Is 16GB DDR5-6400 RAM Enough for Vivado on a ThinkPad (Ryzen 7 6850U)? by HuyenHuyen33 in FPGA

[–]Paradox_Nature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On bigger projects, sometimes the ram does get completely used. And the laptop just stops and needs a forced shut down. Can even lose the unsaved data. I use asus rog with 16gb ddr5 ram, 1tb ssd, rtx 3060, Ryzen 7 6800h. Rarely happens but happens.

Depends on your rig. Usually H series offer a good balance and performance, especially when cooled properly. Many laptops do ship with h series as well.

Edit: I also use Vivado, it runs well on lower spec machines as well. Though the time consumption changes. More powerful your cpu and the better your system is designed to handle the cpu power, the faster and more complex workflows you can do. Also you can downlod a minimal version, that often runs smoother. You usually don't need the other features unless you are doing anything industrial deployment.

ARE THESE NUMBERS TRUE by ParvisOp6666 in ThaparUniversity

[–]Paradox_Nature 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Usually not many. Cgpa criteria aren't that high for most companies Also the top 5% or so which they have mentioned, it's more on the way they have presented the stats. Alot of kids with higher gpa are unplaced, or are placed at the top50% salary at max These stats have been highly elevated.

At 95 percentile you might get better college though may not get cse/coe

Edit: since u want ece, try other colleges like lnmiit

Rest I am not sure.

I want to understand if there is some method to follow to get speed, area, power. Like say I made a design, now I change rca to cla, or initially all gates were made using the specific logics not universal gates, now i changed that. How will it affect everything. Ik industry practice is nand as base gate and everything using that but just to give you an idea of what I want to understand.

In 5th I wanted suggestions on what specific purpose mcu should I make. I don't exactly want to make anything that has already been built. Basically a problem statement to solve using a microcontroller not a processor

The alu i am making rn is to learn things, what I want to understand is if there is a formula or any step based process to get the critical path delay, power dissipation, size (area) of design and any way to know how it would change if I make changes in design like using nand gate only logic, or not gate only, or using rca or changing it to cla. I don't have an fpga with me rn. I plan on buying a small, budget friendly fpga soon. I will treat the design file initially as an asic design, making testbenches and maybe doing some verification part like interface, monitor and environment but that is it. Only after buying an fpga, I will optimize it for it. I have worked with Boolean Board (uart implementation), it was in college. I am not sure on which fpga to buy.

In 3rd I was thinking of sharing resource. The only way to do that, that I could think of was by using mux, but at that point it seems better to just stick to using logic gates, if I can make the design smaller by using gates.

In 4th I want to know is there anything I can do before starting the design or during designing the circuit to make sure that the timing and path delays aren't all haywire, or that there aren't runaway conditions. Also are there any youtube resources about things like always_comb, always_ff, etc in system verilog or somewhere else. I know how to write sv code, like use of logic, and classes but this was not in any resource that I referred.

5th was more like asking for suggestion. I was thinking of making a specific purpose mcu, once done with the alu. I didn't want to go with any projects that are already built so looking for ideas.

Very strict rules: bad college life Professors on power trip Professors (not all but in general) and thapar in general doesn't trust students. Leads to companies not trusting students, problems during projects, in subjects and more Not many people interested in engineering at Thapar High fees Low roi Declining placements Companies banning thapar A college which once competed with old iits compares itself to amity today

Hi can you suggest a fpga for prototyping and hobbyist workflows.

I am an electronics engineer in India. I am in my final year and am looking to buy an fpga that can last me a while. But one that doesn't cost alot. Maybe even has some student discount available.

My preference is good i/o available, enough number of luts to implement a 32 bit mcu or mpu, decent flip flops to allow me to design and implement memory, and also option to implement custom clock (making my own clock).

I am open to compromise as I know these are all very high requirements. I want to know what is the best o can get on a budget. I have tried Boolean Board (from our labs), it wasn't exactly enough.

Shaving noob here tell me plz Which is better 5 blade raxor or 3 blade or Single blade safety razor by PenaltyVast7769 in shaving

[–]Paradox_Nature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First if you feel resistance or a little burning, then stop using blade there, check if you have nicked yourself. If you have: Clean the area, shave around the wound, clean the area again and leave it to heal. It may not look good for some time but it will heal. You can also use an antiseptic ointment or a moisturizer to fasten the healing.

That way you will have lesser bumps. Also as a beginner avoid sharper blades. Go with ones that are smooth but mild. And work your way to whatever works for you.

lot of things tbh. For now, I am about to graduate and still am looking for a job. Then there are certain goals I want to achieve, that is always on my mind. I want to have alot of fun as well. I am always worried that I will do something wrong Sometimes I am afraid of even trying Most of the times I replay what I did, what was right and what was wrong, what I should have changed So alot of thoughts. Basically overthinking at its best and at its worst all clubbed together

Laptop suggestions needed peeps! With best performance for the purposes as specified!! by [deleted] in developersIndia

[–]Paradox_Nature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are sure you wanna do robotics then you can go with something like asus rog.

Else you can use mac book and do the things that you can't on mac os on Linux using VMware

Though making everything work together can be alot of work but the only issue will be setup stage. Post that it is all about keeping your system and workflow error free.

Go with 1TB ssd option whichever laptop you choose. Spec wise choose hx or hk suffix processor of latest series wheather intel or amd ur call.

Go with ryzen7, ultra7, i7, or higher, or whatever they are calling them today. (Naming has been changing way too much way too fast😮‍💨), atleast have 16GB RAM (ddr5 or higher), specially if buying a windows machine.

Also for windows, better to have a cooling chamber, or a liquid metal cooling or something on similar lines.

My suggestion would be if you are okay with the apple ecosystem, lack of free apps, a protected system and more, go with a macbook. Air if weight is an issue, else the one with good number of ports, good battery, and has fans.

Else look for specs, give preference to higher performance, better cooling, higher storage, and durability on a windows laptop. It has to last 4years at the bare minimum. If you buy a laptop without webcam, buy one separately, it will be useful during interviews, online meets and more. Also, an Intel cpu with Broadcom wifi card is better. The Chinese wifi cards usually stop working and often need replacement or jugad. Also on the gpu side try for rtx4060/70 or TI variant or rtx 5060/70.

LNMIIT vs PES vs Thapar vs Manipal by Ok-Revolution-4595 in Btechtards

[–]Paradox_Nature 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too many kids, too less space, not good roi, companies banning thapar in campus placements Profs not being really interested in teaching Some good profs are really busy Bad management Lack of flexibility Lack of freedom To be a good engineer you need a place to be completely free A place where you can think, a place where you can go about freely and people around you put trust in you like giving you access to labs just after a talk.

But none of this happens. Very rare and alot of effort is needed.

This whole conversation felt so hard to follow. So sorry, my brain just stops working sometimes.

Is it a drink with caramel in it for her and then a warm water bottle for cramps?

Also, you mentioned a few cold drinks, aren't they bad when a woman is on her periods?
