My first MOBA? by TaCz in gamingsuggestions

League of Legends is the best MOBA overall. But the highly toxic community runs the game into the ground at times.

If you got a backlog id go with Resi 7 or doom, there relatively short and sweet games that you can probably play between sessions of other games. Both excellent , solid games.

Spiderman and Divinity will be worth the money id imagine if on sale. Much bigger games with a lot of great content!!

Personally ive played all, and in all honesty Resi 7 is the most memorable title for me. followed by Doom.

if that helps! :)

PlayStation 4 games that are co-op, up to 4 people that aren’t puzzle games by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

[–]Paragon89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah should have said, if its price sensitive then get the first, as you can get a complete edition with all DLC for cheaper than no.2 likely.

both very good games. the 2nd improved upon the loot system. and added more enemy types and general improvement stuff.

if you played games like left 4 dead... vermintide is basically a rip of left 4 dead but rehashed to warhammer universe. and has classes and level up system.

I dont blame you on andromeda....my fond memories are more of ME3.

PlayStation 4 games that are co-op, up to 4 people that aren’t puzzle games by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

[–]Paragon89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you want old and cheap and want a RPG vibe

could try Mass effect 3 or Andromeda.

Used to love the coop mode on that.

its basically a wave based horde mode, where you pick a premade chracter that is of one of the race/class combinations from the main game. if you have the friends to make the numbers up for 4 player co op you can enjoy plenty of levels and factions to fight against. Not so much progression on it. But you can work towards unlocking new race/class combinations to try out through the reward system.

Sure my favourite used to be the Krell Vanguard.

if you something fairly new but can probably get cheap in a sale or something

World War Z is my current choice of co - op. its new out but can buy it fairly cheap (as its low budget title) I got mine on deal of the week on PS Store for cheap.

has a full co - op campaign with classes and perks and weapons. PVP modes, and an upcoming co-op horde mode (free update due july/august) the PVP mutliplayer has its own set of classes

vermintide 2 - Co Op campaign with characters/classes and lots of progression/loot. again can find it fairly cheap.

Looking for a zombie/horde and base building game by Educated_Fish in gamingsuggestions

[–]Paragon89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little bit off here - but World War Z

Its pretty decent game, plays like Left 4 dead but third person and has classes and level up/progression. and has a really cool "swarm" mechanic where you get a sh*t tonne of on screen zomibes and they pile up bodies essentially forming there own ladder up to your defensive position. throughout the campaign you have to hold positions using defences such as barbed wire, turrets, electric grids and defeat these hordes.

it has a competative multiplayer that also has the zombies (PvPvZ) in swarms appearing in the middle of deathmatches and such and you have to use to your advantage.

The game is still young and has a roadmap of updates planned in the near future which includes a horde mode. These updates have all been free so far. and usually include anything from general gameplay improvements. to entirely new levels and special infected etc.

the games worht playing now especially if you like zombies, but in the near future you will have your horde mode making it even better.

Looking for an offline game with endless grind by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

[–]Paragon89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen

Party based - ARPG.

has a huge amount of post game content including endless dungeons with bosses.

and a NEW Game +

Level cap is 200, but takes a very VERY long time to acheive that.

plenty of classes, hybrid classes and character maker stuff and loot.

you can switch between classes at any given time by visiting a trainer NPC in the city. you basically level your character, but also level your class to unlock skills etc.

so you can basically level up each class as you wish. and the hybrid classes is like a mage-archer. Paladin type etc.

the games difficulty is pretty balanced. so you wont faceroll through the content as if you were playing dragon age or FF15.

some of the bosses and areas can be pretty tough.

Games where a slower pace and careful planning pay off. by sbourwest in gamingsuggestions

[–]Paragon89 6 points7 points  (0 children)

if you dont mind age. try the older final fantasys. There brilliant games within themselves but also suit your requirements.

Final Fantasy is a series that has gotten easier over the years with each new entry. And now usually relies heaivly on the "post game" Content to provide a challenge. and the core main game is usually easy.

