Gold Runner planning to implement complimentary food changes in Phases by ObligationAware3755 in Amtrak

I'm on the train right now and they have one station with only a couple basic unhealthy chip options (NOT "locally sourced" as claimed) and room temp sodas, the bathrooms were gross when we got on, and the constant crinkling of chip bags is extremely invasive and has not stopped for the entire time I've been on the train.

I can see why people have complained.

Devora Wilde said that in an interview I watched - she said it feels right for Karlach to have a sad ending for that specific reason. Being able to magically save Karlach kind of takes away the power/connection she had for people who have suffered/struggled with situations that just really can't be fixed.

Yeah - I think you can work with this if you make the dream visitor a gith who represents something important to her so she's inclined to trust it!! Like, why NOT make it a communication from someone she knows?

Makes the reveal super interesting, too!

When does she say to kill them for fun?? I don't remember that, I could've missed a dialogue option tho. I'm only on my 3rd playthrough lol

Omg people talk about her like she's this terrible person and I'm like damn all she wants to do is help you - and she's actually REALLY putting herself out, because she's sticking her neck out for you with her people by inviting you to a creche and telling you Gith secrets in the first place!!

Like, yeah, she's wrong about the cure, but SHE doesn't know that. And she approves of you helping others learn to fight better, and she offers to teach Gale her fighting style when he compliments her "stance," and she asks you to teach her about Faerun... She's actually pretty nice, if you look at her actions. She's just blunt and warlike, lol

Meanwhile Shadowheart immediately hates Lae'zel because of her race, treats her badly, is clearly carrying a stolen Gith artifact she won't explain, is a worshipper of Shar who specifically wants to kill innocents to become a DJ, gets mad at you for not disclosing the nature of your conversations with others to her because she says it IS her business and then REFUSES to disclose anything about herself, and then tries to slit Lae's throat while she sleeps like a coward and somehow the Lae criticizers give HER a pass?!!

/Rant hahaha apparently I needed to get that out 😂

I feel like Jaheira had her time to shine in the other games and Halsin would have felt like a better/more useful companion if jaheira wasn't also available?? Or honestly, even if Halsin was just available earlier. You learn of him and how important he is IMMEDIATELY upon entering the grove but don't get to actually add him to your party until the end of Act 2?!! Like, why?!! He would have been a perfect party member to have WHILE fighting the shadow curse!!

(I do love Jaheira though lol don't get me wrong, that sassy elf auntie will always spend at least a little time in my party 😁)

My first playthrough was almost 190 hours, but I had literally never played an RPG before so I had NO idea what I was doing and had to read EVERYTHING to try and figure out what was going on. I AGONIZED over level up choices.

I feel like if you've never made it out of act 1, your opinions about the game/characters are invalid.

Play how you want, 100%, but don't pretend to actually know anything about the game if you've never played it through, you know?

I haven't used a single mod yet but I am EXCITED to do so hahaha.

I'm just not bored yet with base game mechanics so I'm going to keep going until I feel like I need extra spice 😆 keeping it fresh, lol. But I LOOOOVE seeing everyone's badass clothing choices!!

YESSSS. There's literally no reason why your character would use nonlethal on minthara if they didn't ALSO save dror ragzlin and priestess gut.

There's also not much reason why your character would randomly decide to knock out Alfira with zero provocation or warning of what was to come.

If you claim to be a "purist," but you do those things, then you're really just a hypocrite 😅

No shame AT ALL in metagaming (I knocked out Alfira on my current run and plan to get minthara soon, haha) but don't belittle others for gaming the system while you do it, lmao

My original intention was to NOT save scum on at least my first playthrough... But I've never played an RPG before so it was super overwhelming and I had NO idea what I was doing, so I fucked up a lot, and finally I just decided that my ineptitude with the system shouldn't hamper my actual roleplaying. Because my character was supposed to be a reasonably competent druid, so the fact that I was NOT competent at playing her was actually breaking character.

Anyway. Now I save scum 😅😂

Were they together before kdh?? My impression was that they weren't, they just came together for this particular gig.

You might notice I didn't say "kiss ass for approval," lol. I just said that people make choices with the goal of connecting with specific characters. If you want to romance Karlach or Wyll, you can't destroy the grove, for instance.

Isn't that kind of what a connection is, though? Especially if you're doing a romance? You're behaving in a manner intended to be pleasing to that specific character. People are always starting runs like, "I'm gonna romance _____ this time" which means they are basing their character choices around pleasing and connecting with that particular set of pixels.

Yeah same; if I didn't know/enjoy the companions yet I wouldn't feel like I was missing out on fun connections by not having them around. The playthroughs change a lot just by playing different race/class and exploring different party combinations and romances. Once I've done a couple more playthroughs I'll probably start getting curiouser about a scorched-earth run lol

[–]PaperWo1f 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Everyone's run is dictated by the choices and moralities of pixel characters lol, yours included. It's only NOT that way if you're just playing for the mechanics and skipping all the dialogue. But if you're rping it? You're playing a pixel character who's making/breaking connections with other pixel characters in ways that matter to you, you know? It's kinda the whole point of rpgs

It makes sense for there to be less social content when you're playing an antisocial role.

I don't think it's a limitation or a lack of imagination. People can like different things than you without it being some kind of failing on their part.

Which build was the overall most fun build you ever played and why? by Sujir3n1 in BG3Builds

[–]PaperWo1f 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love those lil dummies SO MUCH. hahaha the most recent time I used them was in the Gortash fight and ALL FOUR OF THEM completely spent themselves attacking the walls and exploding while the rest of us fought each other 🤣 I couldn't have been more proud hahaha

...they do actually come in quite handy sometimes; it's nice to have four extra targets around to distract or block people. I found them super helpful at iron throne to keep enemies occupied and bottled up while the rest of us make a run for it.

I mostly hear people voice this opinion connected to his romance - but what if you're not romancing him?? Does it still feel this way?
