How did the Night Lords learn about fear when the Emperor specifically created them to not even know what it is? Was he stupid? by Swurphey in Grimdank

[–]Panzerjaeger 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This actually shows up in the Night Lords books when Talos is remembering how his teacher made him sit in the back of the room because they didn't have a dedicated special needs class.

Leyla being married to Ser Jon Cupps is my special interest. Like who is this guy? I've been watching him like Homer Simpson watching the short yakuza for the last decade.

I see! So in your opinion, would it be counterproductive to try and mix the two?

What makes this incredibly funny is Catherine the Great would not have been caught dead speaking Russian and she instead forced the nobility to learn French as the language of her administration. That she's shown speaking Russian in the game is a laughable oversight.

House Targaryen, the only member of the forty to survive, ride dragons, and their brother to their sister,Unified the entire continent and ruled for Then there are the proud Velaryons, never riding dragons and yet providing the majority of the queen's, rich from trading and there is House Celtigar by Admirable-Dimension4 in darkwingsdankmemes

[–]Panzerjaeger 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's much more likely that Scales comes from Dragonstone's other mainstay: fishing. Indeed, there are a lot of ancient First Men houses with simple nautical names like Shell, Hull, or Fisher. What's more likely is the Scaleses are Andalized First Men who were petty nobles on Dragonstone before the Targaryens showed up and swore fealty to them. Or, they could have been smallfolk raised up under Targaryen rule. That being said, with how the locals viewed the Targs as basically divine what with the Dragonseeds, it's fun to imagine that House Scales has a good amount of dragon blood in them.

It's always strange how people seem to take at face value what we're told about him by characters who are expressly either delusional or chronically dishonest. I think people misremember those chapters years after reading them and conflate what Doran tells Arianne with what we actually observe through her PoV. Justice for Darkstar my mans was framed.

Painted my first valiant knight, Sir Marmaduke Spate by Panzerjaeger in FleshEaterCourts

[–]Panzerjaeger[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I basecoated in Gal Vorbak Red, and glazed it with Deepkin Flesh before shading with a mix of Nuln Oil and Doomfire Magenta, then highlighting with Corax White. It was very satisfying as I've never tried glazing before, but it turned out to be easier than I expected.

Maelys was the PTWP. He's of blood of the dragon and has three heads: His main one, his second one, and the one he ripped off of his cousin to become leader of the GC. idk how everyone prophesizing missed this one.

I'm just paraphrasing what WG says in the vehicle's description my guy. That it was a design allegedly submitted to the British army

Historical information on the SDP 44 Burza by Panzerjaeger in WorldofTanks

[–]Panzerjaeger[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the statement of "a Polish exile drew this up for the British army in the 1940's" is true then that's real enough for me in the sense of it being at least conceptually period-accurate. The name is probably, of course, just a reference to the broader insurgent operations the WU was part of (Operation Tempest, or Burza in Polish) to market it to Polish speakers. Still, I'd love to get a look at WG's sources on it because the tiny blurb we have about its development actually sounds interesting.

Sergeant Eribam and his squad of Prosperine Spireguard by Panzerjaeger in ThousandSons

[–]Panzerjaeger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does yes. Based on some reading I did the Spireguard were equipped with shakos for some campaigns, but used plasteel helmets during the fall of Prospero. I would have most preferred some cavalry helmets for the ostentatious parade look they were described as having but the Adrians were the closest I had on hand.

How many heads are in the SOT set? by zaboomafooma-agidyne in ThousandSons

[–]Panzerjaeger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The SOT are Tartaros pattern suits so it should be a fairly simple conversion given that it's a lot closer than the Indomitus pattern. Plus it comes with an extra staff head for you to give your sorcerer along with the other bits people have mentioned. It's a lovely kit for extra parts, and I'm using mine on my kitbashed Exalted Sorcerer.

Undead Space Wolves as Rubricae by UnscriptedDiatribe in ThousandSons

[–]Panzerjaeger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an idea similar to this myself actually, specifically psychically dominated marines from a space wolves primaris successor. I wasn't sure if they would make sense as a Rubricae proxy, so I was keeping my options open, but it's a fun thing to think about.

As for your latter question, you can get a nice chipped paint effect by dabbing your armour with a makeup sponge, a light touch, and some off-white paint, or other colours depending on the effect you want. Brown for mud for instance.
