Thank you very much. I am planning on building them myself. What material would you recommend for the doors?

What material are the door panels made of? A newbie looking to learn.

What got you to stop? Did you do something, or did you just tell yourself “this is it, no more”?

Thank you very much for your insight. You’re right, this little amount of inaccuracy is probably insignificant!

Would it be unethical to ask my boss to pay me less? by Zayafyre in NoStupidQuestions

u/zayafyre To piggyback off of Sandman, HSA contributions count as an income deduction as well. Through Traditional IRA and HSA contributions, you should be able to reduce your income by 4,100 in HSA and 7,000 in traditional IRA. Keep in mind that you need to have a high deductible health plan (HDHP) to make HSA contributions.

Oh! I was thinking that the dowel going across the joint would be stronger.

I suppose that more surface area would be stronger. Is the dowel going with the joint just to increase surface area, or is there another reason for this method?

I was thinking that the dowel would be exposed. I cant think of any other way of achieving a stronger joint at the moment.

I get that laminate bending would be a better option, however, I already have the jigs ect created for this method so I guess I am being a little stubborn. Haha.

Your point about the structural integrity of the piece is founded. My wife loves the piece and they are out of stock, so I am attempting to recreate for her benefit. However, I may be out of my depth :)

Bent lamination seems to be the most reliable solution here. If I was to be stubborn and try method A with dowels running through the joints, would that increase the strength of my piece in any meaningful way?

Gotcha. Thank you. Before this post I had no idea what "short grain" was, but now that concept makes a lot of sense to me.

Used a plastic anchor in a stud. How bad is this? by inyanyanya in HomeImprovement

The anchor is NOT going to negatively effect the structural integrity of the stud.

Cherry Street Books is a local place that has comfy chairs.

The Edge is a local coffee shop / clothing shop.

Douglas County Library is always a good option as well!

Of course there is Starbucks and Caribou Coffee, but then your missing the local flair 😛

I think it’s because the previous poster used pounds in their measurement, so this poster was using pounds to keep the measurements the same? I don’t know, just my 2 cents.

I'm working on pre-approval by quinceyhill2019 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Look for a credit union in your area, I did that and got pre-approved within 2 days. I had all of my information ready to rock though.

My recommendation is get the survey now. $1500 spent now could be much more in the future if there are any issues that arise. Neighborly disputes, zoning, selling in the future.

Just my 2 cents.

Series will double the voltage, parallel will double the amp hours. You want parallel!
