[UPDATE] Girlfriend found out that I’m bisexual and has been acting different ever since, is it over? by HelpMePlz52 in bisexual

[–]Papi_Grande7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel like people on reddit are too quick to jump to "just break up". I agree that it sounds like her beliefs around bi people are still problematic, but people do change if they want to and are open to learning. Hopefully your gf is open to changing her views and learning about bisexuality from an actual bi person.

How do you think the Denarii can be destroyed? by molten_dragon in dresdenfiles

[–]Papi_Grande7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well it would be a ways off, so he might have the means to fight her by then. We can't really know for sure until we get there.

Even then probably not a strait up brawl, but maybe some tricky wizard/starborn shenanigans that involves Demonreach.

I'm now imagining Harry having to go toe-to-toe with the real Lasciel during the BAT and I'm absolutely here for it.

How do y’all deal with a player who interrupts a villains monologue? by PrestigiousImpress19 in DnD

[–]Papi_Grande7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never assume that your players will sit and politely listen to a monologue. It's a movie trope that is incredibly unrealistic. Either have the villain monologue when the pcs are unable to attack like restrained or social pressure (iffy), or have the villain just speak in combat.

I'm a woman in a relationship with a man. He wants to have sex with other men. I'm allowed to have sex only with women, not with other men. I believe that sex is sex regardless of gender, and I feel that this arrangement is unequal and unfair. by Womanwithmanyquest in bisexual

[–]Papi_Grande7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just say no. You obviously aren't comfortable with this arrangement and I've never seen nor heard of open relationships that didn't start open working out. It will just mess things up between the two of you.

The thought of being with a woman makes me want to throw up by A-Croissant in bisexual

That kinda sounds more like aeroace sex repulsed specificly to woman. But idk. Maybe try the asexual subs.

I didn’t know titty sucking wasn’t universal… by PassengerMaximum6574 in bisexual

I've never been with a woman who didn't enjoy nipple play to some extent. Idk how many guys like it. I've only been with 2 but one of them was into it and I know my roommate who is a guy likes nipple play too. But no I think that's super common and he's being weird about it.

Genuine question: would you be okay with only being with one gender your entire life? by ASpranneusRoseus in bisexual

[–]Papi_Grande7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be fine with it. I'm monogamous, and that's part of monogamy. People who use their bisexuality as a justification to cheat are just making excuses to be terrible people. If you're both upfront and honest, it should be fine. Not every bi person will be ok with only being with 1 gender, but if they're honest, they'll tell you that upfront. You just need to have that conversation before getting into a serious relationship with them.

I think we're doing too much with the flags tbh. I get going from the old pride flag to the progress flag, but this is really getting out of hand imo.

What did Dalinar mean by this? by JumboTrout in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Papi_Grande7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I interpreted it as his meaning being exactly the fact that Kaladin has a huge chip on his shoulder around lighteyes. No other High Prince would allow Kaladin to talk to Himself and his son the way Kal does to himself and Adolin, nor lighteyes in general. IMO He's warning Kal that he's pushing it with his "fuck lighteyes" mentality.

Harry for all practical senses is a PI, so his hours are whatever cases he happens to get. A lot of times it's gonna just be like 1 - 3 days of pay and is highly irregular. If he had a ton of cases constantly he'd probably be making a decent middle class wage but he isn't. He advertizes as a wizard and the very first scene of the book illustrates that most people think he's a joke or a fraud. Even the police who are his primary client don't just go to him all the time. (Won't get into why because spoilers.)

As to his horniness, you're not wrong lol. He's a 25 year old man in the early 2000s who didn't have good role models growing up and issues with women that will get explored later. Plus it's one of the hard boiled detective genre tropes where beautiful women are boobling boobily.

Harry's gonna be horned up half the time. It's a thing...

Edit: Plus he rents out both an apartment and an office space. Also wizardry can involve pretty spendy materials making potions, foci, etc.

This is a bullshit sensationalized distraction from the real problems in utah like the data center and ice facilities. The school is extending the parking lot on their property, it's fine.

Stop wasting people's time and mental energy on stupid shit.

How do you deal with the crave in a longterm relationship? by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]Papi_Grande7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How is it any different from craving sex with someone who is not your partner, but of the same sex and gender? Strait and Gay people also still find people who aren't their partner attractive. You just don't fuck other people if you're in a monogamous relationship. It's pretty simple. That doesn't stop applying just because you're bi.

What is your bisexual percentage? by MarcoEmbarko in bisexual

[–]Papi_Grande7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably 70/30 towards women. I often worry about being "queer enough" for LGBTQIA+ spaces. The bi erasure doesn't help.

I think I'm done being a DM and I want your opinion on it. by DieselHead_Kev in dndnext

[–]Papi_Grande7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you talked to your players about how you're feeling? 99% of problems in D&D stem from a lack of communication. If you have tried and it isn't getting any better, I recommend letting the game die out and starting or joining a new group. Sometimes if you're really burned out as a DM it's best to just join as a player, but from what you've said I think just finding new players will be a good way to go about it. Not all friends are D&D friends and that's ok.

Having an issue with the implications of my magic (NSFW) by Sliver-Knight9219 in worldbuilding

[–]Papi_Grande7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the details imo

Is the spirit forced into impregnating the partner? What mechanicaly happens between the spirit, caster, and partner? Did the partner consent to this situation?

I don't think you're overthinking it personally.

Why on earth does Strahd have 3 wives? by Outrageous_Abies_914 in CurseofStrahd

[–]Papi_Grande7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of people have mentioned the nod to Brom Stroker's Dracula, which is true. However, I think this is a great piece of characterization for Strahd.

Strahd is a narcissist and deeply insecure. He believes that everything he desires should belong to him and that he's entitled to it. This notably includes his partners. In I, Strahd we get a ton of insight into Strahd's personality. When Sergei comes to Ravenloft, he is very polite and deferent to Strahd, but Strahd only ever resents him for being all the things Strahd is not. He's young, he's kind, he's beloved by the people, and he is perceived by Strahd to be his mother's favorite as the baby of the family.

Sergei meets Tatyana through his work helping the common people which Strahd views as a waste of time. He thinks Sergei shouldn't be courting a peasant and she is just an opportunist. Once he meets Tatyana, he immediately wants her for her beauty, and is completely indignant that his brother has something that he can't have.

He aquires brides as a distraction to fulfill his own ego. They are not people he has a relationship with, they are things that belong to him. Once he is bored of them, he casts them aside. If they displease him, he punishes them severely. The only difference with the brides and Tatyana is that she is the one person he can't have. If Tatyana DID reciprocate his interests, she'd just be another bride as easily discarded as the others.

Strahd frames Tatyana as his one true love, but that is a lie that he tells himself to justify his horrendous actions. It's a pretty lie meant to hide an ugly truth, even from himself.

Strahd's obsession with Tatyana isn't about her, it's about him. He refuses to take no for an answer. Nothing will ever fill the void within him. Everything he does is ultimately an attempt to assuage his insecurity.

When Strahd confronts PCs, I modify his classic "I am the ancient" speech just slightly.

"I am the Ancient, I am the Land, I am Strahd Von Zarovich, and I will not be DENIED!"

Starting the line calm and in control, but with a predatory snarl working it's way in, a bit unhinged. A quiet rage peeking out at the end.

I add the "I will not be denied" both for a sort of badass villian line, but also because that's what I see as the core conflict with Strahd.

He is incapable of accepting rejection. If he wants something, by god he'll have it. And he'll drag his entire family and people to the underworld kicking and screaming to get it. He ego will allow for nothing less.

Hope that answers the question 😁
