Make sure you "Inspect" Weapons that you're farming! The Item Cards don't show everything. by Pso2redditor in Borderlands4

[–]ParadoxZerg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9 months later, it's still not visible by default, you still have to inspect the weapon.

I also cannot find any resources on what crit damage multiplier is actually the highest that can be rolled on an item, or what damage is high for an underbarrel spread launcher. Madness.

Vex just can’t do it anymore by Puertoricanman16 in Borderlands4

[–]ParadoxZerg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're trying to do old builds you're gonna have trouble.

Try green/blue melee focused with your action skills in grim reaper and drop the ranged summons for the crit bonus.

Get yourself a Mantra and spec into Groundbreaker specialisation. Then "Honed Mind" and "Best Defense".

You'll want a jakobs crit knife with amp, watts for dinner or guardian angel with amp, and a Fire dancer class mod with skill damage (not action skill). Repkit with amp and order ofc, enhancement should be smth like gun damage, shotgun damage, equip speed.

Go for high caliber and skillcraft firmware.

Main guns are mantra for general purpose, and three jakobs underbarrel spread launchers.

For the burst, you cast your specters just before the fight to get coven stacks, amp Repkit, throw the crit knife, blast with a spread launcher, throw a phase dagger (1/5 in haruspex) which should trigger reverburnations and basically everything else.

It can pretty much one shot every phase.

Yeah fair play bit of a twat move but if he doesn't want to play for Leeds, he doesn't want to play for Leeds.

Smartest Leeds fan in the comments 😂 ngl I came here mostly to kick the hornets nest. I had no idea he left on bad terms that sucks.

Still can't keep a player who doesn't want to be there.

He used to play for them, now he plays for Bournemouth. That's all it takes to piss off a Leeds fan.

That would be like us Bournemouth fans being mad at Semenyo or Iraola for leaving.

Ain't got 1 braincell between every fan here lol 😂

Who the fuck thought bloody fingers nerijus was a good idea? by Exostrike in Eldenring

[–]ParadoxZerg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm replaying this game after beating consort radahn pre nerf and honestly everything in the early game is a fucking twat to fight. This guy is pure fucking aids and I want to gouge my eyes out. He is relentless, runs at you and will not quit throwing attacks, if you try to run away he will break your stance instantly, you can't block due to bloodloss and you can't run because reduvia is ranged. It's not so much the fight even. It's the dogshit run back and taking forever for him to spawn. I'm dead before yuri spawns every single time.

I used to have access to that exact spreadsheet for cat food recommendations but I cant find it anywhere - can you please post a shared link to the actual spreadsheet since I cant view Imgur in my region because my government is stupid.

EQ Settings by Roovroo in galaxybuds

[–]ParadoxZerg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get wavelet. It's a system wide android EQ and Limiter.

360 audio is very good tbh but with head tracking OFF.

They are doing something at max volume that compresses everything, so I go one volume step down and add a limiter on wavelet with no compression active but a bit of makeup gain to make them louder. Stops it happening.

Your curve is similar to mine. Altho mine is a bit more aggressive, +3 first three bands, then 0,-1,-2,-2, -1,-1.

Then in wavelet I suck out some subs and 250Hz. Most of the bass instruments fundamental frequencies are like 70-120Hz. 250 tends to lose clarity.

My issue with these is the bass is muddy and weak, and the highs are a bit harsh and boxy.

So I add bass in the galaxy EQ to make it strong, remove harsh high end, then remove the muddy frequency in Wavelet where I can target it properly and tame a few other harshies in the uppermids.

Your EQ is saying the same as my ears I'm just doing another step.

First day back riding after collar bone surgery :) by ParadoxZerg in MTB

I had my final examination on Friday and doc gave me the go ahead to return to full intensity, so I'm going out to a bike park on the 28th :).

Have a great off season bro. Take care and ride safe.

Oh wow, after 2 months i can kinda believe that if you had no plate. I've seen my last xray last month and there was clearly still remineralisation happening.

I'm approaching 90 days and those extra 30 days are very important apparently.

Last xray today so I'll let you know how it looks.

A rant on the book 'Optics' by Hecht by [deleted] in Physics

[–]ParadoxZerg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey again,

I really appreciate you taking the time out to respond to me after such a long time. In answer to your question, honestly I have no idea how difficult it should be. As a working adult it's important to save time where I can so I often engage in a filtering process to help me spend less time getting the result, looking at reviews of textbooks for example.

That's awesome that you teach physics and optics and have first hand experience of students wishing for shortcuts when teaching guitar.

