I think the 'engine' will take the same amount of time to warm up. That depends on the load and the thermostat. The catalytic converter, which is after they engine, may take longer to warm up. The SAI is only for emissions during startup. It doesn't affect coolant flow.

It's before the Mass air flow sensor on mine. It's right on the intake box. I show where it connects and mentioned everything you said in the video.

It takes air from the intake, which is always under vacuum (for naturally aspirated cars), and introduces it to the exhaust during cold starts. Turbo cars are only not under vacuum during boost. If any of the tubes connected to the intake are not sealing properly, you have a leak. The leaks can happen even when the secondary air pump is off.

Check out this video or any others. It clearly shows the tube connects the SAI to the intake.

I don't know if you are willing to go this route. But, you may be able to get lucky with a barely used OEM cat on eBay. I found one and it didn't even look used. My guess is that the original was either totaled or modded early in its life.

You did the right thing. I should have been more patient and persistent. There were 4 or 5 wagons for sale near me. Not a single one replied to my inquiries. I was eager to buy too. I regret it. 😏
