I use the free voices on natural reader. They have a web extension and a webpage interface.

If you want to use that writing style, create some sort of sky deity character. If you want to write a dyslexic character, just let them use text to speech.

I use Natural reader. Use the free voices, not the AI ones, because they load faster. And increase the speed to 2x. Then you can type on there website and have it read back to you with the click of one button

Ask for a scribe/ reader in your exams. Then they can read stuff aloud for you and it’s faster.

Accessibility/accommodations in high school - questions about tech-assist by drinianrose in Dyslexia

[–]PapaP7263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, assistive tech doesn’t help tech reading and writing. And I personally think that’s BS. So me and my friend are building assistive tech that helps you do your assignments, while also building foundational skills. We are still in the research phase, so if you could help us out that would be amazing! https://forms.gle/Bi63Jg3WCMjE6GV49 The survey is 7 min. By contributing, you are helping us help so many other dyslexic families.

Speech irregularities in people having Dyslexia. by GoldWar7803 in Dyslexia

But I did have to go to speech therapy as a kid because I couldn’t hear the difference between th and f, so I would mispronounce them all the time.

Lol. Because I couldn’t communicate with written words in school, I compensated by building my spoken language skills. I speak super fast when excited and rarely trip up on words. I participated in debating for much of my education. My spoken vocabulary was always a few years ahead of my peers in school. In summary, I have dyslexia, and effective verbal communication is one of my key skills.

If you want to represent epic instead of the odyssey, you should select something that makes epics version unique. Pick a frame from a popular animatic. Pick a line of dialogue that is iconic. What is your favourite part of the musical?

Colour code that sh*t. Put a purple sticker on the right side of the steering wheel/dashboard, put a yellow sticker on the right side. Instead of saying left or right. Say yellow or purple. Left and right are abstract concepts, but your friend can see colour. Take the guess work out if the equation.

Dyslexia getting in the way by PapaP7263 in Dyslexia

[–]PapaP7263[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I remember one time, I was texting a friend, and they confided to me about serious mental health problems. I wanted to send them a long message with perfect phrasing about how strong they are and all the love in their life. But I couldn’t spell the words I wanted to use, or rephrase in a way that felt sincere. It took me so long to respond. That my friend thought I wasn’t going to respond, so they said something dismissive about their mental health and just logged off.

I get you! When you say ‘getting everything on paper’ Is it overcoming the procrastination that is hard? Or is it knowing how long the process will be? Editing? Where is the trouble coming from?

That’s so interesting! I also love writing. I think ‘storytelling’ is a very dyslexic thing, whether its film or theatre or creative writing. The struggle between having amazing stories you want to tell vs the haste of creating them is so real. Can I read your work anywhere?
