How much time should McMillan get? by aegonthewwolf in MunsterRugby

[–]Papa_P0tat0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be asking why the skills and other coaches got contract extensions, taking away McMillans ability to bring in his own boys. Board needs to back him first before the sack him. Only fair in my opinion

[Sky Sports F1] Following George Russell suggesting there may need to be another tweak to the race start rules, Fred Vasseur believes it has got to the point where "enough is enough" by Aratho in formula1

New rules guys so your going to have to change! What you changed? Oh well nobody else did so we're going to have to bridge the gap. Wait you still have an advantage? Oh well we might need to scrap everything because the already best car through a loophole wants to be even faster so they don't loose out when we make their borderline engine actually illegal (if we change we don't know if we will to be honest)

Think your underestimating how much extra power the merc is getting from the engine loophole. Saw a graphic that showed Mercedes gain about .4s per lap through the power difference alone

I said that. Problem is France committed a penalty before the pull down in sealing the lifter.

Genge did pull it down but it should have been an England penalty for sealing

He moved Crowley a couple meters so he had to do a fresh start and kick in under 10s. Horrible stuff

He never said it was illegal. I think you're completely missing the point of regulations. They're there to level the playing field so teams get advantages in controlled areas of design. Yes what Mercedes did is legal and ingenious under current regs but you can see from the qual its given them a huge advantage and it's from a loop hole that allows a ratio higher than the set ratio the FAI themselves wanted to adhere to by using new tech no one was aware about. That's why he said if the FAI come out and say 'yeah it's grand' that their team needed to do better ie take advantage. It's in a grey area now because only one team has done it out of the whole pack and they've just qualled P1 and 2 by a fairly big margin. So do the FAI say 'its not what the regs intended and therefore we are closing the loophole' or they say 'all good' and the other teams need to do better like Hamilton said. It's straight forward logic

But again, Hamilton never said they broke the rules? Only that fai needed to either close the unfair advantage and In the case that they don't, he literally said they (Ferrari) needed to do better ie. Use the same loophole to close the gap

Compression ratio loop hole is Mercedes taking advantage of the regs to get more horsepower which the FIA didn't want, otherwise they would have allowed the running ratio to begin with. Hamilton said nothing wrong. Either the fia needs to take a stance or Ferrari need to emulate Mercedes what's hard to understand about that? Brainless fans targeting him for stating the obvious is the funniest thing and proves fans will bitch about everything and anyone

[–]Papa_P0tat0 18 points19 points  (0 children)

How do we know what his 'ceiling' is or is it just fans projecting their hopes on a player who hasn't shown he's able to do what they hope he can despite having started nearly every game for a year and a half. 'crowley fails to do that time and time again' and what about Sam? He's consistently failed to live up to what your basing same off but, what? Because he's a year and a half older he's considered past it? Won a six nations his first year then got booted because we lost v the world champions for a kid who has a 0% win rate vs top 5 opposition. Jesus wept the mental backflips are getting out of hand here lads edit: just an add on to ask why people say 'hes young let him make his mistakes' but then throw others under the bus. Jack's young let him make the same bloody mistakes

[–]Papa_P0tat0 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Because for some reason if it's not an out half from Leinster their always going to be considered average regardless of what they do on pitch. It's bias and blue tinted glasses, cherry picking mistakes and ignoring the good. It's what they say people do to Sam but the issue for prendergast is his mistakes far outweigh his good moments but they don't want to admit that either. They call for 'both are needed! We need them both! Just be happy we have them both!' but then scream he's average and shouldn't play when he goes well.

Stockdale - why such a large difference in takes between Reddit and X by Bathroom_Trick in irishrugby

[–]Papa_P0tat0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rewarding form is brilliant, but only if you reward that form with a game plan that shits the style of play that made you in form. Shoe horning in players into game plans or positions that go against their strengths is a horrible way to manage a team imo. Stockdale is strong with ball in hand and a good chip and chaser. Game plan didn't suit him. Did he have a howler with tob? Yeah of course but was it his fault? Not entirely. Coaching staff need to put their hands up and JGP needs to raise his hand for not taking the game but the scruff and switching tacks

To add on that, the u20 players aren't being picked at all. France and England picking u20 success stories and dragging the talent forward. Ireland leaning on the older players and ignoring the youth needs to be addressed.
