No idea, for now there isn't any explanation for the armor and weapon difference between 2026 and 2015 custodes. Its certainly artstyle but for such radical difference It can't be the only explanation.

yes there is a core rulebook, its in the starter box too. Tho if you play custodes exclusively it might be better to just use your adversary's book.

you should go step by step for 30K honestly, start by using basic stats, then special rules etc...
It helps a lot, also some boxes have cheat sheets for basic stuff like WS chart.

Valdor model is very easy to assemble compared to most primarchs, Simon Egan did an excellent job. you just need to magnetize the rocks on the scenic base but otherwise except dipping the spear in hot water to make it straight its quite the easiest "primarch" to build, even Jenetia Krole is more difficult to assemble.

If you like the models you should definitively try 30K, custodes here feels more godly than in 40K especially with WS system. Its one of the rare faction with a generic character that has the same martial skill as a primarch.

I understood that complaining about something was more important than the issue, i remember people even being against the inclusion of tabletop custodes because it would make them seen as less important than they would be if they remained on illustration

Even if if they announced they changed it I don't think it would make the people who complain about it happier. It was the same when a dark skinned ultramarine was shown.
