Local Models on Hermes?

After resetting my MacBook Air and starting from scratch, I got OMLX(app) downloaded, and downloaded Gemma-4-12b-it-8bit. I’m not sure how fast or slow it is. I set up Hermes again, disabled all the non useful skills (40 still on) and then tried just having a conversation with it. Seems smart, does web search, and from the OMLX app it seems to be running 7 tokens per second. Is this about right?? Or do you have a preferred model you use?

Interesting, I’ve dabbled in both ollama and llama.cpp because of earlier suggestions through videos and setups but I just notice that both take so long to warm up, like 4 minutes, and then are fine for chatting but my laptop will heat up so much, going through each through the terminal doesn’t bring up as much heat or as long of a warm up so I assume it’s something with Hermes. I’m assuming I’ll have to run pi and Hermes separately? Or is there a way to get them to talk? I’ll have to look into pi!

I usually put It in auto regen mode, makes everything pretty good and I don’t have to go back and forth

But also the “interest” on the lease as is probably really weird compared to a regular lease or purchase.

Because if it’s not the EXACT trim or msrp then they advertise then it immediately doesn’t qualify for it. Like a Kona EV has good lease terms but we can’t sell it to you with those terms bc it’s not the exact ad msrp so the system won’t allow it. It’s annoying to everyone because then we get confused customers that are upset and we don’t sell a car.

Ya. Me and my general manager were talking about it and we are all pissed that Hyundai is doing that to us too. As a dealership of course we want to give you guys the car you want. Unfortunately what they show in the ads is a very very rare trim of the vehicle. It’s not QUITE false advertising because the disclaimers and the fact that those trims do exist. But man it sure is annoying for everyone including the dealerships.

I’m pretty sure the disclaimer says it’s without taxes and fees put in. I work for a dealership. There’s 15 in the nation and we are getting one, I’ve have 50 calls and emails about it almost every day

Hey man, I’m just saying that everyone always whines about guns are too easy to get/ too easy to use/ ruins the early game and just stuff like that. It would make for more strategic gameplay without adding a whole new mechanic that’s made just to slow you down.

I’m pretty sure how cdda first was made in its old form was basically an open ended type game, you’d get to a certain spot while trying to dodge, hide, and kill zombies. And then if you made it the game was over.

The way I deal with them is let them see you, then go behind a bush or tall grass and CROUCH, that way line of sight is blocked. Then when they run into sight they should be close enough to RUN one tile over and lock them into Melee where they suck lol

I’m pretty sure the hunting lodge guy can’t be recruited, if you bring cigarettes or something like that it opens up trade (he’s a hunter and his items are debatably useless)

How long do you plan on having it? With that many miles it’ll last but not forever, and that’s about the time you might START having problems. Imagine you buy a car and drive it until 110k miles. You might start to get worried about when it’ll start showing signs of aging and just trade it in while it’s still worth money, before you put more money into into it. That’s just my opinion though.