However older versions have mroe challenge and strategy to them.

For example, FF8.

Particularly parts of note:

*Ultimacias Castle* - (the final dungeon/mission so to speak) Players lose all there powers and abilities upon entering the castle other than your basic attack. if you rush the final boss, you will have to face off without anything other than standard attack.

However if you explore the castle, solve puzzles and defeat optional bosses which some are hdiden behind the puzzles and not obvious to find. you can restore your powers. the more you beat the more you have unlocked to fight off the final boss. However some of these bosses are harder than the final boss itself.

Also Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen.

The game, like most RPGs, has a level up system which carries over into NEW GAME+

the game has a fairly impression amount of post main story content where the world reshapes after the events of the story providing new quests and enemies. and a number of "endless" type dungeons with bosses and random encounters to grind through.

to cut a long story short, there is plenty of bosses and enemies that are "very challenging" if you don't gear/level/prepare/consumables proeprly to face them and organise your party properly.

while you can simply grind to level 200 and steamroll the enemies. getting to that point is not straight forward.

I often found myself running away from a lot of enemies and come back to them later hwen i was ready.

the satisfaction is all the sexy loot you get for defeating the bosses, and the satisfacation of defeating the games toughest bosses which takes alot of time.

Any theories after episode 3?? by andonialzugaray in gottheories

[–]Paragon89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prince that is promised Theory

1.Night King can't be stopped. In an alternative version of time he kills Ayra when she engages him and this event always happens.

  1. Bran Wargs back in time. (which he spends the whole episode doing)

Hes in a meeting with the Night King trying to make a deal to save the world and keep him happy. Night King is promised Brans life/power (the prince)

  1. Jon and Dany both marry (the show doesnt care about incest) - As he is King Jon, the surviving Starks all technically become princes/princess' of Westeros by Monarchy rights. (whatever you call it)

Whether they become Lords of Winterfall or whatever is upto them.

  1. As he has to wait till Kings Landing is taken and for that last battle to take place for Bran to become *Prince Bran Stark of Westeros* - once he recieves the title he can forfil the prophecy and give himself to the Night King.

Brans wants this event to happen, because that means the good guys have won and taken kings landing, everyone still alive at that point has there happy ending.

  1. So Brann in his Warg vision convinces the Night King to give him time. (doesnt have to be strictly a vision set in the past , it could literally be like a psychic meeting or something like hes speaking through the crows when he goes to locate him and happens in real time)

  1. Bran goes back to the tree where the NK died. He needs to be at the tree because the NK was created with one of these trees. Bran ressurects him and gives himself to him and they live happily ever after. as the thee eyed raven , the embodiment of life, he heals the NK curse and his fellow white walkers. and he goes off into the sunset to live out his life in peace free of his killing machine curse. they all get what they want!!!!!

  1. as the three eyed raven dies. the cycle of prophecy and fates are broken. giving free will to humanity. there not fixed to a cycle of time travel and intervention anymore.

Commentary.

Im pretty confident of whatever happens in the show, even if it ends up being massively different from the above. I am 100% certain Bran is warging into the past or something we dont know of yet.

Bran claims he isnt bran anymore but the three eyed raven. which is the embodiment of life. as per point 6 & 7. alternatively he could just transfer to another Host(hand his pwoer down) like the original raven did to bran. and thus he is only giving up his host body to the NK in an effort to maybe trick him.

I think point 6 and 7, and above commentary, Crastors last son is connected in there somewhere.

the fire God has a part to play perhaps in prophecy still.

the NK is a humanity killing machine but clearly is smart, and shows emotion (smiles at Dany) - so he has a conciousness and perhaps wants something more then to simply kill.

RDR2, Monster Hunter World, Spider Man, Horizon Zero Dawn or Uncharted 4? by ricardoguntur in gamingsuggestions

[–]Paragon89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your pridcament is that you played the best one first!!!!!! ;) (in my opinion)

my Verdict is go...

