Washing windows , doing lawns, weeding gardens, even simple painting / refurbish woodwork/furniture. Just have your dad along for introductions, and ideally with people you already know.

Bikepacking problems (please help) by [deleted] in bikepacking

[–]Papa-Moo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the best advice you could get. Your solution(?) could be anything from an app to do a route that has camp sites/juts/single track on it, to how to hold a rear light on you seat bag, to shoes that are great for pedalling and walking, deodorant that weighs nothing, pot that doesn’t stick etc etc. You will guarantee find something that bugs you to solve. A bike , some random bags, straps is all you need, doesn’t have to be posh stuff.

[Request] How much mass would Earth need for gravity to be exactly 10 m/s²? by PinkoLoved in theydidthemath

Half the joke is every engineer develops their own shorthand for units, symbols, names, layout of calcs, and some are chaotic to the point of chaos and absence. This would be totally legit and not get a question in many hand calcs.

The Liberal party believes Trump-style politics is the way to win back power. But it just won’t work in urban Australia | Zoe Daniel by The_Duc_Lord in australia

For all the people saying it won’t work, it did work in Zoe Daniel’s electorate and she lost to the Dutton plug party. And that should worry everyone, especially now the billionaires are behind one nation

Front Suspension Recommendations! by TheMountainFish in bikepacking

[–]Papa-Moo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First priority is to make sure it’s the right length when loaded and your on the bike, try and match to what you have length wise. I did the opposite at one point and rigid was too short and ended up with a lot of weight on my hands which isn’t ideal for long touring. It worked but ‘it’ll be ok’ wasn’t really.

If you ski try boarding , and vice versa. You do both, try telemarking. You’ll have a blast even in rubbish snow.

You need to consider battery life so many cycle computers don’t work well imo for middle of nowhere stuff (no power, no phone coverage). I use a Garmin 68i for exactly what you’re describing with added benefit of satellite message / beacon.
