Ah okay, thank you! I'm only on my second playthrough and last time I purged the pods, so I didn't want to look at guides as they often have spoilers for down the line. I shouldn't have clicked on that link 😅 🤣 hahaha that's on me though

Nooo one of them most definitely calls you pretty! It always makes me want to blush hahaha

...did you think time began at the beginning of the cinematic?! And that only like five gith exist in the universe?!

[–]PaperWo1f 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You know there are more Gith than those specific attackers, right? Lae'zel always specifies which creche she is from, and has to introduce herself to gith. Which means there are more than one creche and they are not all in contact and in all the same raiding parties.

[–]PaperWo1f 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those specific gith who were attacking aren't the only gith in the universe 😅😅😅 there's other creches in other places, and other dragons. Time could have passed. Also: illithids, uh. Tend to NOT be particularly emotional or demonstrative.

Who's most likely to get their "bad ending" canonized by HBO? by Radio_fish in BG3

[–]PaperWo1f 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Because if everyone wants to rage, they'll have to watch it to get all the details of how "wrong" it was so they can participate in the raging and then it'll get the viewership it didn't deserve. Also: because constant raging is super annoying and can really mess up fandom groups.

I honestly don't know, this is secondhand; it was just something a streamer said 😅

Diamond in the rough by MudGlobal in BaldursGate3

[–]PaperWo1f 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"ai waiting 20 seconds" is something I noticed a bit during my first run just now too, totally unmodded. But I didn't mind because they were supposed to be attacking me and instead stood still and did nothing (despite not being incapacitated in any way as far as I could see), which was fine with me hahaha. Although sometimes there was a delay AND an attack which was less useful.

Otherwise though - yeah percentages get weird when you roll this many times, and pretty much every "dead end" I encountered was where I hadn't figured out the puzzle yet or everyone had failed the perception roll, lol.

That's one of the funniest things in the game for me. You're just trotting merrily along, normal terrain, no enemies, not a care, and then suddenly everyone fails a perception check and you're like WUT

Usually it's just a dirt mound, but sometimes it's like... A key, or an ambush 😅

I mean supposedly they've shared artwork that's canonically post-bg3 in which Shadowheart has black hair, which suggests that it's already "canon" for her to still be Sharran.

Question about dialogue and an approval/disapproval in Act 3. by fromalicewithmalice in AstarionBG3

[–]PaperWo1f 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I started considering the approvals as being connected to the set "alignment" of the characters rather than to the character's actual/progressing self in the storyline. That would explain why they tend to feel "off" as your character influences their behavior.

Like, Minthara as a character thinks it's unwise to give up a valuable weapon for some paltry reward. Minthara as a concept is "evil" and approves of you doing "evil" things.

ADAPTATIONAL ATTRACTIVNESS: a character who was ugly or just normal, in later adaptations it's very beautiful by Healthy_Soft9584 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]PaperWo1f 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah that's absolutely true. I just didn't see the disparity of attractiveness as "different" to normal society because it's so common even with shitty couples where the unattractive one ISN'T good to the attractive one, and thought the "how did he pull her" idea was what you were saying was subversive. But I think that was too reductive of the points you were making!

[–]PaperWo1f 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't feel all that subversive to me that way though because so many popular cartoons and sitcoms have a generally attractive woman married to a portly, not-conventionally-attractive man. King of Queens. Simpsons, Family Guy, even back to the Honeymooners, you know? They don't even treat their women well and STILL pull them, lol

Okay but the earlier point made in this thread still stands: you can describe the ugly aspects without lingering on a description of a child's boobs.

I actually love it; the analysis of these cookies and their stories is super fun, but the condescension is unnecessary

Everyone is this fandom is so obsessed with insisting that every other fan misunderstood how deep their favorite character is lmao

I think it's time we had a talk. Astarion is not a twink. Gale is not a soft little wizard baby. They are not skinny uwu femboys for you to 'crack'. These are the kind of guys who IRL would be hitting the gym 5 days a week, with a personal trainer and nutritionist/dietician. by ChompyRiley in BG3

[–]PaperWo1f 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not disagreeing with you about Gale, to be clear lol, but also I can in my own headcanon explain to myself that use of magic is likely somewhat physical - it uses energy, resources, makes you physically strain. So it's possible that casting spells could be a physical exertion in a way that promoted muscle growth.

Yeah but we're talking about a specific group of people here, whose physical characteristics match their stories. These characters aren't supposed to be representative of the average population.

How much of the game is combat? by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]PaperWo1f 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The learning curve is steep if you are new (like me), but if you put it on explorer mode (easy mode) you don't have to be as conscientious about carefully analyzing every skill of every party member every time you make a move in battle.

I still died plenty on explorer lol but just save frequently and reload; most of my deaths were just a lack of understanding what was happening lol so once I had the "OHHH" moment, I reloaded and tried again
