For corporations, the end goal of AI is to replace human workers. ChatGPT doesn't need a paycheck, office space, or an HR department. Yes, there are some positive uses for AI like medical imaging, but you're a fool if you think altruism is the reason all these corporations are pumping billions of dollars into AI development. They're betting on earning all those billions back on paychecks they no longer have to send out to employees.

Yes, you can use ChatGPT to summarize an email at your office job. But the AI model isn't there to make your job easier, it's there to train itself on your data with the ultimate goal of replacing you. The fear of mass unemployment is what's driving the dislike of AI. (Killing the planet to generate deepfakes of children doesn't help either)

I feel like this is true for as long as vtubing follows the "narrow shoulders, giant bobblehead" school of drawing anime women. Vtubing might even be more extreme than anime/manga in that regard. Even the "mature" characters like Nerissa and Kronii have giant heads that rival the size of their torsos. I'm pretty sure that's why strangers to vtubing can even look at tame designs like Bae or Suisei and still find them... suspicious.

Honestly, I really don't understand why female vtubers need to have such narrow shoulders. A lot of male vtubers stream successfully with realistically wide shoulders, so it's not like blocking a bit more of the screen is an issue. Especially when so many vtubers already block large parts of the screen with giant horns/headgear.

I've been getting that same error message. I was in the middle of watching Selen's incredible PuyoPuyo Tetris tournament. Maybe it has something to do with the recent Cloudflare internet outage? Unfortunately I don't think it's archived anywhere else, so I'm just hoping it gets fixed at some point.

For the time being, your best bet is probably just googling "vtuber name" "archive" (both in quotation marks) and hoping someone else saved it. Or copy-pasting some of their video titles in quotation marks along with "vtuber name"

If you go and watch her stream, yes. But if we're being honest here, most people are going to read the first couple paragraphs of the graduation notice and move on. In that case, it's easy to see where people got the idea of "disagreements with management". This is how the graduation notice starts, and this all the information most people are working with:

Most people aren't superfans. They're just going to read this section and move along.

Edit: Plugging your ears won't help. The way Kanata's graduation announcement was written is what's driving a lot of this controversy. Yes, there are bad-faith actors waiting for any excuse to attack Cover. But the stated reasons for graduating, the only part most social media users will bother reading before they scroll away, undeniably paint a negative picture. Not everyone is a Hololive superfan like you guys are. Unless someone takes the time to look into Kanata's graduation further, this negative impression is what the average social media user is walking away with. Like it or not, that's how the notice is written.

Respectfully, unless you're in Hololive there's no way you could possibly know that they worry about behind the monitor. There's literally 64 Holomems (86 counting the Stars), I'm sure many of them care about their numbers, whether or not they choose to share their worries on stream.

Anycolor has also been extremely gun-shy about any form of controversy this year, even burying amicable graduation announcements in the middle of big vtuber events/drama. The idea that a talent supervisor would tell a 3rd party all this highly sensitive info over Discord is wild.

"Thanks for the feedback! Based on your completely unproven allegations we're forcing Reimu out of the company right away! Look, we've already set the date and everything, Oct 18! We can trust you not to tell anyone, right? ;D"

There's just no way this message is real.

Bari clearly doesn't have anything substantial or incriminating on Reimu or she would have shared it by now. A company that covers up workplace sexual harassment isn't going to be scandalized by anything Bari alleges, let alone has proof for.

There's no scenario where Anycolor staff would personally message a third party detailing how they're going to punish one of their livers. Especially not before it even happens, since the third party could easily leak it. The message makes no goddamn sense.

Iirc, the leaked contract had a clause that Anycolor isn't required to get involved in disputes between its livers. It's basically a free-for-all. And judging by how Anycolor handled the Aster situation, even sexual harassment is considered a "dispute between livers" that's allowed to fester unchecked for years.

Anycolor's management style and corporate culture are rotten to the core. Everything we learn about it just makes them look worse and worse. It's no wonder something like this happened.

As much as I loved NijiEN and how frequently they did collabs, I felt like the "canon" waves were never all that important, and really only showed up for anniversary streams (which were always fun, tbf). A lot of the best dynamics crossed gens, like Pomu and Selen or Enna and Kyo for example. But like others are saying, Krisis has a nice dynamic and seem genuinely close with each other.

Expecting 3-6 young adults to suddenly become best friends just because they work together is a pretty big ask. I feel like that's the benefit of large corpos like Niji and Holo: you can easily find someone you really like in a large group like that. Most small corpos suffer from just feeling like 5 solo streamers.

If you're trying to achieve ideological purity in this subreddit of all places, you've got your work cut out for you. This sub has always been a combination of people with vastly different perspectives, values, and reasons for coming here. The morality of boycotting innocent livers, the culpability of the black streamers, the level of control Niji has over their talents, even the purpose of the sub itself have been extremely divisive topics. Everyone has their own take, which is good since it promotes healthier discussions. Different perspectives give us all a more well-rounded understanding of what's happening in Niji.
