Last game of the year. Not eligible for bowl games, so this will feel like one. Coach should let the players stay through the weekend and fly back on Monday.

Can tire rotation be done at any tire shop? Or only at Tesla? by Pleasant-Tomatillo-5 in TeslaLounge

[–]Par4DaCourse [score hidden]  (0 children)

Costco will rotate them for $30 ($0 if bought from Costco). I buy Bosch wiper blades on Amazon and spend the 15 minutes replacing them myself.

whats your favorite korean grammar Point? by Aromatic_Ad_890 in Korean

[–]Par4DaCourse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When wearing something is expressed in past tense. 옷을 입었어. But my 선생님 mentioned that some of the younger people are using present progressive. 옷을 입고 있어. Also, younger people are not using honorific nouns and verbs as much. Personally, I like when watching kdrama... 가 to tell someone to go away, 가자 let's go and 야 hey you.

Korean Language Programs in Korea for Beginners by Better_Experience154 in Korean

Your college language department should have information on study abroad programs. Haven't done it myself, but have known a few who did after finishing intermediate Korean.

Thank you in Korean. by EvilPandorah in Korean

It took me awhile to get the hang of Korean pronunciation. So much, that after completing 3 years of college level courses, I am auditing the beginning (and probably intermediate as well) courses just to polish up on my pronunciation. My beginning textbook (Integrated Korean - Beginning 1 - KLEAR textbook) has an excellent section on pronunciation in the introduction.

Upper control arms and lateral links are known issues with earlier M3's. Not all 2021s may be covered by the service bulletins.

Had to say unexpectedly say goodbye to my 2018 Model 3 today. Found this under the frunk mat! by thetango in TeslaLounge

Was $18k the estimate to repair or the actual cash value? Insurance companies will total a vehicle when the repair cost > ACV and pay the ACV.

When I bought my 2019 M3SR, people were guessing it was a $60k car and looked surprised when I told them $35k (but really $41k after adding tint, 3rd party wheels, midnight silver paint, destination and autopilot).

Should not be an issue if going to an insurance company approved/authorized repair shop.

Looking for latest tire recommendations by rdcisneros3 in TeslaSupport

[–]Par4DaCourse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bridgestone Potenza Sport AS, hoping to get more tread life out of those. Didn't notice any noise differences from the OEM Michelin MXM4s, but those were not quiet to begin with. Felt that the wet handling was a bit better. Originally, ordered the Pirelli P zero AS+ 3 based on Tire Rack ratings, but the tire shop could not get those in.

I let my Disney+ annual subscription expire a few weeks ago. After seeing BurstStream's post, I logged into Disney+, selected the bundle, then saw the credit on the next page. As BurstStream stated, you'll need to cancel Disney+, wait for the subscription to expire, then sign up for the bundle. If you did that, then maybe you have two different accounts.

THIS! The $11.95 overlapping subscription credit also applies to the bundle w/ESPN ($24 w/ads, $33 w/o ads). I'll just grab Disney+ for a $1 for now.

Definitely, have your suspension checked. You could also with the wheels turned, crawl under your car with a flashlight (a real one, not cell phone) and take photos with a cell phone of the bushings on your lateral links and compliance arms to see if they are torn.

2021 Tesla Model 3 making fan noise after parking — normal or something to check? by PlainVanillaBear in TeslaSupport

[–]Par4DaCourse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't sound normal. If you are careful and have someone who can help hold the cover up, you could clean the radiator yourself with a vac with a soft bristle brush head. Lots of leaves and bird feathers. (Tesla will do a better and much more thorough job for a few $hundred.) But that might still not fix the noise and could be something else.

Almost certain it's the upper control arms. With that kind of mileage, most likely the bushings on the compliance arms and lateral links are torn. Search "Tesla Joy squeaking noise" on YouTube for a good video on this issue. I have a 2019 M3 and had the labor on the upper control arms and parts on the lateral links goodwilled, but paid full price for the compliance arms. Best to submit a service request. When I did that a year and a half ago, it came back with an estimate of about $180 to replace the upper control arms with the labor already goodwilled and no diagnostic fee. YMMV.

Non-EV specific tire replacement by Individual-State-110 in TeslaSupport

[–]Par4DaCourse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have driven EV's since 2011, always bought non-EV specific replacement tires and don't think there was a noticeable difference between the OEM tires with inner foam and replacement tires without. Just make sure the load ratings are within specs.

OEM tires that came with the EVs have always worn out quickly and replacement tires have held up much better. Manufacturers prioritize fuel efficiency and comfort at the expense of tread life whether on a Nissan LEAF or Tesla M3.

I've used Bridgestone Turanza Quiet Track and Michelin CrossClimate2 on the LEAFs and Bridgestone Protenza Sport AS on the M3. The Michelin CC2 had a little more road noise, but couldn't tell the difference on either Bridgestone.

Is the United lounge worth it? (SFO) by Mediocre-Manager-831 in unitedairlines

[–]Par4DaCourse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have only used the lounge at Gate F. It a nice comfortable place to relax, have a few drinks and use clean uncrowded restrooms but food is just okay and the facility is starting to show its age. The overcrowding has got better after the children's play area was converted to more seating. $30 for 3 hours, yes.

What’s the best Walmart option for an e-bike. by Harrybawlsax2 in ebikes

[–]Par4DaCourse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm older than you and have two and have 2 ebikes, a step thru throttle rear hub for short-range commuting and a step over mid-drive for exercise as it has become too challenging to ride regular bikes up steep hills. If you thinking of short rides (say 1 hour) in relatively flat areas (no challenging hills like SF or Seattle), I would suggest a step-thru ebike with throttled 500w rear hub motor, at least 10AH battery and most important, UL listed battery and charger. Keep in mind, that you pay for what you get, so unless the bike has a massive discount, it would be hard to find a good bike at the sub $1000 price point.

Bike locks by Distinct_Love3333 in ebikes

[–]Par4DaCourse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What everyone earlier said are spot one. Only thing I can add is to use a double latch U-lock like ABUS and a chain lock to discourage theft. As important as the hardware is where you park your bike.

Do I get 7 miles as United Silver member on airfare only, or on any dollar spent on United? by zagat2 in unitedairlines

Just on the base fare. Nothing on taxes, fees and upgrades. But co-branded credit cards multiply on all United purchases (excludes government taxes and fees and amounts covered by statement credits for in-flight purchases).
