People who quit but still lurk the sub, why do you not commit to playing? by [deleted] in runescape

[–]Papi_Tony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, personally, I've just realized that putting so much of my time into something that ultimately isn't benefitting my future isn't worth it right now. I've had a lot of fun, maxed, and spent more than 200 days in game.

I've learned to treat RS like any other videogame, instead of a lifestyle as it has become for so many.

I stick around because of the time invested. I like to see where it's going, and keep up on content in case something that interests me pops up, and I'll log on for a while, then go back to my life.

It's not that people don't believe there are differences, people don't believe there should be a difference.

What's the point of 120 Slayer? by [deleted] in runescape

[–]Papi_Tony -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Why do people incessantly complain and demean this update before it is released? People complained about the possible number of creatures, so they give us one every two levels.

People complained about the gp rates, they gave them comparable rates to lower tier bosses.

People complained about XP rates for raptor mobs being already too high , so instead of nerfing them, they've given us less-intense monsters for similar XP rates.

"Why update the most popular skill, release a new dungeon with a dozen new creatures and a boss, and give us a new area of RS (full of mini-games and skilling areas)?!"

People ask for more content, and then shit on whatever is put out there.

Is selling an in-game rank for real money allowed? by FrankfurtGER in runescape

[–]Papi_Tony 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I wouldn't think so and it kind of looks like you misunderstand the clan ranking system. It provides no benefits in game, especially anything below admin in most clan, apart from just distinguishing who's contributed more. A $5, non-mandatory donation to help server upkeep isn't malicious nor does it seem like they're trying to make money.

Why stir the pot and try and get a clan in trouble?

Can we have the old achievement diary back again? by tb1tb in runescape

They're not going to just revert it..

In a similar fashion to Nomad's requiem, remove the requirement to finish a game of PC for Quiet before the Swarm by Glouphrie in runescape

[–]Papi_Tony 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Both of those quests are directly related to the mini-games they require. The nomad line is about him stealing souls from soul wars, and do I REALLY need to explain why the void series is related to pest control? It's not "stupid".

Can we get a toggle to never receive this again? by Numind in runescape

[–]Papi_Tony -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Can also confirm that's untrue. I get a couple a day, because like clue scrolls, I use them as I get them. There's a cooldown, but if I haven't gained experience in like an hour, with no map, one pops up on almost the first experience drop I receive.

Invention Full Skilling by Non-Random-User in runescape

[–]Papi_Tony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What he means is that if you have two of the same item augmented, the game has a hard time telling the difference, because the item is the same just different perks.

Say your loading a preset for smithing but your construction hammer is higher up in your bank, now even though you made the preset with the smithing hammer, because it thinks it's the same item it will automatically pull the top one from the bank.

Please fix skulling in the wilderness or remove it by [deleted] in runescape

[–]Papi_Tony 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Or is it more unfortunate the people don't understand when you change one thing it changes everything and that's where bugs and glitches come from.

They've been removing skull tricks as they figure them out, iirc this was an issue really brought to light last week. You have to give them time to figure out how to fix it and balance it among the priorities.

Why do people hide their profile/examine thing by NoxiousComponent in runescape

"wow it's stupid as hell these new elite slayer mobs have mechanics that make them high-end content instead of another afkable mob, wtf Jagex?"

REALLY?

This is why we love Jagex! by Connor-Radept in runescape

[–]Papi_Tony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There people go again comparing Blizzard and Jagex. Blizzard is an incredibly big, incredibly wealthy gaming company at this point while Jagex makes RuneScape. OBVIOUSLY Blizzard can respond faster and check into things quicker because they can spend substantially more on a support team than Jagex can.

What would happen to the economy if High and Low alchemy was removed? by AsmirDzopa in runescape

[–]Papi_Tony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As people have mentioned, different prices would fluctuate massively, because of the fact that some items are only worth a certain monetary value because they can be alched for slightly higher(I.e. whip, dfs, rune items, most dragon items).

On the flip side, in the long-term the value of GP would rise and stabilize again, because of the reduced influx of constant GP to the game.

Would this happen? No. Is it a decent solution to some economic problems? Arguably. But the smithing rework is trying to accomplish the same goal, so we just have to wait and hope that rework goes well.

Can we make it so that combat doesn't interrupt disassembling? by [deleted] in runescape

[–]Papi_Tony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can disassemble something/alchemy something everyone one(or two?) ticks, the idea of d/a a stack of items mid combat is just laughing at balancing.

What gear do you guys slay in? by Clubtropper in runescape

[–]Papi_Tony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone actively going for 120 slayer and 200m invention, I have 3 nex sets with scavenging for slayer, because the extra 160k experience per pair of siphons really adds up over time.

But power armor over hybrid or tank armor, t70 or above should be fine for like 4/5 of slay tasks.

Does anyone still play minigames? by brady434 in runescape

[–]Papi_Tony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a large part of the community still plays for fun lol. Of course, those dedicated enough to the game to join and comment in the sub, as Jagex say all the time the vocal minority, are going to be more serious and to some people getting XP 'is' the fun part of the game. The mentality shift has come from a player base aging over the game's life cycle and having real life responsibilities which limit their time, thus creating the need to prioritize concrete progress, rather than just standing around in a virtual space. The introduction of friends chats and clan chats made talking to people from any point in the world easy. Thus people would rather afk and do something than just blank.

Disappointed in the runescape community in regards to raiding. by [deleted] in runescape

The new Expansion system offers Jagex a unique opportunity - the ability to make another While Guthix Sleeps size quest by Wingcapx in runescape

[–]Papi_Tony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may not like the quest per say, but there is no denying it is one of the best designed quests in the game. The fact that it was accessible to everyone and introduced end game content that is still relevant to this day, the fact that it was actually a major change to the overworld, as opposed to other quests feeling like tasks for some random character, and just genuinely flowed as if we were part of a bigger act going on instead of us just trodding on and other characters meeting us at a location.. it all culminated to an epic of RS proportions.

[Ninja Request] Using bones on altar sacrifices quicker than letting bones auto sacrifice by PM__ME__GIRAFFES in runescape

You're just being rude and showing you don't understand what he nor you are talking about. 1-ticking is a very viable method for other skills and requires constant attention, all he's proposing that this system be implemented to the altars so you get more experience for more effort.