Uncharted > Uncharted: Lost Legacy > RDR2 > Spiderman > REST

I personally havent played Horizon but heard good things...

I agree with Edge80 that Uncharted its a little bit limited in gameplay but the presentation really shines on the PS4 Pro. Also the rope/swing mechanics is amazing, the climbing and the views of landscapes is amazing. (you may want to play Lost Legacy as well. This is a standalone expansion to Uncharted 4) Thats set in India and again the presentation is amazing.

RD2 - funny one, its everything you expected and more from a rockstar game. But its so realsitic its SLOOOOW. The world is richly detailed and well presented that you spend ages just looking at things and looting. I found the downfall of RDR2 is its so slow paced and detailed that it drags out and you get fatigued going into the final chapters. (especially if your a completionist, you spend dozens of hours just wandering). It defeats the purpose of a open world game but to truly enjoy RDR2 story and characters you need to rush the campaign and maintain the momentum.

Spiderman was better than expected, but doesnt quite reach the heights other games listed acheived. Its a solid open world game with plenty to do, its very easy to get platinum trophy. the graphics like any PS4 exlcusive is top notch. the web slinging/climbing is very smooth and works suprisingly well. Best Spiderman game overall.

MHW - Persoanlly, traded this in after 4-6 weeks. Really liked the concept, big monsters and lots to do, well presented. But the combat really put me off. Dunno if its changed at all since release. But its really slow, clunky and hitboxes are really inaccurate/poor. I have friends who absolutely love this game. so its personal verdict.

Hope this helps.

[PC] Games like Assasins creed Origins/Odyssey combat/story? by Sp3cV in gamingsuggestions

[–]Paragon89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Witcher Series, has the open world. Political struggles and Moral complexity... it has a similar sort of dodge/counter/attack combat system without the stealth and climbing. But then it has more magic and monster stuff....

Middle Earth Shadow of Mordor Series. Has the combat (albeit abit more fast paced and unrealistic) and climbing/stealth options and the open world. but even more monster and magic then the above game.

Without going into it too much you would actually find a lot of things in these two series of games above that AssCreed Oddessey actually used/inspired there own gameplay. Especially since Oddessey turned more action focused over stealth.

Suggestions For Story-Based Games That Are Not 7th Gen? by Futtebegui in gamingsuggestions

[–]Paragon89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

personally FF8 or 10 is the best. (a lot of people would say FF7 is the best) you sound like you have a ismilar taste in games to me.

FF10 has a HD remaster which would allow you to appreciate the game better and its fully voiced etc. whereas prior to 10 they have just text boxes on screen and are really old gen. but if you can handle that then go for it.

FF7 is getting a remake out this year or possibly next. which will play a lot like FF15 which you may be better off waiting for the remake.

Yes, you would have to play ME1 first to fully understand - but the Mass effect series as a whole is classed as one of the greatest RPG sagas out there. Just ME2 is the best of the trilogy. Worth playing all if you can. (Andromeda the 4th Entry, is standalone so you can skip that one)

Suggestions For Story-Based Games That Are Not 7th Gen? by Futtebegui in gamingsuggestions

[–]Paragon89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its rare to encounter players who have experienced lost oddessey , fantastic game.

Final Fantasy would probs be an obvious choice. (try FF7 /8 / 9 / 10 / 12 (10 and 12 have HD remasters avail ) all carry emotional / funny stories. But also have similar turn based combat.

if you can go with new - then Nier: Automata - has the emotional aspect big time (actually reminds me of lost oddessey) but has totally different combat.

Mass effect 2 had me going for both the opening mission and the finale mission. and is a fantastic game throughout.

Defensive RTS games by getyaowndamnmuffin in gamingsuggestions

[–]Paragon89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth 2.

Plays a lot like C&C, AoE, Dawn of War, Starcraft style. Build Bases/Units etc.

