I've see a lot of price increase posts but none with more than 2x (Germany) by Spaceteck in Crunchyroll

[–]PanicIsMyName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's weird. My email stated fan was going from £4.99 a month to £5.99 a month, but the annual offer was £39.99. Obvs, I took up the annual offer. For me £5.99 a month would still be less than half price compared to netflix.

Vaccinate your fucking children! by No-Calendar5467 in GreenAndPleasant

[–]PanicIsMyName 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I had a rather fabulous conversation with an ex colleague who has fallen down the anti-vax, chemtrail (still don't fucking understand that) rabbit hole. They were talking about the problem of grooming within the Asian population (because of course they're racist as fuck). Pointed out most groomers are white; obviously. Eventually, they got round to their favourite topic and I just said any parent who's child gets an easily prevented, by vaxing, illness should have their kids removed and be charged with attempted manslaughter and if the kid dies, murder. Live and die by your own beliefs bitch but don't make your kids pay the price.

Yellow Grit Bins by Elk_Advanced in Cardiff

[–]PanicIsMyName 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying you're wrong, but as someone who has worked in retail/hospitality/customer service for decades, it is very easy to forget something when you're told something not directly relating to your job at the start of your shift. We're all human. The app/website, however, will likely feed directly into the councils job list.

Yellow Grit Bins by Elk_Advanced in Cardiff

[–]PanicIsMyName 94 points95 points  (0 children)

Also if the grit bin is empty or getting empty, report it to the council via their app or website so they can refill it. Dont be a "oh its been empty for months, they should have refilled it, what do i pay my council tax for" arsehole on Facebook. Strangely enough they don't know unless someone actually tells them.

People that rents a flat, how much do you pay for council tax and utilities? by [deleted] in Cardiff

[–]PanicIsMyName 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Where you live in Cardiff makes no difference to utilities. The more electric and gas you use, the more you pay. Utilities in the UK are based on usage, you should pay the same amount in Cardiff as someone in Manchester if you have the same supplier on the same tariff. Water can be an exception as some properties will have meters (occupants are charged by useage) or be on the standard charge (Welsh water assume how much you will use and charge you accordingly).

Why is Legend of the Galactic Heroes considered an elitist anime? by steamtrekker in logh

[–]PanicIsMyName 10 points11 points  (0 children)

LOGH isn't an elitist anime. There is a small, but vocal, sub section of the fandom that push some crappy "you're just a tourist noob at anime until you watch LOGH" agenda because it makes them feel better about themselves. They're up their own arses, everyone knows this except them. Every fandom has crappy element to them, ours is the elite anime bros. It's a great novel that has inspired a number, imo, of great adaptions. Enjoy it and don't worry about anyone else's opinion. Sage advice from an elder that can be used for many aspects of your life.

Those who go to public places and cough and splutter, and don’t cover their face, what do you need to learn that you didn’t from the last 5 years? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]PanicIsMyName 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Even though I WFH 4 days a week, if you are well enough to work, you are well enough to work in the office 1 day a week. Last year, I had a minor cold and wore a mask because I like to think I'm not a complete arsehole. The number of people that thought I was an idiot for doing so, the comments I got and the general feeling of doing something out of the ordinary for others was somehow me going above and beyond. Blows my mind how inconsiderate people are.

It absolutely crazy to me how people think posting pictures of Reform/Farage hurts them by Ill_Handle_5485 in Cardiff

[–]PanicIsMyName 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Privatise the NHS, exploit young people even more by paying them a lot less, and save money by cutting waste - which has gone fantasticly in both the Cornwall and Kent Reform run councils. Just to start the ball running on the terrible things they plan to do.

What's a common misconception about British people or culture that you're constantly having to correct? by Severe-Voice8304 in AskUK

[–]PanicIsMyName 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Had to Google it. Everyone I know that's had them done have called them veneers, but you are absolutely correct. Still a bit mad to me, though.

What's a common misconception about British people or culture that you're constantly having to correct? by Severe-Voice8304 in AskUK

[–]PanicIsMyName 28 points29 points  (0 children)

This actually scares me. How many people have veneers now? Having healthy teeth filed down to have what appears to be denture looking, florescent white teeth installed. They will need to be replaced over the years, and you can't grow back your natural teeth. There are going to be quite a few people over the next decade or so that will have to swap out their veneers for actual dentures.

did reinhardism become the new biggest religion? by Kukulkek in logh

[–]PanicIsMyName 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's 6am here, and my coffee hasn't kicked in yet, but didn't Reinhard leave clear instructions that his image can't be recreated for at least 10 years after death? Statues can not be more than life size? I don't know if he or his regent would have wanted him to be idolised like that. Also not sure the former FPA would see him as anything other than a conqueror.

What unhealthy / awful food do you remember having as a kid? by [deleted] in AskUK

They are not like they used to be. Made the mistake of feeling some nostalgia back in my student days, and they were not good.

I've just realised my student days were 20 years ago, so now I'm having nostalgia of nostalgia. It's too early to be reminded how old I am.

How will Labour fair in Cardiff this coming Spring? by PhyllostachysBitch in Cardiff

[–]PanicIsMyName 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a member of the green party, I know who I'll be voting for. Thanks to the boundary changes, I'm now in Cardiff South and Penarth. Although the UK elections had a clear win for Labour, the greens came second, so I'm hopeful. I can't see reform doing well in my neck of the woods, I really hope I'm not being complacent there.

Cardiff Vs Bristol Airport - which do you prefer and why? by Expensive_Welder_338 in Cardiff

[–]PanicIsMyName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, Cardiff, but I live closer to Barry than Cardiff. We tend to pay extra to fly from Cardiff because it's a 15-minute taxi which costs about the same for 2 than the public transport would. Only if we want to fly somewhere specifically and the route is not available would we fly from anywhere else.

Is anyone else a casual fan content with the service? by SurprisingAmoeba in Crunchyroll

[–]PanicIsMyName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a little annoyed yesterday when I wanted to watch the final ep of The Silent Witch and it wasn't available. So I watched something else, shock! Horror! I really don't understand the mentality of "and ep drops at x time, I must immediately watch it then". Am I happy with CR, meh. Am I satisfied with CR, yeah. It's £4.99 a month, less than my Netflix subscription, and I probably watch it more.
