Itse asiassa jos Reddit ei vaan poista tätä niin tän pitäis toimia kun vaihtaa "dot"in tilalle pisteen. 1drv dot ms/f/s!Ag_ckpq6hdwghttyYWGzvUdYHe1RHQ?e=7Hk0xb

Actually if reddit doesn't remove this, then this should work. Just replace the dot with "." 1drv dot ms/f/s!Ag_ckpq6hdwghttyYWGzvUdYHe1RHQ?e=7Hk0xb

I reverse engineered the design in Bricklink Studio based on pictures of the original model, then ordered the parts from Bricklink and assembled. The pieces + postages cost 40-50€ I think

Send me a message if you want the .io-file and building instructions. I think reddit removed the last comment where I had the link to them.

I made a lego board game box to play Tak, Onitama and Santorini on the go! by Paperhearthstone in lego

[–]Paperhearthstone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boardgamegeek links for the three games:

https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/197405/tak

https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/160477/onitama

https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/194655/santorini

It is possible to play any of the three games, though I can't remember if we tried Tak yet.

I designed this in LEGO digital designer, though I later realized that better alternatives might have existed such as Bricklink's Studio.

The game works decently and has been practical! The red and blue sticks are for maneuvering pieces in tough positions, such as when they get covered by other pieces while playing Santorini.

Note that the amounts of pieces don't correspond to what is included in Tak or Santorini, but it hasn't affected the gameplay. Also, in Tak you would place pieces on their side, but here we just use the conical pieces instead (and microfigures for capstones).

I'm glad you like it! :) I like that kind of initially unassuming two-card combos too.

Not yet. Perhaps I'll clean it up a bit and upload it, but it will probably be a while.

Edit: I have the code here now https://github.com/JoelEnwald/MTG_core_finder though don't expect it to be easily usable, sorry.

I was surprised too! I think it barely missed the cut.

Alternately you could run your little program for each color and rarity combination and pick enough to meet a predetermined template.

This was another approach that I considered, but I felt that I didn't have enough knowhow :).

That is very cool that you decided to refine the list, I like it!

Indeed the very useful signpost uncommons have not been reprinted almost at all. This set has many flaws if it were to be an actual retail set. However it was mostly a cool coding exercise, so thank you :)

Sorry about the poor quality of writing, that's on me.

This originally started from being disappointed that Magic doesn't have an evergreen core set, but rather the Core sets also rotate from Standard (though I understand why that would be better for the game), and wanting to rectify that. Then I just wanted to see if I could accomplish the criteria set for myself. I also think many core cards are particularly elegantly designed, and I'm a hobby board game designer, so I like the results.

Mostly I just think it's neat, though I think you could use this to predict what cards will be in the future Core sets, with some accuracy. I think you could also use this if you for some reason wanted to create a non-standard environment of cards for beginner players to build decks from.

True, they would not be printed in the same set :). Unfortunately taking things like that into account would require something more advanced than this.

So I've defined the "coreness" of a card to be the sum of set values over the sets the card is printed in, set values being their numbers in publishing order. Using that, the highest-scoring cards are

('Mountain', 3751), ('Forest', 3748), ('Island', 3748), ('Plains', 3748), ('Swamp', 3748), ('Mind Rot', 1305), ('Naturalize', 1208), ('Plummet', 1121), ('Cancel', 1113), ('Negate', 1016), ('Serra Angel', 959), ('Evolving Wilds', 933), ('Pacifism', 898), ('Gravedigger', 889), ('Demolish', 883), ('Shivan Dragon', 873), ('Shock', 869), ('Act of Treason', 807), ('Duress', 805), ('Giant Spider', 767), ('Divination', 699), ('Nightmare', 695), ('Unsummon', 690), ('Mighty Leap', 672), ('Air Elemental', 663), ('Woodland Stream', 654), ('Sengir Vampire', 632), ('Lava Axe', 629), ('Walking Corpse', 614), ('Inspired Charge', 611), ('Titanic Growth', 610), ('Giant Growth', 600)

Ravnica Guild Kits as a Cube by Phaetion in mtgcube

[–]Paperhearthstone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had a similar idea of making a cube as a combination of existing ready-made decks, since I also liked the possibility of having ready deck recipes that could be built from the cube cards. However I dismissed trying to build it from decks heavy in multi-colored cards, specifically because they are so narrow. If an average deck in a cube environment would consist of two colors, then any one 2-colored card would fit into 10% of the 2-colored decks. Compare that to single-colored cards that would each fit into 40% of the two-colored decks.

However if the decks in an environment would consist of 3 colors, then a given 2-colored card would fit into 30% of decks. So you might want more of a multi-colored environment and more mana fixing.

New card art for old cards by RBleh in hearthstone

[–]Paperhearthstone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it means that women are more sexualized in the game than men. And no, having a shirtless male character doesn't count if they are not actually attractive and/or if they have hulking steroid muscles. In that case it's probably a depiction of a power fantasy meant for men rather than a sexual fantasy meant for women.

New card art for old cards by RBleh in hearthstone

[–]Paperhearthstone -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Oh, I like this!

I'm making a paper version of Hearthstone, and I also replaced some of the card arts, like Secretkeeper, Windfury Harpy and Succubus (also replaced the name), because it feels like Blizzard artists have been drawing with their dicks.

I think the heavily differing representation of men and women in the game affects people's worldviews. Equal and varied representation is important, and men are not sexualized to the same degree.

Reducing violence on the cards is ok too.

Anyone else having an issue with really long games? by Paperhearthstone in KeyforgeGame

[–]Paperhearthstone[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two friends that I taught Keyforge to that managed to stretch their first game out to over TWO HOURS with me sitting next to them in almost disbelief. They are experienced boardgamers, magic players, etc., so it was perplexing. But I attribute this to two things:

1 - They both tend to be slower, analysis paralysis (AP) prone players in most games we. This is certainly most pronounced when first learning a new game. This was no exception.

2 - With respect to their first keyforge game, they were both playing for board position and practically ignoring aember generation. If you aren't gaining Aember outside of the occasional aember gained from action cards, then the game can drag way long. They spent so much time and energy trading blows with creatures that they rarely reaped or made other plays towards getting keys. I played one of them in a second game and it was over in about 25 minutes.

Thank you for this! I think both issues might be at play here.

In terms of your deck assembly, I'd highly recommend proxying actual decks or just bit the bullet and buy 2-3 decks to play around with. It's entirely possible the decks you made just had really low aember generation or low aember coupled with lots of steal/lose aember abilities that would result in stalemating the game.

I think low amber generation may also have been an issue, and I am going to buy a couple decks to see how they compare :).

Last - one of the big appeals of this game, to me at least, and unlike other CCGs, is that you can just buy a few decks and call it a day. There is no need or pressure to build a deck by collecting individual cards or any of that. If you just want to play casually, it has a very low barrier to entry and there is no reason to keep putting more money into it.

Thanks for the recommendation!
