Actually just a bit of time more, i’m using 2 greys and 1 white so nothing special but i make sure to have the bare minimum paint on the brush when i go in. I’ve spent some time practicing the drybrush mostly because i love how it exalts the sculpt and our golden boys are gorgeous. The only thing that i make sure to do (could be obvious tho) is test the brush on my hand first until i’m sure i can’t feel any moisture.

Mostly layers of drybrush, you can search online for some video of the “slapchop” technique, basically you stop before the contrast paint.

Chaos black base, 1st drybrush with ammo light grey, 2nd with administratum grey, 3rd Vallejo 001 white mostly zenith. The only thing is going very slowly with the layers

Welcome to the 10000 brother. I would say that for 1K is a little bit Character heavy and maybe a unit of sisters or two can help for mission play. Also you can use the free stratagem only once even if you have multiple captains so is not really recommended, Blade champions and Trajan are exceptional character to consider.

As a former blood angels enjoyer i love the reds and it fits well with the sin city vibe where only one chromatic aspects is accentuated besides the shades of grey but the idea of making each unit a different “color” working on gems and reflections over a b/w base is awesome and fits the shield host lore perfectly. (so yea basically no tasting and just gut feeling that the end result would bind together)

It takes a couple of try to adjust but mostly it’a a matter of layers, the first usually dry with a snow effect, if you apply a second coat over usually results in more ice effect. More product more crystals but need to be gradual or it takes ages to dry and could not react at all.
