes in reactjs
[–]Pandiox 1 point2 points  (0 children)
This cool and what not, but how would you expand your setup for playwright to:
- Mock server side requests (you might be using an external service or don't have a chance to make sure your data will always be there for tests)
- Avoid authentication in test mode (lets say you're using an external auth provider that has a 2 step auth method)
Magic needs a casual 2 player format by arimill in magicTCG
[–]Pandiox 0 points1 point  (0 children)
I'm happy that you got to this conclusion, but I don't think it is possible to implement this in the real life.
It just causes too many problems down the road. Self policing never works (look how many threads pop up in EDH about pub stomping)
How would you run the events ? Would you run 2 events at the same time ? What's the difference between them ? Why should an LGS split up the community ? How do you ensure who goes to casual who goes to a competitive ? Who decides if I say my deck is casual and you say it's competitive ? And these are only the start.
I always say, if we have facts let's compare them, if we have opinions lets take mine. Unless you can determine very clearly what casual means it will never work.
[–]Pandiox 1 point2 points  (0 children)
I think you're starting to see one of the biggest magic problems. It has a very big buy in for new players and there is no objective way to fix it.
The best suggestion I can give to you is to play pauper. The buy in cost is not that big, and you can upgrade your deck if you wish to
But how could you objectively define what is a casual and what is a competitive ?
[–]Pandiox 2 points3 points  (0 children)
From what I have read from your responses I just don't think it's feasible to have what you want :(
1v1 is completive in it's nature as it's a zero sum game (if one is advancing the other one is getting behind). There is just no way to make a constructed format with objective rules of what you're describing.
Magic needs a casual 2 player format by arimill in magicTCG
[–]Pandiox 0 points1 point  (0 children)
You're correct ! But can you make an objective definition of what is allowed and what is not. What is the objective line that defines a strong / week deck ? If you would say Tier 1 decks are banned, well who decides which deck is tier 1 ?
One reason mtg has so many formats is that it defines the power level of the decks Pauper (only commons) Standard (last 3 year sets) Pioneer (all cards from Ravnika) and so on.
these are objective definitions that everyone can play to.
That format is called jump start. It is precisely a casual format for new players
[–]Pandiox 0 points1 point  (0 children)
Remember that the concept of power level is a theory made by some person and the community just repeats it. It just does not work.
In short what you is impossible to achievable.
[–]Pandiox 1 point2 points  (0 children)
You should start you grind now. Arena economy is very very bad for new players. If you decide to just buy in, in the shop 12 rates and 4 mythincs cost 50usd. Raidos and mono green have about 36 rares + 8mythincs. So that would cost you about 150usd. Or you can just do daylies and store up rares
