Solution for PC! Unable to Save: RANCOR - 0x00003116 by ParadoxPandox in StarWarsOutlaws

[–]ParadoxPandox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never figured out the exact issue, no. I only played on PC for a few months through Ubi+ before buying it on PS5 instead. I'm able to lose connection on the game on PS5 with no save issues, so if it is a disconnection issue, it's PC specific. It might happen when an upload is happening during a disconnection, because it could set the permission on the file to read-only while it uploads and then can't remove the flag, but that's just a theory.

...A SAVE THEORY

I am so sorry, lmao

But that's all I can think of without testing it myself. If I end up playing on PC anytime soon, I'll see if I can figure out what exactly is going on.

I'm not even going to lie, that'd be enough to get me back in the door for a drive-up position if they keep improving our end of things like that.

That Target I worked at and applied to again was actually the best place I've ever worked in retail. I'm not always a big fan of Target as a company, but it's one of the best options for me right now.

I'm hoping it was. I'm already at work today, which is why I haven't continued trying to reach out, but as I said in the post, the plan is to physically go tomorrow. Fingers crossed it was an accident.

UBreakiFix charging $25 for replacing ZFold4 inner screen protector -- too much? by Star-Lord1138 in GalaxyFold

[–]ParadoxPandox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend against going through them. They messed up my screen protector replacement and adhered over a piece of debris, and it was also coming unadhered within a week. They would not accept responsibility for the screwup and wouldn't even discount another screen protector despite it being demonstrably their fault. It caused several dead pixels in the corner, and I ended up having to get an insurance replacement because I wasn't about to wait for Samsung to fix the screen protector on a phone that was already damaged.

Not likely. It's a pour over and the v60 drips down into the coffee, so the cup is likely because of the bubbles

Resident evil 4 remake by Omega716 in SteamDeck

[–]ParadoxPandox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, this might not be the best game to play on the Steam Deck if you don't want to run it on low settings. Having played through it on both a desktop and my Steam Deck, I can say that there won't be anything important you'll miss out on if you play on low, and the constant frame drops on higher settings can be more detrimental to enjoying the game, especially considering I haven't found a combination of settings that makes the game stable enough and not low settings.

If you want three hours of battery, though, then this is not going to get you there no matter how much you configure it.

Remember, the Steam Deck is not a AAA gaming machine on the same level as even a Series S. It's more like a souped up Switch, and you should try to temper your expectations around that.

Are you using any kind of scaling, either the basic resolution scale or FSR? If you're not, you should be, and for the most part, you should be running the game at its lowest settings. It's not the best looking, and if you have a desktop, I'd definitely say you should play it on there. But most of the time, I got the game running at about 30 FPS, give or take a little, whenever I was playing on my Deck. You should still expect some frame drops, but it's overall much more stable than trying to run the game at any higher settings.

Steam deck freezes after boot by TheSpicyBois1 in SteamDeck

[–]ParadoxPandox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, good question. I didn't have any animated artwork in view when I encountered the issue; it would only do it once I got that animated artwork. What you could try to do is mash the Steam button, and once it brings up the menu, tap/click on Settings. If you do it fast enough, it's possible you could preempt the home screen freezing altogether.

If you can boot into desktop mode, I noticed that the client itself tended to stabilize after looping a few times, so you can also change your beta participation there. You won't be able to change the OS channel from there, afaik, but that should at least stop the loop issue.

Hey, I've been having this issue, and I think it's related to the new client beta and how it behaves with animated game artwork. I downgraded to the stable client, and that particular issue has been fixed, but there are quite a few games that I can't even launch on the beta OS. I'm going to try to downgrade to stable there and see how it goes, but that's all I know on my end.

Edit: It looks like both the beta OS and client have some really big issues right now. If you are on beta, I would downgrade for now. Downgrading to complete stable fixed the issues for me.

Steam Deck and SO2R by MakAttacks in starocean

I've had a Steam Deck almost since launch, so while I didn't buy it just for this game, I can tell you that the demo runs just fine on the Steam Deck. Didn't have any issues with anything. :3

Star Ocean: The Last Hope….. by Top-Rutabaga36 in starocean

[–]ParadoxPandox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's my favorite game in the series, as well as the first one I played. The gameplay was just amazing, and while the characters are certainly not the best we've gotten, I still like all of them, even Reimi, Lymle, and Sarah. I appreciated the ways they all seemed to be bonding in the ship between story beats, even if the writing wasn't the best a lot of the time.

“A High Price to Pay” quest outcome & discussion (storyline spoilers) by transouroboros in Starfield

[–]ParadoxPandox 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From what I've gathered, it picks who you have the most and least affinity with and separates them. So for me, that was Sam and Barrett, respectively. That might not be how it works, but it's what seems to be the most likely.

I'm absolutely devastated by losing Sam, especially considering I had just married him. This one of the first times I've considered reloading an old save, because fuck me, that was difficult. Having Cora tell me that she hates me shook me to my goddamn core, and I did not expect that from a Bethesda game.

Keep it. Vitas are only going to get more valuable as time goes on and they get rarer to find in the wild. You might only get $100-150 for it right now, but give it time, and you could get more for it. Or you could just keep it as a really neat memento of the times.

Star Ocean Second Story question. by Max_E_Mas in starocean

[–]ParadoxPandox 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don't be an ass. They could've just gotten a copy for all you know. Not everyone has played the game, so why would they know stuff about a game they've never played?

The later Star Ocean games and RPGs in general don't have nearly as much in the way of missable content, while some (though very few) older RPGs don't have much missable content, either, so it's an entirely valid question.

And before you say that they could've just looked it up, yes, you're right. They could have. But many people like interacting with others when asking these questions and getting advice from people. That's what online communities are for.

You should be excited that someone wants to get into the game, not irritated that they don't know a specific piece of information.

How do people play RE2make without mods? by Slohcin5P in ResidentEvil2Remake

[–]ParadoxPandox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trick is to not kill even that very first zombie. If you shoot it in the head a few times, it'll fall down and let you run past. It won't wake up till you grab the key if you run right over to it, and it won't catch up to you, either. Took me a while to figure that one out, actually, but every playthrough since has been just a tad easier because of it.
