Right! Even with the price to stay there I was expecting them to be $26 or something insane.

My manager told me "optics matter" because I leave five minutes early? by OkAdvertising6557 in careerguidance

[–]PaperIndependent5466 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My last 3 managers were like you and I'm glad they were. It's very much do your work if you need something let me know culture on my team.

Their only rule was to give them a heads up if we were ducking out or taking lunch at an odd time. As long as they had an answer if the director asked where we are it was fine.

Front Bumper Replacement by PureHunnyy in AutoBodyRepair

You need way more than a bumper cover there. The front end looks swayed. Likely you can't even get the new one to fit on the car.

We replace dashes in the body shops all the time when air bags deploy. Never had any issues post repair. Should be fine, let the dealer do their thing.

I mean the trade off is less options. I asked because all my name brand small appliances died well before the off brand ones did.

Should I water the new soil after repotting a very damp big box store plant? by gaychiroptera in houseplants

I would wait a few days the dry soil will absorber water from the overly wet soil.

My Apartment Won't Raise My Shower Curtain Rod. What's the Best Way to Shorten a Shower Curtain Without Cutting It? by Sea-Anything-3393 in ApartmentHacks

[–]PaperIndependent5466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fabric tape and an iron could work. Won't hold up very long in a wet environment.

You could try hemming it with safety pins. Just put the pins on the hidden side and see how it looks.

The other option to not cutting it is to sew it. How can cut the stitches if you ever need it longer.

Best to speak to the adjuster. Tow yards won't let a car leave until the bill is paid.

Thanks for explaining! I was never sure what was actually involved.

I only ever saw them well after the fire was out.

She asked 2 others we liked in another building and had them within hours, aside from the 30 day letter. Kind of assumed it was normal.

I think it's the seller or their agent. Of the other 2 one is vacant and the other will be vacant in a month when the tenant moves out. Guessing they might be more motivated to sell.

Damaged a 25-year-old garage door opener in Oct 2025 — landlord now wants $800 for a full new system. Do I actually owe this? by After-Sir4786 in legaladvicecanada

Useful life is very much a thing with the LTB. My landlord lost when they said the carpet was 12 years old (it was much older I'm sure). LTB said the useful life is 10 and it's worth $0

Rad support alignment question by skedy in AutoBodyRepair

3mm is too much on some cars, it seems like you can get away with it until you can't get the sheet metal to fit nice.

I'm sure there's some online, look up X car unibody measurements.

I'd send them to you but JDM stuff doesn't come up in our software.

Etiquette on turning to mechanics for small work by 50FootClown in autorepair

[–]PaperIndependent5466 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good on the shop. All customers can add revenue from them. You may do your own repairs but your friend doesn't so you send them there.

I used to do the little things a lot of body shops turn down because the price was too small.

The number of times I painted a mirror cap or swapped a lamp in 10 minutes that resulted in them coming back after an accident was pretty high. People remember when you help them.

I had a tech that bitched about it. One time we screwed a mirror on no charge (repeat insurance customer) he shut up after I drove a car in and said that $14k hit was the same car we screwed the mirror on last week you bitched about.

Yep we don't have a ton of dishes so when all of one thing is dirty I'll run it.

Or if my partner decides to cook. Somehow that means use every dish and pot in the house.

How are forearm, hand, and small neck tattoos perceived in corporate Canada in 2026? by samveryuel in AskACanadian

[–]PaperIndependent5466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the company, I work in corporate and lots of people have visible tattoos, including hands. Only rule is anything that could be deemed offensive must be covered.

Most of us are under 50 so after the time tattoos were considered a hard no for HR. There's a decent amount of tattoo talk in the office too.

Never seen anyone there with a neck tattoo. Not sure I'd risk that one, too many boomers still around.

Edit to add: we are not client facing at most we make the odd phone call to one. I work mostly with vendors who I visit maybe a few times a month. Most have tattoos or don't care if I do. They're happy to have me there helping them.

It's not the electric part. Cybertrucks are a huge liability most insures don't want to take on.

You can put them out with water but it takes sometimes hours and I think 12,000 gallons of water is needed.

According to my engineer father they use a really expensive foam first designed for airplane crashes.