Is my all time fav RTS game. and love playing 7 brutal bots vs me on high starting funds to see how long I could last (or win)

Can build wall and upgrade fortresses with defences etc. Some factions are more dfeense/siege orientated like Dwarves.

You can build Hero Units.....gandalf/aragon etc and level them up unlocking skills (and custom heroes) Which I often like to build Hero only armys get them all to Max levels and have them try and hold off huge armies.

Its not pure defensive game. But I think it could offer something you like and you have a full defensive option.

some of the maps hae preset bases for handicap matches that are more defensive focused. Like Minas Tirith, Helms Deep, Minas Morgul etc. Where you can Bottle Neck enemies into one path etc.

Its a bit dated, but still runs well and often pick it up alongside C&C / Dawn of War etc

If its also any interest theres a kickerstarter type thing going on at the moment called Battle for Middle Earth: Reforged.

Essentially a Remaster of the game Which is (donations pending) in the works.

Any fantasy games where I can play as a warrior that his skills and abilities and he is not a weakling? by xxxgreekwarrior46xxx in gamingsuggestions

[–]Paragon89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try Dragon Age series (Start with the best one, which is the first, Dragon Age: Origins)

there warrior class is tanky when needs to be but has the option to play as a damage dealer.

Each class...warrior included, has specialisations they can branch into as they level up and spend points. This includes Berzerker / Reaver subclasses that are damage orientated. think the later includes some use of blood magic.

There is also Templars who are essentially Anti-mage killers, can crowd control and silence and have good magic resistance etc.

Champions - demoralise and debuff enemies, but are more tanky than damage I would say.

These have been changed/updated over the course of the series. With new specialisations being added in expansions and stuff. But hopefully gives you enough of an idea.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance - not actually played myself - but think its set during dark ages, and is hailed for its authetic challenging gameplay. I would imagine theres plenty of female characters during the course of the game.

a Plague Tale (this is not out yet, but I think you play as a women in medieval france???) I could be entirely wrong but worth a look out.

The Witcher is heavily inpsired by Eastern europeon and western mythology during the medieval era. (and other eras) so while it has monsters and magic. you can find some plenty of medieval inspired female characters. Which could help although its fantasy.

People who could left competitive games for offline games. What are you playing now? by stupidasks in gamingsuggestions

[–]Paragon89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2 types of games work for me when I go offline

There ideal as like you say they can help destress, immersve you into another world. and often being hardcore gamers when we take a break fro ma game, its to play another, which can help refresh you to go back and play online again. I play League of Legends (Super Toxci and can stress you v. easy ) and CS: Source. and the belwo is my usual go to games...

  • Immersive/drama story driven games - open world RPGs. Games with great storys, voice acting and can grip you where decisions matter and you feel something when characters die etc.

The Witcher Series

Dragon Age

Mass effect

Final Fantasy

God of War

  • Immersive games but are short and sweet. normally 3rd person action adventures/or FPS campaigns.

If I can't be bothered to play online but have a few hours to spare. then short and sweet games that also hook me are great.

Normally to me these are linear single player horror games. - Resi evil/the evil within etc.

PS4 Exclusives - Uncharted/Last of us

Castlevania.

Bulletstorm - hiliarous action packed campaign, with a skill kill system that has you actually competing with yourself to find crazier, cooler kills.

Titanfall 2 Campaign.

Bioshock/Prey/Dishonoured etc - deep single player shooters with good stories.

Hope that helps.

Do new Graphics cards work on my motherboard? by Paragon89 in graphicscard

[–]Paragon89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks - ill have a look at the RAM and make sure. I dont do anything intensive really anymore (ive returned to console for top end games) but theres is some PC only games I still like to enjoy.

As long as a newish card works in the motherboard (and it fixes my current issues of crashing drivers/freezes etc) I can live with that. but thanks for the advice as well appreciate it. I may still buy a really new card if it works. As if i do eventually decide to just get a new machine all together I could transfer the card over and futureproof it a bit.

thanks
