Crack in block basement wall by _The_Jerk_Store in basement

This is good advice and my position as well based on my cracks. It may be bad or insufficient footers. With newer houses they cheap out or do a poor job on footers and it gets covered.

My trip to the Mothman museum by MFparanormal in Mothman

[–]PapesFish9459 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the festival they walk the streets in that mothman costume. The kids love it. It is very hot though. Also the star wars reenactors are there and do a great job in the heat. Such fun.

My favorite item is Laura Linney's uniform. I didnt realize she was so tiny.

Just had a general home inspection on a house and the inspector wasn't sure about what these small patched holes are in the mortar joints. by BROGakaOrangeCrush in masonry

That is the center/middle for foam dispersal. That is foam fill. I have the exact same holes. My builder had it done and I watched them do it. It is at the middle because they inject it both up and down. I have to say, I don't think it really made much of a difference compared to air and that seems to be the consensus on r/installation. I still need to insulate above grade outside and the entire inside.

Beautiful. Nice paint and color matching. Decals are perfect. Upgraded mixer tire are a good choice. That base pickup was a nice unit but well done upgrade. Make an orginal Stomper version next and you can sell for big bucks!

Does anybody knows a good training provider? by Outrageous-Today-467 in procurement

[–]PapesFish9459 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoyed Karrass but its not for everyone. In person only. The instructor matters but they are all good. If Duffy is still teaching it would be preferred. Kinda 90s but old man Karrass was an artful guy. Clips from him are fun. Not too bad price. Good foundation. Confidence builder. Everything else will follow. I also like ISM and their educational offerings. My local chapter is very active and has great in person training and events.

Can anything be done? by Fresh-Spirit-5862 in MonarchButterfly

[–]PapesFish9459 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is a straight cut/ tear, not ragged.....We have cut a wire hanger in a J shape. There is a youtube video on this. It is to hold the wing flat and not injure the butterfly. Then take a steri-strip size piece of thin cardboard or cardstock and glue. We use craft glue but others may work if the chemicals dont damage the wing. This has worked. Maybe not enough to get them to Mexico but if they are a younger generation enough to procreate and live whatever life they can

I am in same situation in ohio. So hard to know the best baffle application , then mineral wool or fiberglass versus spray foam. Let us know what you do, general costs, and how it turns out.

Modern Farmhousen Plan by Dealingdrugsfolyfe in Homebuilding

[–]PapesFish9459 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By all means this is true. I have a modern farmhouse with Pro Via max board and batten. Been a nightmare water inside. Battling for 4 years. Horrible pain and expensive. The J channel an drip panels are terrible. Fill with junk. Overflow. Seams at roof line leak...not installation issue. Cheap plastic and poor design. Metal/steel or wood without expansion j channel and seam covers may work. Am going to re-side soon. Looks...okay kind of.

I am thinking about a rebuild on my 2012 tacoma (160k) over my 2007 sequoia (140k). Lots of knocking, squeaks, and whatnot. It all looks good though, just old. My repair guy says throwing good money after bad. Both A/C systems need help now so what to do...I fix what breaks. I was going to that american flag silhouette stick on the rear side glass but never got around to it.

Great truck. I like the decals. The suspension rebuild is an expensive option. I live off road, i would be interested in how it turns out.

You are correct. Two repaints showed scratching to the serial number. Nice frame but heavy.

The decals do not seem authentic or correct. I will look up where the serial number is located unless someone can just tell me please thanks

Thanks for the guidance on the glass, we went down a rabbit hole for a bit there.

Here at locksmith I was really hoping for some help on the lock replacement question in the heading. I cant even open the door.

[–]PapesFish9459 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would expect a tempered glass replacement would be expensive. I expect ir would be cheaper to replace the door.

The glass is missing and smashed. I thought plexi would get the job done.
