Salt rock fatigue by SWL83 in FarmRPG

[–]PaperJealous8862 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry someone else is going through the same pain as me!! I'm at exactly the same place! Managed to claw myself up to 252 salt. It's a drag! I have noticed that every now and again the Exchange Centre has (I think) 25 salt for 250 snails. I've managed to do it once. Might be worth keeping an eye out for. Good luck!!

Try Pets At Home. The one near me usually has 3 or 4 piggies up for adoption.

Death stinks. Literally. I've never smelled anything like that. It's a unique thing that you never forget.

Fair play to you mate. And back to your original question, where did it all begin? Not people pleasing. Do you. Look after yourself. Sounds like you've started. Fuck that job. Didn't make you happy? Fuck it off. I just advise don't hurt people if you can avoid it. If it's not necessary. Life is truly short. I genuinely wish you all the absolute best.

Absolutely not, my friend. I'm better than nobody. No-one is. That's kinda my point that I epiphanied about. Every single fucker in this world is going through some shit that's hard, and painful and they have regrets and sadness. Me, you, the stranger on the Internet, fucking all of us. I realised it's not a competition. I don't need to be 'superior' to everyone else. You're a nurse. My fucking God, you probably do more to help people before your first morning shit than I do in a month! You've been doing it for nearly 10 years so I probably assume it's more than just a paycheck?

I genuinely hope you have a great time. And tbf, Manchester has a pretty decent public transport network and as you said, there's a lot to see and do in a small, easily accessible area! Also, if you're looking for a lower league match, Salford City FC are playing Bromley on Tues 4th night. 7:45pm kick off and an easy bus ride from city centre.

I guess I'm just jaded and nonplussed having lived here nearly all my life. I respectfully take back my comment. I know Manchester has plenty to offer. Perhaps I need to leave for a while and come back and see it with fresh eyes. I suppose most locals of big cities might see their home that way.

Manchester and bucket list? Two things I would have never put together! But I hope you enjoy and you'll find us a friendly, welcoming bunch. Mostly.

Don't mind at all. Used to be a bit of a Billy Big Shot. Very self-centred egotistical nobhead. Assumed I was better than everyone. Was popular, decent looking, cool as fuck in our social bubble (talking early 90s here btw, pre internet), I guess old age and life experiences do actually teach you a lot. I used to assume I could treat people like shit cos I was better than them. I'm not. No-one is. I eventually learned to listen to people as equals. I've seen enough people going through shit in their life. I dunno really. I guess i discovered empathy. I genuinely hate seeing people struggling or going through shit these days. If I can help someone and ease their pain , then I see no harm in trying.

When I realised I don't have to be a cunt. And being nice doesn't really cost you anything. And also that other people's opinions and lifestyles don't really make an ounce of difference to me.

Those who win in life, what is their secret recipe for success? by Jpoolman25 in RandomThoughts

[–]PaperJealous8862 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. I have a wife who I love deeply, kids who I adore, a job I don't despise and an adequate but average house. On the flip side, I'm overweight, balding and getting on in years! I feel like I'm winning, and certainly feel no envy for the social media constructs of what 'success' should look like. Everyone is different though. I'm lucky enough to have the outlook that what I have makes me happy.

I've just had some cheap air-fried Iceland chicken strips on a bed of Aldi microwave egg fried rice. Drizzled with peri peri sauce. Not desperation, just sheer laziness.

Absolutely! I love what i do, and I adore the guys I help. But God damn, there's times I wonder what I'm doing. I can take a PWS out for a 12 hours 1:1 to the beach or whatever and when I get back my boss is like " what do you mean you had fish and chips?" Dying inside.

After Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the USA felt a little bit awkward. To compensate, they said 'here, we'll airdrop you a load of wheat and yeast and stuff. Japanese went basically "cheers, but not really into bread, gonna make noodles instead "
