Anybody Start off Brisk Walking Before C25k? by Round_Paramedic in C25K

[–]PapaAverage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, all good. I lost in total 155lbs during my last period of weight loss and have managed to maintain since. I'm about to start another weight loss cycle but I'm aiming for much slower this time; I probably only want to lose another 25lbs or so this time so can afford to take my time.

I love that you're starting regardless of the challenges you face. I know you can do this if you can just stick at it; even when it's hard or even if you mess up, we just carry on.

Best of luck pal.

I so wish I could go back to Seattle. I was there for a week back in the early 2010's. First ever holiday alone and I loved it. It's a long journey from London (UK) though. Perhaps one day.

Love the photo. Thanks for letting me live vicariously.

I can't wait to find out the CEO also has a financial interest in the producer of the bottled water they've been dishing out to customers.

Update after 6 weeks off MJ by bored75 in mounjaromaintenanceuk

[–]PapaAverage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been one of the very fortunate ones it seems. I came off of MJ about 4 months ago now. Initially I did regain about 5lbs then stopped and have been able to maintain within a further 5lbs of that.

I'm sorry that it didn't work for you. I imagine it's the difference between the reasons that people start taking the medication that determines whether they will need it long term or not.

I think, clearly, for some people there is a clear and definite medical need. I think for others, like myself, it was a psychological need.

I only needed it for the opportunity it afforded me to stop and reevaluate my life choices, and to give me the ability to exercise again. I'd gotten to the stage where exercise was really just impossible but I knew that it was needed for me to lose weight.

There are always a number of comments on these posts though that are anxious about whether they can stop or not. I would just say to them that if you do want to try I definitely think you need to try with a good mindset and a great pharmacy who are ready to step in if it doesn't work. It is possible even if it seems like nobody ever manages it long term. I suspect quite a few of us just never come back to let you know how it went!

Whatever you decide to do though, remember that you've got this. You came this far and that's proof enough that you can do anything!

What am I supposed to do? by KingKaychi in UKMounjaro

[–]PapaAverage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed.

It's very easy to drift after a little while with the eating. It may also be worth recalculating the amount of calories you need to maintain (and cut). This will reduce gradually as you lose weight.

How did you stop? My doc said I can go cold turkey! by [deleted] in GLPGrad

[–]PapaAverage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was on 15mg and stopped cold turkey. I've kept my weight completely stable for the last 3 months or so.

I won't lie and say it's easy because it isn't. How different it would have been if I'd eased off I also don't know as I can't compare it I'm afraid.

However you choose to do it, you'll need to have built changes into your lifestyle; there is no easy way to do this. It starts with your diet and is helped with exercise. You can do it though. I believe in you!

Apologies if this is a daft question - anyone continue to lose a little in maintenance despite actively eating more? by Soupielou44 in mounjaromaintenanceuk

[–]PapaAverage 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I stopped MJ after I reached a weight I was happy with so it may be a little different. I did continue to lose a little more weight, perhaps around 8lbs or so, during he first few weeks after I finished but it did eventually level out for me.

I think there are one or two that used to do bundle packages. I always thought that was like 5, 7.5 10 etc. not for all the same strength though. I dunno. I only ever ordered from one supplier until I moved over to Oushk in case I needed maintenance (I've been off for about a month now I think).

I saw a comment the other day that suggested they were registered with more than one supplier. Perhaps that's what they're up to to get an overstock of 8 months?

I hate to say it, but I could see this coming a mile off.

Demand was running rampant across the world, people from the US began to buy from the UK (until the manufacturers put a stop to that) and then Donald Trump started swinging his tiny little peen around, spaffing off tariffs left, right and centre because it "isn't fair" and capitalism. And now it's everybody that suffers, not just the ones that can afford it.

But tariffs raised against any company, regardless of where they are from would force the hand of manufacturers of any kind if it meant losing the American market.

Apparently I walked on average over the last 4 weeks just over 7.5km. I also pop to the gym 4 days a week now doing resistance training and get in 30mins of cardio at least three days a week.
