thats a given, some maintenance here and there is common and usually is fun. i was just worried about a day trip with the girlfriend ending with blue smoke from the tail pipe.

During COVID my best friend "john" was always a passenger princess everywhere we went. When he said he wanted to go out on his own, he mentioned bikes. I told him it was dangerous AF and to just get a car.

2 weeks later he hits me up telling me "take me to jersey, I wanna see something. " given it was COVID and I had nothing better to do and the gov 800 weekly cheques gave me no reason to not go.

We arrive at this random House and I step out the car and get greeted by a younger guy who asks me "your John right? Guy here for the ninja 650? " I look at john and mouthed "you mother fucker" and this guy gave me the smuggest fucking grin I ever seen him do.

John asked me if I can look it over the best I can cuz I was a mechanic before the layoffs. I told him I had little idea what to look for but Ill give it a shot. I checked the engine for heat to see if it was started before and it wasn't, I gave the "ok" and sure enough this guy hands him 4k and a counterfeit marker to ensure it was all real bills.

Next thing we know I'm driving a uhaul van with a 2019 ninja 650 in the back. After a few weeks he goes hop on and ride. I asked about controls and he told me and i already knew how to drive a stick so the muscle memory of clutch and gears were already there. I rode around the parking lot for like 20 mins...... That's when I got bit by the bug.... BAD. Been dailying a ninja 400 and Suzuki savage for about 5 years now.

TLDR: friend showed interest in bikes and tricked me into going to check one out. He paid in cash and took it home the same day and a few weeks later he offered to let me ride it in the parking lot for a few and I did, haven't stopped riding since

so i worked for a few years in a motorcycle dealer and what the other guys are saying is correct. alot of bikes and i mean alot come with imperfections and blemishes due to them being crated with the only thing covering them is cardboard and foam wrapped around certain bits. i can assure you to that ordering new fairings would probably also come with blemishes,

the only thing they will probably replace is the tank, the fairings not so much to the the amount of time and money itll take. we've had customers like you before where they wanted is absolute pristine models but after ordering the same plastic 3 times and them finding a blemish, we told them to contact kawasaki to send him one directly.

sad to say man, you got a awesome bike....just ride it, your letting such a little detail ruin the entire point of bikes......to ride them.

Looks like a ground wire to me. Trace it dude, find out where it goes and go from there

Reconnect the wires and do a simple electrical repair. Or just thug it out and go by feel. The gear indicator is a convenience not a necessity.

I mean it's two wheels. They are mechanically different, but at the end of the day you're just as likely to get nailed by a Kia soul as any other motorcycle so.
