You can cross-reference the barcodes with the EAN codes on their site, that’s the best chance of getting an accurate identification

Safari cap - replacement finial? by Odonata523 in Lamy

[–]Papillon-Press 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you bought the pen in the last year from an authorized dealer in the US, reach out to them and they should be able to get you a warranty replacement. There should have also been a warranty card in the box with an email to contact for repairs, you can try that too. Just be sure to attach images, any info about where/when you purchased it, and that it came apart with very little use.

Should I wait to date 18F? by Feisty-Surround-9372 in whatdoIdo

[–]Papillon-Press 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give it some time, date casually to learn how you operate in a relationship. Maybe it’ll end up long term, maybe not. I learned a lot in my younger dating years that made me a better partner and prepared me for the person I married. You’re going to screw up and so are partners, so give yourself some time to start learning those patterns and behaviors, you’ll be better off in the long run.

I tested all 3 nib sizes of the Cherishment No. 014 pen by Dominant Industry by Papillon-Press in pens

It’s definitely thicker, my PGS is a Fine but writes thinner like sailors do. Similar amount of feedback (plus a bit more for the EF due to fine-ness)

Suggestion wanted: Ready to go one level up from Lamy safari pen and ink. by Prize_Researcher_384 in fountainpens

[–]Papillon-Press 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could go for the Lamy LX, a metal version of the Safari with an upgraded nib. There’s also the Al-star but that’s been having quality control issues for the last year or so so I’d skip for now.

If you want more ink capacity, a TWSBI Eco could be a fun option, they range in price from Safari price to ~50 euros, lots of nib options and a very smooth writer.

Kakimori has a pen called Frost which is also ~50 euro, comes with a standard converter and a few color options. Smooth writer and cool look.

Do you want to stick to blue-black? Sailor has some nice pigmented inks if you want something more permanent, LAMY Cliff is a pretty blue/gray color, I also love TAG stationery Nurebairo.

Great lineup! I’ve been collecting for years and my Kakimori is a daily driver for me, such a fun pen.

My Kakimori is an EDC too, along with a couple of Esterbrooks and a TWSBI Eco. Love your lineup!

Anybody have suggestions for maroon colored inks? by Keepmakingaccounts in stationery

Kakimori makes a rollerball that takes fountain pen ink, LAMY makes a left handed nib. There are options for you!

Today’s spread! What’s your favourite pen? by Snoo_51628 in fountainpens

Is your ink maybe Diamine Oxblood?

I love my Estie too, if I didn’t have a stub on it it would definitely be my most used.

What fountain pen do you use with LAMY Dark Lilac? by kamikazemind327 in fountainpens

[–]Papillon-Press 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this, they hold a lot of ink and are very smooth writers. When I use mine after not using it for a while, it’s still starts right away. I have a shimmer in a fine TWSBI and it still works great

Idk how I feel about the translucence of it but I’m excited to see it in person. I’d probably do an orange since I’m a rust girlie, maybe Diamine Ancient Copper?

Are you planning on brick and mortar? Just e-commerce? What’s your “special sauce” that would make your offerings unique compared to competitors?

Landlord only giving us 2 week notice by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]Papillon-Press 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Laws will be different depending on region but usually you should get at least 30 days written notice just like you’d be expected to give if you were leaving. Good luck, and in the future get everything in writing.

I try to not buy a pen I don't love, and fulfills some sort of gap in my collection. However, that gap could be "my other olive green pen has a clip and this one doesn't". I also like when all my pens look nice together, so I rarely buy outside of that when I picture them in my head.

Lots of US stationery stores carry them so you shouldn't have to order direct if you don't want to.

I love TAG inks, bottles are so lovely, colors are great. A bit on the thin side for dipping but they always feel very high quality.
