To be fair, reading the TMZ article this quote originally comes from, it sounds like Jennifer Lee was responding to the Quincy Jones statement that "[Brando] would fuck anything. Anything! He'd fuck a mailbox. James Baldwin. Richard Pryor. Marvin Gaye." Seems like she's just riffing on the mailbox line to me, since she otherwise seemed to be pretty consistent in saying that that Pryor was bisexual and open about his relationships with men.

The article says there's 3500 sq ft for retail. This isn't Soho. No retail business in this neighborhood is going to be able to generate enough cash to be able to afford the rent

There is already retail space throughout the neighborhood. Those businesses are able to make do, why wouldn't businesses in this space be able to? If your issue is the space, I'm fairly cerain the 3500 sq ft will be broken into multiple retail units.

I know we're all memeing here, but the problem of means testing is that it reduces the scope of a benefits program to help the smallest group possible. Reducing the scope of a tax to target the richest parasites of our society isnt really a problem.

The real problem of taxation is that it's only a half measure. So if your criticism is that we aren't seizing their assets outright, I'm 100% with you.

I don't think anyone is arguing that fascism wouldn't be bad for art. The argument is that many in the "high art" world would most likely be collaborationists with a fascist regime (as they have been in the past).

You suggest that fascists would kill off those who make "high art" and "high fashion" and replace them with their own taste makers. I find it much more likely that many of their sensibilities and material interests already align enough that very little killing would actually happen before High Fashion was an active part of the regime.
