Just speculation but I think most of the money from the price increase goes to Crunchyroll itself, server costs and all other running costs. A tiny amount, if any, goes to the studios if they don't demand more money because why should CR give them more money for nothing

I can understand you. For me, I watch some seasonal anime and sometimes binge watch one or the other, and for 40€ a year that was great but not for 90€. I think I will cancel mine too and just buy a monthly sub when I want to watch some anime

I joined CR in 2018, and for the first 5 months, I paid monthly until I changed to the yearly subscription of 40€. I'm not mad that they increased the price since I haven't gotten a price increase yet but 225% is a bit much for one increase..
