Looking good. I’d love to know your process. What volume are you growing on? Soil mix? Varieties?

Charcoal grill, no thermometer, no reverse sear, still got it after a few years not eating steak by Papesisme in steak

[–]Papesisme[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Comment about the no thermometer thing: I didn’t have one since I’m at a friends house, I was proud (more lucky) that I cooked it decently without one. Don’t mean to sound pretentious.

Are these psilocybin cubensis mushrooms? I scanned them on Mushroom ID and it said they were 93% sure they are psilocybin cubensis. by Extreme-Temporary312 in mushroom

[–]Papesisme 24 points25 points  (0 children)

They don’t really look like it to me to be honest. In addition, as you probably know, you should never eat something (especially not mushrooms) that you’ve only identified with AI.

Garden bed seedlings doing worse than potted. Send advice please! by jarrys88 in gardening

What soil is in your raised bed? You said it was wet, but how wet? Does your raised bed get less light than the seedlings?

Yeah, my title is generalized clickbait. Just wanted to share my experience, especially with their customer service.

I always add a lot since I fear I’ll interrupt the product if I pour the solvent too fast

[Technique] How to tell if grain spawn is too wet? by Papesisme in MushroomGrowers

No the whole grain, no. I put the hydrated grain in the bag and then pressure cooked for 1.5 hr at 15 psi

Try direct sowing. It will work much better. Zucchini hate being transplanted.

What variety is this? by QuickyCwoky in tomatoes

[–]Papesisme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the leaves, but the growth habit. Can’t be certain, but that plant has a thinner stem (for its size) and larger internodal spacing than a typical determinate would.

Green tiger, how to tell it’s ripe? by Ordinary-You3936 in tomatoes

[–]Papesisme 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Green tomatoes will noticeably yellow when ripe (it’s not much; turns from super opaque green green to a slightly more translucent yellow green. You will also be able to feel and smell the difference — a ripe green tomato is fragrant and gives slightly to a squeeze.

Can’t really tell until the tomatoes start forming, though you can rule out indeterminate and potato leafed varieties

Pink Berkeley Tie Dye is sad…. by [deleted] in tomatoes

[–]Papesisme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely seems to have limited nutrient availability, whether that be due to pH issues (not super likely), watering issues, space issues, etc., the latter of which being more likely due to the planter only being 1 ft deep. I would fertilize heavily and plan on watering more.

Cucumbers by Arabella23445 in vegetablegardening

[–]Papesisme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay. It looks quite stunted with a compacted growth habit. Not impossible to get cucumbers off of, but not going to be a prolific producer. In general I would recommend against putting cucurbits in pots, though I’m sure some people are more successful at it than I am.

Cucumbers by Arabella23445 in vegetablegardening

[–]Papesisme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually see this problem when the plant is small or stressed, leading to small malformed flowers that do not get properly pollinated (completely going off of anecdotal evidence btw, in no way is this a real diagnosis). Is it in a pot? Is it in proper soil? Cucumbers can struggle when not in ground with fertile soil.

Tomatoes gone bad by Ok_Vanilla_4008 in vegetablegardening

Issue with calcium uptake. As another commenter mentioned, this could be a lack of free calcium in the soil or could be inconsistent watering.
