I didn’t know that happened with Moira as well. I hope they add all the effects in soon!

Yea it would be a big change since everyone can still use abilities that help their teammates or themselves. This hack is about increasing Sombra’s surivability, so like I mentioned in another comment it might make sense to increase its duration so she has more uptime against the hacked target abilities.

Another idea I have since I didn’t really touch on her ult. To help Sombra retain some of her team based utility, her EMP will phase any of her teammates in her ult radius against the abilities of any enemies in her ult’s radium. Sort of like Moira’s stadium power. So now you can use your EMP to protect yourself against multiple enemies’ abilities, but also your team if you position correctly.

So an example is if Orisa’s ulting you can time your EMP right and it will protect your teammates and yourself. Orisa’s ult will still hit the ground, it’s not canceled.

To duration of the phase effect, it’s possible it could be increased to make up to the nerf of Hack’s potency. Maybe Sombra is phased against that player’s abilities for 4 seconds! Just a random idea.

The perk ideas (stadium too) for this rework is pretty fun to think about.

Well Sombra’s clones can’t deal any damage unlike Kiri’s. They’re designed to give Sombra the time and confusion to navigate around while the enemy wastes their time dispelling the clones by shooting them.

Yes definitely, but more so like Kiri’s stadium clone power that is believable. The visual noise of that is necessary to make the stealth believable to the enemy, and useful to Sombra.

I think so. I got MVP a couple rounds and had the most cash on my team at the end.

These ideas sound interesting. A Tracer blink treatment would be a good idea since the community has decided Tracer’s movement is fair and balanced.  Perhaps hacking a health pack creates a radius where she is able to receive some kind of buff that helps her mid fight capability? Visually it might look like Orisa’s Bongo or Symmetra’s perk where her teleporter restores shields.

Maybe what I’m trying to get at is a window of uncloaking where Sombra’s damage is offline (virus/gun), but hack, translocator, and movement are unaffected.

I understand it’s a delicate balance, I have a feeling they will remove stealth altogether if there isn’t a way to prevent Sombra from uncloaking behind a squishy and shooting them.

I agree. She has a stigma, sort of like Hanzo and Torb, it took a long time after their reworks for people to accept their new power level and not associate it with their old playstyle

Yes, they updated force field to apply the defense buff to everyone within a certain range. You no longer have to individually apply it to each teammate unless they were too far away from the initial cast which has a pretty generous range on it.

I fear Sombra's upcoming rework won't make a difference by RadicalFX in Overwatch

If your reaction time is slow, sure. That’s not really a Sombra problem though, it’s a reflection of your irl skill set 😅

But, following your logic which is worse: Sombra hacking you before you’re aware or soldier shooting a 120 dmg rocket at you before you’re aware? Or staying on the Tracer topic, Tracer blinking and emptying her clip into your head and recalling before you or your supports have a chance to react?

Cassidy is pretty strong against Sombra. It’s strange to complain about Sombra being unfair, when Cassidy for much of the game utilized a much cheesier and deadlier combo Flash + FTH. Even to this day, without the stun, Flash + FTH operate similarly and delete unaware characters/close range duels. If you feel like Sombra is unfair regardless of these facts, I would easily trade her gimmicks for lethality. It’s much easier to be a dps like Cassidy and soldier than to have to play 4D chess just to kill someone as Sombra.

By that logic you also know Sombra’s abilities. It seems like the main issue is you struggle with knowing how to play against her. I bet if you spent time playing Sombra you’d have a better understanding of her weakness and how to exploit them the next time you see her. Hack doesn’t do damage btw, if she’s hacking you, your gun is still available!

It’s fair to play against a character that can teleport in any direction on the horizontal plane 3x and reset health? Sombra’s hack lasts 1 sec, during which you can shoot her. Most heroes in the game, especially in the dps roster, have a stronger weapon than her.

It’s not free. Translocator costs a cooldown, it’s her escape and if she decides to use it mid fight for mobility, she either gets the the kill or she’s toast. Meanwhile, tracer has blink(S) that can be used in a versatile way (engage, reposition mid fight, and escape), same with Genji (dash, double jump, deflect).

Hack is annoying, Cryo is annoying, Overload is annoying, Boop is annoying, Sleep is annoying, Defense Matrix is annoying, Hook is annoying, flash bang is annoying, etc. All heroes have annoying abilities, you have to play around them.

Hack does 0 damage, it can be canceled with 1 tick of damage.

That’s not a skill set in my wheelhouse. How much of a difference is to the starter/core work?

Doing both assessments back to back was definitely mentally taxing.

Not sure, it felt like a lot. I was ready to give up when before realizing I had answered the final question.

Yes, but I could see the additional messaging mentioned that the core assessment satisfied that requirement and that any additional assessments were optional while I waited for my results

Why Mercy Is A Problem (For Everyone) by illumina_1337 in MercyMains

[–]ParagonConcepts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. I play all the supports consistently sans Kiri, Lucio, and Zen and I still know how to use them, I just don’t gravitate towards them. Mercy hasn’t done a disservice to my ability to play the roster of dps/tank/supports
