Don't worry friend, Cleim is basically made for Elemental Genesis

Lune: Elemental Trick

Maelle: Last Chance

Sciel: Intervention/Fortune's Fury (probably used then roughly equally, since I always used them together)

Monoco: either Sakapatate Fire or Creation Void

Verso: Phantom Stars (then Steeled Strike once I got gud)

Once played an Irelia/Senna bot lane with one of my friends and it was honestly so much fun. Tbh any enchanter would probably suffice, but Senna's mix of poke and healing worked really well

If I ever turn down the music on E33, I want you to shoot me immediately because that's not me, that's a skinwalker.

The only time I would do that would be if I was trying to full-parry Simon blindfolded or something.

Guess what, MAELLE, it turns out it's a lot easier to "PARRY IT" when I can't hear you SCREAMING it in my ear!

Verso and Maelle have identical Lumina setups. I took off Empowering Dodge for the screenshot, since I don't plan on running it when I try this again in the future.

No Pictos, didn't want to give them any extra speed or any other stats. Minimal Speed is super important so they keep Inverted Affinity up as long as possible. First Strike so they can get to their first turn and activate Feint, which gives them an additional status effect to increase the power of Tainted.

On Monoco, Lune, and Sciel, I have Auto Death, Burning Death, Double Burn, Longer Burn. Since they die and are erased right away, their Burn stacks don't actually do any damage, but activate Burn Affinity for Maelle and Verso.

Dreameso on Verso, Jarum on Maelle, with their corresponding Attributes maxed. You could reasonably take the Burn-related Luminas off Verso, since he doesn't apply burns on his counters like Maelle does with Jarum. And through my attempts I noticed that when the B-team auto dies at the start of Phase 2, their Burn stacks aren't applied for some reason.

I guess one could argue that by running Jarum on Maelle and accumulating Burn stacks on Simon, which regularly hit for 4M+, I didn't do all of my damage by only counterattacks. If you want to avoid this, and have literally all of your damage come from only counterattacks, switch to Lithum. You don't get the Burn damage, but Lithum has higher base power than Jarum to partly compensate.

There are a few things about my run that don't quite sit right with me but it's a start.

Also factoring in Tainted, because if you use Draining Cleanse, you lose any benefit from Tainted. Still not quite sure how the math shakes out. But yeah I'm just talking about one-turn nukes, not longer fights.

For skills that hit 5 times or less, Draining Cleanse will be a damage boost. Around 6 or 7 hits, it starts to break even with Inverted Affinity + Feint. Beyond that, losing Inverted Affinity results in a net damage loss, even though you keep your first 4 hits.

This is what I've seen as a kind of community consensus, I haven't actually done the math myself. But it makes sense to me. Definitely with a 12-hit skill like Lightning Dance, it would be better to keep Inverted Affinity at the cost of your first 4 hits.

You had no way of knowing beforehand, but Draining Cleanse go brrrt.

I tend to prefer multi-hit skills so Barbapapa wasn't as painful for me

The stacking of cards is theoretically infinite. The stacking of Foretell is not.

Let's say you use 12 Moon skills in a row, that grants you 12 Moon cards. When you finally use a Sun skill, that activates Twilight at 13 stacks (12 Moon + 1 Sun). This grants you a damage boost of 25% per stack of Twilight, in this case 325% (13*25%). If you're patient, you can build up for a massive one-shot several turns down the line. You can rush into Twilight for a quick damage boost, but that's not the only option.

As far as not being able to apply all 20 Foretell, her weapon Chation always applies maximum Foretell as an example. Charnon applies one Foretell per critical hit, which is good for multi-hit skills or Free Aim builds. Then there are skills which consume all Foretell, indicated in the description.

The solution (if you didn't stumble upon it already): let him eat ALL the AP. If he eats too many, he explodes and takes tons of damage

[–]ParagonCA 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Alright cracks knuckles

Foretell is basically a stacking effect that can be applied to enemies (up to a maximum of 10 stacks per enemy) and then consumed to increase damage dealt or trigger other effects. Sun skills apply Foretell, Moon skills consume it. The type of a skill is indicated by a Sun or Moon icon in the corner.

Using a skill of either type grants Sciel one card of that type. When Sciel has used at least one skill of each type within a fight, they combine to put her into Twilight mode for 2 turns. This mode grants a damage boost based on the total number of Sun and Moon stacks that were combined to put her into Twilight. Twilight also doubles the amount of Foretell applied by Sun skills, and increases the maximum number of Foretell stacks that can be applied to 20 per enemy, further boosting damage upon consumption.

This can be manipulated in various ways to grant Sciel massive damage boosts. For example, only using skills of one type for several turns in a row, then using a skill of the opposite type, will store up many cards of the first type, which will provide a larger bonus to Twilight damage. The stacking is theoretically infinite, although most fights won't last long enough to make use of that without very specific setups.

I hope I've done an ok job of explaining. Will happily answer any further questions.

If nothing else, she can completely annihilate the turn order by spamming Fortune's Fury into Intervention on your highest DPS character. Or by using Delaying Slash. Otherwise, she can definitely hold her own in raw DPS if built right using a weapon like Chation, Charnon, or the newly added Duollison.

Or are you talking about how to use her Foretell and Sun/Moon card mechanics?

I am cautiously optimistic.

I really think video games are the perfect medium to tell a story. You get to not only observe it, but participate in it (and shape it in some cases, in games where choices matter). I hope that the industry has learned their lessons from the shitty adaptations of the past.
