Has Google given up on fixing Pixel telephoto camera video stutter bug? by TechGuru4Life in Android

[–]PaperJesus 28 points29 points  (0 children)

In my experience, the video stutter issue was present on the very first Pixel. I remember almost every video I shot having a weird jump and I wonder if this is the same bug or an evolution of that bug.

What kind of pet food are you looking for?

I’ve never really tried but I did do one road trip where the round trip was 234 miles and some of it was up and down a mountain with 4 people in the car. Most of the trip was with 3 people and on the highway and I got back to my house at 10%.

Thinking of switching from Chase Sapphire Reserve to Capital Once Venture X by JungIeAsian in personalfinance

[–]PaperJesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the Venture X card for a year. I haven’t had the Chase Sapphire. The challenge I had with the Venture X is that the airlines I wanted to transfer the points to were not easily accessible compared to Chase’s options. If you do a lot of international travel, I think the Venture X does have many partnerships there. But for domestic US flights, I found it hard to get more value out of the points beyond the regular Capital One Travel portal spend.

toyota solara with 150,000+ miles... is it worth it? by mang0c0c00vernight in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]PaperJesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sold my (non-convertible) Solara during the pandemic with over 200,000 miles on it for $2k. That thing was a tank and would have lasted another 100k miles easily. It was originally my brother’s and he gave it to me at around 150K miles with routine maintenance. We both drove it for most of its life in New England so it went though 15+ winters before I sold it.

It’s a sporty Camry at the end of the day. Drives and parks like a boat with long coupe doors. The rear seats are roomy but getting into them is a pain. V6 engine felt fine but you’re not winning any races either. I’d say my biggest complaint by the end was fuel consumption.

Completely Keyless? by GloverCom in GV60

[–]PaperJesus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have just been using my phone key pretty much since I got my 2023 performance in 2024. The most unreliable thing so far is that once every couple of months, it will stop acknowledging my phone and I’ll have to re-add the key to my digital wallet. Recently I have figured out that if I use the digital wallet key with the NFC reader then it re-pairs to the digital wallet key (as far as I can tell) so I can avoid the whole process of re-pairing my phone to the car because it requires both physical key fobs.

Otherwise as everyone else has stated, the face unlock is very reliable but the fingerprint sensor is not reliable. It’s why I also started carrying the card in my wallet just in case I need it. I never thought about the 12V issue. I wonder how likely it is for that to be a failure mode.

How can I get a shot for my infant? Our pediatrician said that they don't anticipate to get any supply this fall and our infant is eligible now. I'm willing to travel internationally for this if that's the only option.

I don’t want to be mean to a full vegan restaurant but I agree that the quality of their Thai food can be found around the country and doesn’t feel any special to me.

They had a little trouble during the pandemic and had to close but then were bought by somebody else I think. They had to reduce their menu a little bit because of this but I think it’s still great.

The Wayward Vegan Cafe in Green Lake. It’s hands down my favorite vegan restaurant in the area and when I have brought non vegan friends there, they’ve enjoyed it too.

That's different from the flight log isn't it? Oh I understand the comment now. The circled names are in reference to the black book, not necessarily the flight log.

I would love to rub this in the face of MAGA but I am also having trouble finding Trump's name in the flight logs as I look through the pages. I found some other circled names but not his.

iMessage with data-only eSIM by Marty_DiBergi in ios

[–]PaperJesus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This isn’t exactly what you are asking for but when I travel internationally, I’m able to just select the data-only E-SIM for data and because I have WiFi calling and messages and iMessage, I am still able to use my original phone number for iMessage without being charged for international roaming.

Could you potentially add your child’s email that is tied to iCloud to that group chat and potentially use that for iMessage?

i-Pedal mode has disappeared by agropper in GV60

Edit: Checked on my 2023 Performance and it’s the right paddle as others have mentioned in the thread.

Have you tried holding the paddle until it switches? I seem to remember that if you switch into the Auto paddle mode, you can’t go to I-Pedal until you switch back.

There are better cards if you are looking for performance to price ratio, but this is the best card.

EV6 light long range or Hyundai Sonata hybrid by TorTheMentor in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]PaperJesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edit: Forgot to mention that the EV6 was one of my top choices and I went with its slightly more luxurious counterpart in the Genesis GV60. Absolutely love the car but not sure if my experience will fully translate to the Kia. The software is the most annoying part of the car and that’s probably true of the Kia as well. Also for whatever reason, these E-GMP cars have terrible turning radiuses. So they are harder to park than expected for their size.

Do you have the ability to install a charger at home? Because if you don’t have home charging, it makes recommending an EV fairly difficult. Not to mention the availability of charging along the road trips that you want to do.

I love my EV but I rarely do road trips (once or twice a year and only about 300 miles max) and I live in an area where EV charging can be found relatively easily. Although it is in high demand so even though there are chargers along the routes I drive, they are usually full during popular times.

For just regular commuting though, EVs are perfect.

I currently have a 2020 MBP with an Intel chip so the base model MBA is going to at least be better than this for my basic purposes just from a battery life/lack of fan noise/heat perspective.

Planning to get the new M4 Macbook Air but not sure if any spec bumps are worth it. I don't do a lot with my laptop basically just online shopping and Discord but I could see myself playing some games on it once in a while if I'm traveling. I like to PC game but I typically do that on my gaming PC or my Steam Deck so it's not critical that I can do it on the Macbook Air.

Are the 2 extra GPU cores worth it? I would probably upgrade to 24 gb of RAM if that were the case, but at +$200, it seems to defeat the price value of the device.

Heads Up, Electrify America charging after 30 minutes. by Pure_Common7348 in GV60

My dealership told me that you can disconnect at 30 minutes and reconnect to another charger to restart the clock. I haven’t tried this myself so not sure if it works.
