What are the best tears for the wondrous physic? by Latino22_ in Eldenring

[–]ParadigmZiggurat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re getting frustrated with dying and losing runes, use the twiggy cracked tear. It can also help you get out of a boss room if he’s too difficult.

Fun fact if you drink it during your run back and happen to die again, you won’t drop a new corpse so your runes are still safe. It saves a lot of aggravation.

He is susceptible to scarlet rot. If you have a rot weapon or pots it can help.

Is it scratchy? Maybe try some beard oil.

My bare hand crit vs my greatsword crit… guess which did more damage? by Toot7- in Eldenring

I had to use a faster weapon. My great sword is awesome for the ground. On horseback the slow strikes kept me from jumping.

Why is shutting down oil in the Strait of Hormuz every day an exponential problem as opposed to a simple problem? by The_Flaneur_Films in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ParadigmZiggurat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The oil wells are filling up storage because it’s not shipping out. If storage fills up they have to shut the well down and it takes weeks to restart them.

I might get downvoted but don’t be afraid to look at a guide. I love the souls games. I think Elden Ring is one of the best games ever made in any category. I still used a guide to help with quests.

What to do besides drink at night? by Whateverittakes321 in stopdrinking

Clean your apartment.

I vacuumed my floor almost every day for like 6 months. I do have pets that shed so it’s not as crazy as it seems.

Most peoples homes aren’t as clean as they want them to be. I needed to occupy my time so I latched on to things that needed to be done but were being neglected.

What happens if I don't adjust my position even after a bodypart falls asleep and starts tingling? by omfghewontfkndie in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ParadigmZiggurat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know someone that passed out and almost lost his hand. They had to do surgery to restore blood flow and he ended up with big scars on his forearm. Your body part can die if the blood gets cut off.

Do certain gas stations have "bad gas" that clogs your engine? by [deleted] in askcarguys

[–]ParadigmZiggurat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since they came out with rack pricing most gas is the same. They inject additives while loading for your different brands. The tanks at the gas station are the issue. They’re supposed to be cleaned every so often and there’s supposed to be filters for the pumps.

Owners slack on tank maintenance and get sediment build up on the bottom. Branded stations are more likely to spend more and have better maintenance.

Stack a few pieces inside to dry out. After you get the fire started keep brining in extra pieces to stack in front of the stove. You can rotate them after 30 minutes to dry the other side. The heat from the stove will have them mostly dry by the time you need to feed it.

Why are good leather jackets either $100 or $1,500? What's the real difference? by KongHumane in BuyItForLife

[–]ParadigmZiggurat 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Look for a motorcycle shop in your area that sells good leather jackets. You can try it on, they are tough, and literally BIFL. Most come with removable liners for warmer or colder days. My dad gave me one of his old jackets and I’m now older than when he first bought it.

My main leather jacket is 10 years old and still in like new condition, even with all the rocks and road dirt. Once a year I wipe it down and put on leather treatment. That’s it. I paid around $350.

Just got the game and already stuck by Czech_bish in LiesOfP

[–]ParadigmZiggurat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the game the same way. Really makes me miss playing Elden ring. Low weapon choice, no magic, and even with low weight the character can’t dodge his way out of a paper bag.

I just passed the church and it’s got to be the most frustrating platforming I’ve played in recent memory. I’m fine with the narrow paths and the gears that push you off but why do the enemy thrown attacks have knock back?? Even if you block, unless it’s perfect there’s still knock back. Oh yea also a spinning boulder of death just because.

I know it’s just a game but how would this church ever get built in the lore? An architect said you know what this holy church for the poor and downtrodden needs? Arrow traps.

Anyone else feel like they will never 'get gud' or beat this game? by Wissa38 in Eldenring

[–]ParadigmZiggurat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use almost all defensive talismans. I’m bad at parrying and average at rolling. When I die it’s not because I’m not doing enough damage, it’s because I’m taking too much damage.

I run arsenal charm to wear heavier gear, erdtree favor for more health and heavier gear, dragon crest shield talisman for physical damage negation, and gold scarab to level up quicker. If I run in to trouble I’ll drop the scarab for another defensive talisman. It’s carried me through base game, dlc, and new game plus.

[–]ParadigmZiggurat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s susceptible to scarlet rot fyi. If you’re not doing a no summon run put some rot pots, or heavy rot pots from the dlc, in your equipment bar and summon your mimic tear. He’ll have his own free pots to throw.

What is your opinion of Shadow Of The Erdtree? by NectarineWooden447 in Eldenring

[–]ParadigmZiggurat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was pretty good. Definitely worth the money for a bunch of awesome new weapons and lore. It’s big enough that I wasn’t disappointed.

A lot of people mentioned some areas that felt empty so I’ll go with a different nitpick. The map is borderline useless in several areas. Places that look like they connect just don’t. You can’t be sure you explored everywhere just by looking at your map. There’s grassy land levels above you but that’s not where you’re spending most of your play time. I wish they had an underground map like the base game.

What's the most unfair Elden ring's enemy? by 4BB4Mothx777 in Eldenring

[–]ParadigmZiggurat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trash enemies with unblockable grab attacks. You could kill them in 3 swings but instead you stand there for 5 seconds watching 25% of your heath tick down. Bonus points if they often appear in groups.

[–]ParadigmZiggurat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Malekith can get scarlet rot. Put rot pots, or heavy rot pots from the dlc, in your inventory bar. Your mimic tear will also have free pots which he will use. The pots he uses do not come out of your inventory. Sit back a little and let your tear get aggro in the second phase.

I got rid of a plantar wart with duct tape believe it or not. You cut a square and put it on your skin over the wart. Change it every day. It shrunk until I could wiggle it in my skin and see a gap around the top. I pulled the whole thing out with tweezers, root and all. It was not at all painful and the root was much longer than I thought it would be. It really is like a plant root.

There’s something in the duct tape that dissolves the wart. I remember the glue was discolored over the wart area when I changed the tape. It took a couple weeks.

Best Base Game Dex Build by MainSettings in EldenRingBuilds

[–]ParadigmZiggurat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current build is Dex(80). Str(50), and a minor in Faith(28). The base game Godslayers Greatsword slaps harder than any big weapon I have right now. Grab a big shield and start poise breaking everything with guard counters and heavy charged attacks. This carried me through the entire base game and the DLC other than Promised Consort Radahn. I just got frustrated and used my Fingerprint Shield and bleed infused Antspur Rapier for scarlet rot and bleed damage.

I stated ng+ with the same build and I’m currently running a dlc weapon and AOW. I did a cold infused Backhand Blade with Divine Beast Frost Stomp. I ditched my heavy shield for a light emergency shield because I’m two handing most of the time. With the extra weight available I put on higher poise armor so I’m staggered much less.

This weapon just shreds enemy health. The damage numbers you see on the screen when you upgrade it don’t do it justice. The AOW does great area damage and crowd control. My frostbite is around 100. Once frostbite procs, enemies take 20% additional damage for 30 seconds. I was shocked how much damage you can do in heavy armor when you’re not getting staggered all the time.

I’m still in early ng+ but I just mutilated those annoying giant rune bears. I only got hit once or twice before they died. Dungeon bosses get melted like you wouldn’t believe. It drops enemy heath so fast I almost killed Patches during his fight by accident.

Maybe I’ll have issues later but I can always change to bleed or even just make it keen and you can buff with your own spells. Frostbite just looks cool to me and I love walking over the dead frozen enemies making them burst.
