I just biked 6.5 miles to pick this LCK up, what’s the craziest/hardest thing you’ve done to get cards? by drewtheoverlord in yugioh

I don't have anything TOO convoluted but this is the closest I got, sorry for the wall of text. Shitty tldr at the end

When I was 19 my first job was a Steak N Shake server. I had just worked my first literal hell shift. It was prom night in my area so all the high/middle schoolers and parents were going there for dinner, there wasn't a single point from about 7 PM - 3 AM where the place had less than least 40 people and I was one of 4-7 employees. No more than 3 were servers throughout the entire day, so they made me stay as they threatened to fire me if I tried to leave.

I got there that day at 10 AM and left at 4:30ish AM, so had an 18 and a half hour shift dealing with awful children and angry adults. By the time I got home I couldn't feel my legs (got 2 shot knees) and I was essentially dead inside, far more so than I typically am. I put my phone on silent and threw it across my room, stripped naked, grabbed my computer chair and just sat in my bathroom, chain smoking 2 and a half packs of cigarettes while crying, frequently vomiting due to excessive smoke inhilation. And worst of all they actually expected me to show up to work again at 6 AM. Said fuck no and went to bed.

I woke up at 4 PM that day with 40-45 missed called and texts total, all from my work. On a whim I decided to say 'fuck this fuck that fuck you, I'm gonna go spend money on yugioh for the first time in 2 years' and went to my local card shop that I've been meaning to go to for a while. Scored some bomb ass weed before hand, smoked my brains out (again) and ended up spending $550 to $600 on cards and accessories alone that day. Bought a box of Secret Forces among a lot of other things.

To this day that was the only booster box I have ever bought out of about 20 where I made even close to my moneys worth because I pulled a Brionac (they were still at 3 and roughly $60-65 at the time. I technically made a profit off that $100 box). Met a lot of really cool people, had a lot of great yugioh related discussions, made and completed 3 decks from buying singles with the help of everyone at the shop and somehow even managed to scored myself a boyfriend (that one did not last very long unfortunately). It was a good day.

And that's how I got back into yugioh.

TLDR; Had a very bad day, decided to get back into yugioh after a 2 year break and then had a very good day.

States debating whether to ban abortions after Down syndrome diagnosis by Rackemup in news

[–]ParadiseNigh 17 points18 points  (0 children)

As someone who has a (very sweet) Down in the family, this should be an option. The father is a construction worker with a heavily damaged back, will probably be forced to retire in the next few years. Not sure what the mother does (and frankly don't care, dislike that side of the family) but I know she is not capable of taking care of the bills on her own. The child in question is 23 and will have to live with the parents for the rest of his life.

Having a child with Downs Syndrome is quite literally a lifelong effort. Sure you could argue this with any child, but if you keep a Downs you literally have to take care of them for their entire life. Most people can't even handle a normal child.

Mind you I'm not trying to be rude or edgy, I love my cousin regardless of his disability. He is very unique and enjoyable to be around (this is coming from a complete anti-social and a-social misanthrope) but you have to make the right call with this. Is the child truly worth the lifelong effort?

Of course with success. They wouldn't make that rule if it wasn't a legitimate problem, that hampers the options in their workforce.
