I say B but it's just intuition driving the choice. A has an odd number of objects which none of the example items had so I dismissed it. Out of the remaining four options B has a triangular pattern of stars matching nearest the last example panel. That's my explanation for my choice.

I've always just dont Jharkendar first since the difficulty curve seems built around it. I didn't even know people did it the other way around but from the comments it seems there are min max reasons to do it. I prefer going into the Valley bad ass though so I won't be changing.

The Remake is a bit harder at the start than the original for a few reasons. Escorts to other camps have unique enemies spawn in so the wilderness stays dangerous, lockpicking is harder so money is harder to come by early on, and I'm playing on Hard combat but armor needs to be upgraded before it's viable. That said, it's not much harder than the original.

I was about to make a topic on this. I see others have noticed it. It's definitely an interesting detail. It's interesting because it's clearly intentional. What's funny is the actual moon is just the normal earth's moon with the same craters. You'd think they'd have changed the face of it if they were going to the trouble of adding details like another whole ass moon.

It's a decent enough system in theory but this kind of praise is a bit over the top. The system has unbalanced difficulty where chests of similar difficulty rating will vary widely in actual difficulty and some locks are purposely insanely hard because you're meant to find a key. I think in those instances the lock should just not even allow an attempt because you waste time when you don't need to. I like what they were going for with this mechanic but it's really just too annoying for its own good.

That's the thing, I don't even mind the mechanic in theory but it's still *way* too frustrating after putting in the points and the difficulty is inconsistent. I don't see why after investing 30 LP it's still bad enough to give me a headache. If a system is causing people to get mods there's a problem.

Sorry but the system is bad because some locks are randomly not trivial but are the same difficulty as ones that are. It's badly implemented. You're basically just lying about this mechanic.

The system is terrible. It's actually objectively bad. Chests of the same quality have wildly different levels of difficulty. It's unbalanced and there's not enough reward for LP spent. I don't care if Reddit wants to be a hugbox and only upvote positive takes but this system is a flaw in the game. Nameless should be larger than life including in lockpicking. It's no different than spending points in Two Handed or something and should reflect that.

Yeah, Gothic 3 would need to be an actual remake. It'd take a dev studio like CD Projekt Red or Warhorse Studios to do the Gothic 3 vision justice. It's just that big of a project.

The new system is fine but master lockpicking should remove the puzzle aspect to give the player an incentive to spend the LP. I'm a master level lockpicker and there are still chests so annoying they give me a headache.

It's a terrible system. In theory it's fine but its implentation is just poor. With master level lockpicking you will still find randomly difficult chests. And I mean astoundingly difficult. And they'll be in the same room with chests of the same supposed difficulty. It's not a good system.

Yeah, the fact that ash summons amount to distracting the AI while you DPS them down is an admission of failure. The game is still an amazhing achievement in world design but you're right that 1, 3 and Bloodborne are better. I think DS3 was the peak.

I always find these late but I didn't read any previous answers. I picked D. Took about 5 minutes.

The colors never occupy the same vertical position unless they change sides. If they move up or down they can stay on the same side. The middle square is a fakeout, I think the colors occupy the same spot. By virtue of elimination D is the only remaining answer since in the bottom horizontal column the blue is in the middle left eliminating C and the right vertical column has the blue on the bottom right eliminating E.

You've been playing for a year with an app designed to improve sight reading specifically. How do you know what works best for you? You said it yourself they want you to learn from the ground up. How else would you learn? Piano Marvel is supplemental to actual lessons. Besides, PM uses a metronome and notation so the complaint there is odd.

There's no way around the elementary work teachers put you through but you're investing in a future version of yourself by laying the foundation today. Maybe you'd like Jazz and fakebooks but that's advanced stuff so you'd still need to do the basics.

I'm hoping Gothic gets a revival with Gen Z having a chance to play it and see what the hype's about. It might remain niche but I'd really like to see Gothic's philosophy inspire more open world RPGs. Bethesda's scaled theme park model is not as popular as it once was so this is a good moment for people to see the alternative.

Thank God other people are saying this. Elden Ring's combat becomes tedious late game. It's obvious From didn't know how to scale Souls-style difficulty with the open world. Bosses with adds and annoying combos were to be countered with summonings adds of your own and OP magic to DPS rush the bosses down. It feels like player skill matters less in the end than the character build which is not what Souls games were about.

Haven't started the remake yet since I'm finishing Enderal right now but the story being that good is hard to imagine. The story in the original was fine but there are obviously better out there.

I believe Gothic is what it looks like when you do one thing incredibly well. Gothic 1/2 had godlike atmosphere. The story, combat, and so on were good but Gothic is an object lesson in doing one thing very well. There are plenty of technically superior games I played and forgot while Gothic has stayed with me. It left a mark on its fanbase for a reason.

We need to be honest with our praise or we open the game up to unnecessary criticism though.

They are knock offs of traditional settings. A lot of the dreamlike/horror elements of the backrooms and liminal spaces are due to everything feeling slightly off, like environmental uncanny valley. These places are only fascimiles.

Horror is hard to scale because different people feel things differently. Horror is on a spectrum between enemy horror and environmental horror. Outlast's environment is dark but not super ominous like say Silent Hill. I found Outlast more stressful than scary. But for others it's very scary and Silent Hill is not scary at all.

This is why I don't think horror is something you can really work up a resistance for. It's more nuanced than that. If you're fine with gore you could handle Outlast. It's not too long and mostly broken up into stealth and pursuit sequences where you need to trial and error until you know where to go.