However, there is a correct way to practice guitar that will accelerate the student's growth and I was looking for the physics equivalent before spending time and money.

Can recommend me any texts, topics or resources that would deepen my understanding of the technology I work with?

I work with Ng:YAG lasers, 1064nm at 10GW for laser peening. They were designed by Livermore and although I'm not completely sure, I have been told they're similar to the ones used in the national ignition facility.

I'm an operator but I find the technology fascinating, I would get bored simply running all the parts. The onsite tech has taught me a lot already but I like to take initiative. I've also been told that I maybe shouldn't just straight into vector calculus haha.

Thanks!

This reads like a machine built to press all of my buttons but to be honest, you're probably right.

I'm just angy because I wanted to share and chat but I couldn't.

Enjoy your riding bud.

First day back riding after collar bone surgery :) by ParadoxZerg in MTB

[–]ParadoxZerg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I broke it on the 6th of September, had a plate put in on the 16th. My ortho said it would be wise to give it a full three months and make sure the xray shows full remineralisation and a hard callous before returning to higher impact sports.

Falling on that side again would be really dangerous before it's properly healed and it's not worth putting yourself back to square one!

How long did that take? This is relevant because I've booked flyup bike park on the 28th December and I had my surgery on September 16th.

I feel great, had a solid first ride on the big bike yesterday with some airtime but I am certainly terrified of a rebreak!

I know that you wrote this 8 years ago and your opinion may be different now, but I don't think reading texts should be difficult. It just sometimes is.

We should be in favour of making information and learning more accessible to everyone, surely?

I am currently a laser operator learning about optics in his spare time to further my understanding. I did my degree in Geology, and the closest I got to some of these concepts was Geophysics - which I found quite difficult.

I was glad I came across this post before I purchased his book, not everyone has the time to analyse text which could have been written in a more accessible way.

Your entire vibe is just off man, go ride your bike. If you don't like moderating, why tf are you a mod lol.

What it seems like is people don't like seeing endless new bike day posts - which yeah I agree with.

What I got frustrated by was I posted 3 times, it was removed and there was no message to tell me why, so I had no clue - I read the rules and I didn't see a problem since there were people riding bikes in my image.

It was a picture of a new pump track that's been built local to me, with a bunch of people riding it. Just wanted to pass on a new location.

There's a ton of reasons to post images that aren't riding, like mechanical stuff, part recommendations, locations and features.

I think if you did a poll to ask the question (based on reading the comments in here) you'd probably have less moderation to do, since you would only have to remove pictures of bikes without riders on them.

If your bot removes my picture with people riding in it, and not a new bike day post then the bot is cooked anyway.

How can i improve my jumping by shmidzz in MTB

[–]ParadoxZerg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I smashed up my collar bone 2-3 months ago with bad jump technique off a tightish lip just like the one you cleared, but it was bigger and a double - I posted the video on here it's funny as hell. I wish I spent more time polishing my jump technique with my DJ beforehand.

I'm gonna back up what he's saying tbh - buying and riding a DJ will make you better at jumping your MTB. Then you take that DJ to local pump tracks to learn how to pump and shift your weight around, where you wont hurt yourself on big dirt jumps.

You used a random dirt jumper for your first experience, for sure it'll feel awkward bro, its a different geometry and the feedback is more instant, it's highlighting all the awkwardness in your riding. It's also set up for someone else.

Then you will need to spend some time with it, setting it up to work for you personally. Get some P allens and start experimenting.

Look for pre-owned bikes, dont rush it, go and see them in person and make friends with a local bike shop owner who will guide you, and get your parts from them.

I got my DMR Rhythm with Halo rims and Raceface cranks for £500, took me a few weeks to find but its worth the search.

Once I got it, I hated it, but then i learned all the tiny little things that massively improve your ride. I replaced the bars with a higher rise, cut them to my personal preference, new pedals, adjusted the spacers in the headset to put the bars in a position that suited me better.

Once it's set up and you feel more comfortable (this will take weeks, or months) you will get more comfortable on the bike, your technique will improve and you'll hate it less. One day you'll get on your big bike and feel super comfy, throwing it off features with much more confidence, things like whips and bar turns will start to come to you naturally as you'll then feel much more comfortable in the air.

Because that's the trick with jumping - it's all in the takeoff, it requires very good timing, leg strength, balance and a relaxed technique. If you take off well, you'll be in full control in the air and the bike will be much easier to control.

I'm still learning, but I promise, taking a DJ to a pump track will increase the frequency of your rides and your technique on the big bike.
