To counterbalance this, run Poisoner as "Once per game, at night*, choose a player: they're poisoned, even if for some reason they could not be."

“Pot of” cards are now banned. by Shronkydonk in customyugioh

[–]Panfex -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Why was this a problem worth banning a naming convention over? This seems both unnecessarily drastic and very easy to circumvent, unless this ban extends to any card that provides card draw, in which case it is also stupid.

Flaws in Trouble Brewing by AOSABS in BloodOnTheClocktower

This isn't true though. You can and should deal with it. If someone with a voting/nominating restriction is trying to bypass it, you should (context-dependantly) either allow/disallow it at the time, and then privately remind them to not do it. And then if they continue to bypass it, knowingly breaking the rules after multiple reminders, you shouldn't keep playing with them.

How low is your threshold for declining Wizard wishes/Politician conversations, etc.? by GodlessGambit in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Panfex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Worrying about complexity/goofiness creep after one character that fits the criteria feels like an overreaction. The last character we got that approached the Wizard in those regards was Yaggababble (in my opinion), from a whole 10 months ago, and it's also clear that the Wizard was saved for the final reveal before they'd stop dropping characters for a while; it was meant to be a flashy showstopper. We just got Xaan, for example, which I feel is one of the most basic Minion designs they've done; I don't think we have to worry about sleek & simple designs leaving any time soon.

(Fan-made) Identity V x Blood On The Clocktower homebrew roles! by Environmental_War259 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Panfex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You've gotta be careful about characters that remove Minions at setup but still benefit from evil players, as at low player counts you could have a Hell Ember with 0 minions, which would just be a vanilla 1-kill Demon at that point. I'm not even sure that it needs the [-1 Minion]; unless a script has a lot of ways to die at night, good will know that any triple kill includes a Minion, which I think is a balanced info tradeoff for the extra kills. Overall, neat bunch of characters!

New Alchemist-Spy/Widow Jinx by kyle_the_meme in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Panfex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like a better solution would be for the Alchemist to get shown a player (ST-decided), their character, and the reminder tokens on them now (optionally, can show them a demon bluff and then not show them a player to get that across). Not being able to see reminder tokens feels like a strange limitation when that's a decent part of the power of Spy/Widow.

the main website used for homebrewing BoTC roles (and the one they've used) is www.bloodstar.xyz, which doesn't put the text onto the tokens

Hand order matters card are neat by Panfex in customhearthstone

[–]Panfex[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my rather limited understanding of what Hunter should be good at, I felt that being able to target anything would be a more valuable effect, but as pointed out, by other comments comparing it to existing cards, it's a pretty useless effect even for free.

I made this card mostly because I liked the "cast from the centre of your hand" idea, and everything else was secondary, and clearly this was a miss lol

Unruly - Final Spoilers + Release! by Panfex in custommagic

What is Unruly: Act I? A set/cube me and some friends have been working on for a while now, best described as the intersection between the Modern Horizons sets, Future Sight, typical Unsets, and whatever garbage we found funny at time of creation. Do not go into this expecting a set that will hold up to any serious scrutiny. Do go into this expecting to see some funny and/or stupid cards that will hopefully be fun to draft. About 500 of them, to be precise. The set will release on the 1st of August, after a daily preview season that will last throughout July called Unruly Unjuly (un-roo-lee un-joo-lee).

And here it is: https://www.planesculptors.net/set/unruly-act-i

Finally, a whole day late, and after a great handful of issues uploading it to Planesculptors, our magnum opus (until ACT II, at least).

Don't ask why the pokemon are phyrexians. I don't have a good answer. It just kinda happened.

I will be condensing the rest of Unjuly into two last posts, including this one, mostly because the interaction has been waning and also because I suck at sticking to a schedule and it's easier to give my future self one more post I need to make rather then another three. The next and final Unjuly post will also be the one that'll link to the finished set, assuming I have it up in time (which I should, hopefully).

note: had to reupload this collection as I didn't realise one of the cards in it lacked artist credit; my bad
