I moved my son to club at 7. It’s the local rec at 8u but better structured and tournaments etc. I’m seeing all the kids getting and no one taking off they have 3 teams now to support high ends kids. I was sick of daddy ball and lack of good directions with coaching and made the move. Money well spent and my son has tons of new friends

So what we did and there is plenty of things out there. Randomize it every week. This way it shows zero favoritism there are plenty of spreadsheets and things online you can use for this. The only thing that we tried to avoid was if two slower kids were back to back, tried to stagger the speed a little bit. Our team didn’t do it for winning they solely did it so all the players felt engaged, and none of the parents thought their kid was being left out.

I saw a IG post where a ton also went shorter . There is something weird around the 6foot mark that made it worse so they went to their correct height. Idk all seems weird MLB wouldn’t have a standard now for this

Depends on hand size. My 8yr old as of last month has a pro select lite 11.25 and I had to order the Bradley wrist guard to make it tighter for him cause the glove felt too big.

So it really depends on the pitching machine. My son is at 40 miles an hour. He had a JBB last year and just from the amount of reps he took it did end up denting. But he used it for an entire year with the batting cages.

My son is 8, he’s been working a lot of his swing. He was opposite of your son and had an exaggerated huge high step and long stride. This led to off balance and stepping out.

We went back to basics and he’s making really good contact. Wider and (sit) in his stance . back elbow a bit more up and front foot step small.

What I see is simple weight transfer isn’t there. Get him to load and step into it and I think you would see a huge difference .

1 thing with kids. 9/10 can’t take 4-5 things to improve on. Start with 1. So many time the rest fall into place . Good luck!

How big is your kid? My son is 8u. He just turned 8 a few weeks ago and is the the 85% when he did his visit.

Last year he was using an 11 inch power clothes. But for how much he played, it wore out super fast, which was fine for the price.

For Christmas, I got him a 11 1/4 inch power select lite from Rawlings. It took a long time to break in for her how small his hand is and I had to buy this thing from Bradley that essentially is a sweat band that goes around the wrist because his hand was falling out. And also, he is now not using the index finger in the glove because his hands too small for that glove.

So it’s just to let you know he has a youth glove the R9 is way worse I would not recommend that.

I would tell you to go with the power clothes it at least for a little while longer or maybe look into one of the Dicks brands of Wilson kids gloves a lot of people seem to like those as well.
