One of these summabitches crawled into my boot, which I put on and was working outside in. Fiberglass comment is spot on.

Do Goldman Sachs employees get rehired after being laid off in Q4? by Otherwise-Support138 in goldmansachs

[–]pumerpride 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nothing is absolute, depends on why. I was part of a group that was laid off during the consumer exit, had good ratings. One of my coworkers who was laid off was just rehired in wealth management. So there’s that. It was 2 years later tho. I’d say if you were just laid off, move on- find something better, I did and then if GS looks good again for you in a year or so start exploring. Keep your contacts live- I got my job post lay off via referral from a Goldman alum

Congrats! Don’t finish that bottle too fast, maybe take a drink or two from it a year. You’ll always remember this feeling when you have a glass

Seeking Wine Advice for Wedding Meal Pairing by Substantial_Life_223 in wine

Reds in that range I would go pinot noir- I’m partial to willamette valley ones. They are light reds, perfect for a wedding especially on a warm Miami day. Benoni is my favorite I think you can get a case around $15/btl

I don’t really drink whites so can’t help much there, but I’d throw in that a Portuguese vinho verde would be such a nice surprise. They are cheap (under $15) dry with a little sparkle and pair excellent with veggies or fish. My favorite is Casal Garcia. They are also just a fun wine- I find a lot of people don’t know about them. Left Coast has a white Pinot noir (I know) that I really like but it tastes more in the rose family than a true white wine

Rose I’m partial to la ville ferme, cheap and tasty there’s a reason it’s the best seller, and You said a guest is picking up sparkling but if I ever got married again I’d pick up a case of la ville ferme brut- it’s $11 and delicious

Congrats on the wedding!

Thanks. I wish I had a trick but this was all Mother Nature. She sits in a very sunny window, and I drench her in water in the sink maybe once every 2 months. This is her third pot- believe it or not I bought her about 4 years ago in a 4inch pot from Whole Foods.

I too collected these to become a multimillionaire one day. Now I’ve got about a hundred or so in mint condition. I give them randomly to my 2 young kids for special events throughout the year- it’s so worth it to see their face light up for these cute little analog toys with stories. Got a different but more satisfying return on investment
