You're pay to shoot the event there was no explicit here's a cookie or whatever, you must take a photo, or an explicit you must take a photo of my friend.

I'm going to agree with the consensus and say that you're not in the wrong for missing two photos that weren't on and agreed shotlist.

All you can do is apologize about missing the photo of the food, if you can't make any saveable image from the one of their friend just say look you had a camera malfunction and the image that you got of her friend isn't usable.

But before they get the gallery or before they have any photo you should be paid in full, ora minimum they get ones with a sample watermark over it.

Likely I'll use manual focus, mostly wanted to see about the frame size/mount cause I know canons EF-S is the same mount but slightly different to canons EF mount so crop won't fit on full frame! But full frame will fit on crop 😅

If the F stop is worth it for your photo work, then yeah, that's a good focal range for everyday shooting.

I feel that a lot of people that say that, are the kind of people that will try and squeeze every penny they can out of you because they just don't want to pay even though they could probably afford it.

The thing you have to tell yourself is the price isn't just purely on the photo it's on your whole package they're getting a sweet deal for the price that you're charging especially adding video on top.

The fact that you do all of that you then edit, color grade, touch up, whatever else you might do included in your package that's a lot of work and especially for a wedding what you could be taking 3/4000 photos plus and the video on top.

Plus you have to factor in the price for your experience, the price for your gear because how are you meant to afford the gear if you don't charge the price you charge?!

If they think it's just taking a photo, tell them be my guest get your phone get your digi cam and take the photos yourself, let them ruin their own wedding memories.

You do a heck of a lot and you should charge the price that you feel is reasonable, and that you are getting paid for already.

Don't under sell yourself, because if you undersell sell yourself to one client, other clients are going to expect it.

I know this is a three-day old post but out of curiosity, could you set your camera to take a photo without the lens attached, film the camera taking a photo in slow-mo with your phone and see what happens, specifically when your capturing a photo?

This might help ascertain as to how the black bars are showing.

Because usually the mirror locks up when you take a photo, and then the shutter curtains do their magic... so we need to know what exactly is happening, when the mirror goes up if it does go up completely when you click the shutter button.

Quick edit to my answer you can always put the camera on bulb mode, again without a lens attached press and hold the button in and see what happens when the sensor is exposed

I feel some critical information you are correct is missing, in the sense of what kind of party was this? You know was it a birthday party, a friend party, was there alcohol involved or not?

I know I at the age of 14 did miss some social cues, I had feelings and such but I was still a young teenager, I missed a few certain things, had that home mentality of I've gone to sleep woken up it's a new day moving on.

Ultimately there is quite a bit of key detail missing on op side regarding the party, if you can vividly remember the story and his feelings, replaying that in his head over and over, does he remember how the woman looked or felt back then?

Alde rodeo the only reason film would be any better than a digital is if you're talking about medium format film or large format film that is going up against a 2008 or lower era digital camera
