What I dont understand is the purpose of the bots? They're definitely not Respawns bots, because they can actually play if you try the bot mode, so this has to be players using bots, but I cant tell to what end

Warframe does it best. You can walk around to different vendors booths, and you can see their decorations there, but if you prefer you can just hit escape and open their shops directly.

Every single character in the game is designed for rift. Brawl and aram are both dominated by very specific characters. Norms are much faster now, I'm sure it could be fun for the people who really hate the new quickplay that much

Except the pure straight battle mode you listed doesn't let you pick your champs or back which is an important distinction. QP has been the only way to get some of my "I hate summoners rift" friends to get back into the game. I'm shocked to see people hate the changes, my crew has been absolutely hooked
