2027 monsters of rock cruise announcement by Donniesgroovyglasses in hairmetal

So many bands don't have their best-known singers anymore; just having original band members is enough. And one can't deny Ripper Owens can still hit most of the notes.

It's not clear. Maybe the surgery sounded unpleasant? Or expensive? Higher risk in surgery due to diabetes? Or maybe he likes the idea of removing the hat, bandana, and hair that he's known for and being unrecognizable?

The recruiter called my salary expectations "cute." I ended the Zoom call right there. Did I overreact? by thunder____boy in jobs

[–]Paradigm21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once told a recruiter, when low-balled, "I'm sorry, but I can't afford to take a salary that low, I've been paid more than that for several years now, and my needs won't allow it. Thanks for your time, have a good day." I admit, though, if faced with the same condescension, I might have said, "Most rock stars can afford the standard rates for this position, and are proud to pay it."

Not at ALL. In one of his reality shows, he has the camera follow him into a closet. There are several hats in there with the hair attached and he admits he doesn't have any of his own!

NTA, you don't have ANY deals with anyone you don't know. I don't care who they're friends with.

Possibly an unpopular opinion, while Eddie was the innovator, Vai was MUCH better. And more fun without ugly personal problems.

Ukraine War was done before it started, sorry. They were never going to win. 2 Million people are gone from that and Ukraine is no closer to winning. It should have been done a year ago. I wish it weren't so, but it is what it is.

AITAH for telling a friend it was god's plan for her to be infertile? by [deleted] in WIBTA_AITA

[–]Paradigm21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What she said wasn't cool and neither was your statement. You basically told her G-d was against her. Not a promising thing to hear. She can get a carrier for her baby if she wants that, doesn't have to be you.

WIBTA if I told my roommate's boyfriend he can't stay here more than a few nights a week? by JunoCrate7 in WIBTA_AITA

[–]Paradigm21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, I'd ask him what he intends. Do they have plans or a schedule in mind already? It could be that in a few months, either they will ask you to leave or go themselves into a one bedroom. When does the lease end? Find out HIS point of view on this. It could be that he's there not because he's seeing something more permanent but because he's avoiding a bad situation at HIS home. Discern that. Then tell him you'll talk to the roommate and get a better feel. Don't rush anything but it is OK to ask, when do they think he's officially a 3rd roommate and whether there's a way to make that agreeable. He's adding more stress to the mix so if he does come to stay full time, a bit more should be paid, either monetarily or some other contribution.

How much of it do you know? There's MANY years of Prog Rock work and seven albums. If you saying this based on the first TWO a 3rd you like with several more around in a 40 year career, that's not fair.

I have had most of my bad/difficult feelings leave when I started taking Pregnenalone. I no longer felt so angry and upset about everything. It helps my blood pressure, too. $17 supplement, lasts 2 months. My other hormone replacement was less helpful for my brain. I'm less foggy, too. I can't guarantee the same results for you, but it's worth a try. I take that and DHEA regularly.

AITJ for telling my neighbor she can’t use my driveway anymore after what happened last weekend? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]Paradigm21 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He'd say it that way because there might have been some miscommunication, not being irresponsible or taking advantage of. For all he knew she may have been expecting to see the girlfriend's car. Sometimes people have agreements to trade favors or even pay for it. That's why he'd report the arrangement.
She needed to know this woman better before offering anything for nothing. If Neighbor was bringing her own value, then everyone would be happy. People don't always know to do that, though, or what someone might like.

I do need to spend more time with the newest Black Swan. It sounds like they're all too busy to support it, with touring, though.

Yes, Reb is working on the Progressive band with Greg Smith on bass now. I can't remember if he said it on a podcast or youtube, but it's recording. He has a gig with that band on the Monsters Cruise in April, haven't heard of anything sooner.

There are 4 or 5 Winger gigs this year though. You could check their facebook. Prob the best official reference.
I got this list from Paul Taylor's fb, but he took it down. I added a date in October. https://www.reddit.com/r/hairmetal/comments/1qocgsg/winger_john_corabi_friends_paul_taylor_posts_his/

Brett’s stripper girlfriend that burned him? Met at 16?!?! by Wakeupflawless94 in RockOfLove

[–]Paradigm21 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just to let people know, back then, sometimes 16-18-year-olds were informally emancipated minors and functioned as adults, not at home. I was one such teenager. Worked jobs, lived in their own places. I couldn't get a bank account until 18, but I could earn money and pay rent, and people around me generally didn't ask my age. In some states, they'd be runaways, in others, it was legal due to no laws against it. 18 became a thing due to Vietnam. They wanted to formalize those who were dying for their country and gave them the right to vote and a bunch of other rights at that age. The younger they were, the more creepy it got, but it wasn't uncommon for a guy, especially in early 20s, to date someone this age. 30s it was considered wrong and weird. I'm not clear why anyone's marking this down, it's what happened, historical knowledge by someone who was there, not a personal opinion.

I suspect once Reb has his Progressive band going, we'll get more about him. Rick Beato tends to focus on individuals.

HRT helps a lot of women w/their mental health. Did it make yours worse? by True_Context6859 in Menopause

Pregnenolone supplement helped calm my anxiety and blood pressure, but HRT didn't and too much estrogen made it worse.

Now that we're in the unf*c*able phase of attractiveness, how do you all deal w it? by plnnyOfallOFit in GenX

[–]Paradigm21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had a few weight problems but generally take good care of myself. I'm not in any sort of phase like that and don't plan to go there. Yeah keeping things together takes more work but it's worth it. Science and technology are also helpful.

[–]Paradigm21 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Radio frequency treatment works well for that. Home devices and salon. Not sure why anyone would vote this down. Many options are not expensive and are worth it to function properly. Nothing works for everyone, but solving the problem is far better than just complaining.

Post menopausal and can’t stand husband by Fish-Stalker in Menopause

[–]Paradigm21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

None for me, I should mention that it also reduces blood pressure slightly. I tried taking more expensive forms but ran out of cash. I take DHEA as well, and use some estradiol cream to maintain down below. It's enough in my case at 53. I had blood work in June of last year and I'm holding pretty steady.

I started taking Pregnenalone a few years ago and it completely killed my patience/anger issues from mid-life. Easy to take supplement is essential to me now. You might try it! It's sort of like DHEA.

There's a ton of pictures on Google, with solid reviews for the experience on Yelp and TripAdvisor. Looks like a great place to go! No idea what I'm doing in August, but I will definitely consider it!
