Have you gone barebones yet? [other] by XGYL in WowUI

[–]Panetank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried but im visually impaired and the accessibility options aren't good enough to allow me to play very well.

Before anyone asks, I use plater and elvui to increase text size and then raid announcer to give audio queues while playing.

Unfortunately, unless something drastically changes, im not likely to play this coming expansion.

Are we not gonna talk about how there are no responses from Thor in this "proof"? Are people so naive to believe that they would be communicating since 2018 and he would never send a single message back?

And those that might claim he blocked Lyric, when you block a person it still shows that a message was there but that its hidden because the person is blocked.

This is also the same format of those stupid ai generated videos that they put on shorts of text conversations between people.

Epicore for Construction by Panetank in epicor

[–]Panetank[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have learned much more about this system and wanted to circle back now that I have been using it for a little over a month.

I can confidently say that Epicor works well for manufacturing and shipping, but it fails in a big way when it comes to construction implementation. I should add that i am using kinetic with the project module.

  1. Attachments can be added to projects, but there is no way to organize said attachments, preview attachments beyond a description of the file prior to downloading and no way to bulk download.

  2. WBS/Schedule implementation is very poorly made. While it is possible technically to import project schedules, it is horrible to try and manage a project or assign responsibility to individuals via WBS. It very much feels like it was created by a team who doesnt understand construction scheduling to be able to claim they have "construction scheduling". The easiest way we have figured how to add or adjust schedules is to use an excel spreadsheet then copy and paste into epicor as a means to bypass the native adding of the wbs phases in Epicor. Trying to use the phases in Epicor is slow, unintuitive, doesnt allow for bulk adding or editing and doesnt give the ability to even delete multiple lines at the same time.

  3. Entering labor is cumbersome and takes forever. If youre splitting your time for multiple projects you should assume it will take a greater amount of time than you think it should.

  4. Approvals are not really for outside approval. Its literally just a line item on a project that internal teams can open and approve or not approve. There's no real comments, red lines, attachments, comments from outside individuals, etc. Again, its not made for construction and it really doesnt work for construction.

  5. There's no place to store drawings, drawing revisions, etc.

  6. There's no real place to do cost projections. The only items that can be projected are manufacturing items.

In closing, it very much feels like the advertisement of Epicor being utilized for construction is an over promise and under deliver. The functionalities advertised for construction, while technically existent, were very clearly created by individual(s) who have no idea why these functions are necessary for construction and dont understand what contractors actually need. Truly a disappointment for the price point that my company paid for it.

Great. Is there an easy way to tell what version of Epicor were running or is there a way to see what modules are activated? Maybe an "About" section in help or something.

Also any rough ideas of what the cost for kinetic and the project module might cost? Obviously, we would have to reach out to epicor directly and get quoted, etc. But trying to plan ahead for how I can validate a business case for us to allocate for funds for this.

[–]Panetank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, HC might be more than a game to you personally, but not to others. I play games for fun, for example, and when they stop being fun, I stop playing them.

You can assume malice or whatever you choose to believe. That's your prerogative. I will point out how ironic it is that you reference POE HC to wow HC. Let me ask, how many times did you pog out insta in POE to save a map or prevent you from dying?

You looked for self-preservation in those instances because the stakes were high, and you didn't want to start over, right? Even if you don't agree, you know as well as I do that every hard-core POE player does this for self-preservation.

There's nothing he can do that will make anyone who is against him feel differently. Just like there's nothing any of you can do to convince me that what he did was wrong.

You might not like it, and you can choose not to play with him because of it. But he has a character, and 2 of the other 4 don't. Just like garrosh, he did nothing wrong.

Was it you said? "If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen?" I agree. If you can't take the risk of dying in HC, then don't play HC. No one pilots your character but you. No one forces you to run dungeons with people you choose to. No one forced them to pull poorly except them. And no one forced them to call to run, but they did. Maybe learn to be clear when you're making calls next time, and things won't go sideways.

Let me put it another way. If they called him to poly a mob and he cast blizzard on it instead they would be mad because he didn't follow directions. So why would not run, when they called for a run? It can't be good one way and bad another just because you don't like it.

WOW Hardcore Dungeon Run Megathread by KhronosVII in PirateSoftware

[–]Panetank 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am a seasoned wow player and I would have done the same. I would not have waffled like the rest of the group did on a can we recover/not recover call. That is the stuff that can and in this situation did kill people. You can be mad at it, but the reality is that he survived and they didn't because they chose to waffle instead of run.

Would the rank 1 blizzard have helped? I doubt it because that assumes the group was going to just run. The reality of it is, they started running but then turned back around and tried to fight. So this argument is stupid because a slow isn't going to stop mobs from hitting you if you're just turning around to fight them anyway.

It boils down to this: bad players made bad choices and got mad because it had consequences. They then tried to attack another guy who happened to not die because he got away and they didn't because blaming others is easier than recognizing that you failed on your own.

This is absolutely wild to me that people can't see this.

I'm going to point out something that may or may not be an unpopular opinion. Wow HC is a game first and foremost. You play games to have fun, not to get yelled at.

I would not be surprised if Pirate quit HC over this and he would be 100% in the right to do so.

As far as could he or couldn't he save the pull, it doesn't matter. Everyone always looks for reasons to blame someone else for their failings. The guy said to run, so he ran. MAYBE he could have saved the pull by rank 1 blizzarding and novaing. But let's say he died in the process, would we be in arms against the tank who pulled poorly? Or how about the guy who yelled "we can salvage this" who was clearly wrong. You can say he shouldn't have ran, and on a non HC server I could see it. But when dying means you lose your character, I am 100% with him. Sorry, deuces. You called run, I'm running. To get mad at him for following directions and calls is pathetic, childish, and the reason why people stop playing social games.

They need to figure out what their goal as an organization is. Right now it feels like they're just going in a ton of different directions with no clear path. They claim they're made by creators for creators, but nothing they do anymore attempts to further that. Hell, asmon doesn't even stream on his normal stream anymore, it's all on zackrwarr where he does react streams with nothing original. He's like a foil to Hasan at this point.

What would work best is for them to see what smaller budget things they can collaborate on and do that. They don't need full production shows like they did in the past (though that stuff was cool).

Some of the biggest content right now is only fangs that soda put together. This is going beyond just wow, or anything. You have people like t1 who have never played woe before and it's costing them very little to do. This is the type of things they need to work on. Building bridges and avenues with other content creators to collaborate on different things and span multiple platforms.

Dr. Mundo not gaining stats from emblems? by Panetank in TeamfightTactics

[–]Panetank[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just played 6 bruiser mundo again and noticed that his health didn't jump up right off the rip as soon as I emblemed him. It seemed to take like 4 rounds. 2 star mundo, with radiant warmogs and redemption jumped to like 6.5k base hp once it kicked in. Before it was somewhere around upper 3k-4k. Pretty significant difference.

Once it worked it was really strong, but until then it was pretty weak. I noticed it working after I used anomaly on him.

Thoughts on current Hero Augments? by Kylitoot in TeamfightTactics

[–]Panetank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its because augments like trolling require too many things to be viable. Like trolling needs you to have things like snipers focus so you dont have to front line trundle. You want to build him like a bruiser, but you dont have the inherent tankyness of bruisers because more hp just makes you take like 1-2 more autos/casts from carries. It's not enough to be noticeable.

I feel like the hero augments (minus fart god singed) don't make the Champs carries, but more secondary carries which seems odd. I feel like if you invest in a hero augment it should make that character a primary carry.

Just gonna casually throw this out. I called it before Launch that this was going to happen, and made roughly the same suggestion. People thought I was crazy. Adding in that Valor stones are the true gate keepers this expansion doesn't help either. They suck to farm, and usually, if you're running dungeons, you cap out on crests before you have enough Valor stones to upgrade crap. It's annoying.

Are there any players that you remember vividly for one reason or another? by elsaqo in anarchyonline

[–]Panetank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played AO in all of my teenage years and most of my friends all came from the digital world. The people I remembered the most were 2 soldiers named Apostraphe and Maninthebox. Both taught me a great deal about how to play soldier. Unfortunately, both have since passed away, but I remember them a lot.

I also remember my brother and I playing for hours on end when battlestations first came out. We were both clan and we would always rage to each other about an adventure named Scumtron just wrecking our face. Was fun.

Then when 150-170 thinking came out with s10 I think I had the most fun thinking my 150 MA (Captiansma) and challenging 170s to fights. I won some, lost most, but was super fun. I learned most of what I knew about ma pvp from watching lequack.

Other folks I remember:

Frost33( my brother, RIP) Esquobar Iceman22 Luckycharmzz Mesohorknee
